Vaughn hummed in thought, feeling the back of his neck heat up at the nickname. Baby. “This shouldn’t happen here. Not now.”
Vaughn hummed in thought, feeling the back of his neck heat up at the nickname. Baby. “This shouldn’t happen here. Not now.”
"What shouldn't happen? Details, babe," Kaz hummed, sprawling out on top of Vaughn. He grinned down at him, a smug look on his face as he reached a hand up to tap Vaughn's nose
“You know exactly what I mean,” Vaughn muttered in a low tone. He moved his hands from his face, dropping them back to his sides as he looked up at Kaz, frowning softly.
Kaz pouted. "Aww. If it makes you feel any better I already broke the cameras in here. I've got a knack for electronics, and these dumbasses hide cameras in all the easy places," he said, tone growing faintly hopeful at the end of his sentence
“That’s not the issue, I didn’t care about the cameras,” Vaughn started, his tone stern on the matter. “I don’t want to randomly get sick in the middle of something like you just did, and ruin the whole goddamn time.”
"Oh. Forgot about that," Kaz said, running a hand through his hair. "Well, we'll just wait till after you get sick. Which, no offense, I hope will be soon because I would very much like to see you without fifty million layers of jackets and shirts and shit."
“I happen to like the way I dress. Besides, it’s not much of a sight, anyways. Lots of scars and such,” Vaughn said, staying laid out on his bed. And the tattoo. He had gotten it a year ago, his sister’s name in her handwriting from some old second grader math worksheet. She always hated math. Just couldn’t grasp it.
"Are you kidding?" Kaz scoffed. "You saw my arms, they look like I stuck both hands in a garbage disposal and kept them there for a few minutes. I can guarantee you'll look better than me."
Vaughn rolled his eyes and shook his head slowly. “Hey, we’ve both had our fair share of self harm. That’s why we’re here,” he said, vaguely gesturing to the space around them.
Kaz arched a brow, his expression changing to something a little more solemn. “You…You self harmed too?” he asked, a little softer than his normal tone
Tenor walks into the room. Loudly. Knowing what it is like to be startled. An aching pain in his chest. Stumbling. Falling. Tenor refuses to scream. He always refuses to scream. He alw-You have more pressin things than memories boy! Pull yourself together! Cupping hands to rust stained lips. Charcoal. Copper. Wetness. Tenor refuses to call for help. It never does anything anyway.
(wait, which room did Tenor walk into?)
Kaz arched a brow, his expression changing to something a little more solemn. “You…You self harmed too?” he asked, a little softer than his normal tone
Vaughn exhaled heavily and nodded slowly. “On the news a few years back, there was this big thing about some guy murdering his wife and daughter, but the son got away. All gruesome and shit, the guy got 60 years. The son? That’s me. I was 13 and I watch my mom and little sister get killed, so yeah, it fucked me up to where I tried to do shit.”
Kaz's face fell slightly. "I…I'm sorry. I think I might have been in Germany at the time, but I liked reading about stuff that happened in the states. I think I read about it a little. That must have really sucked," he said softly, trying to find words. He was horrible at empathy, especially trying to comfort people. But for Vaughn, he would try his best. He wrapped his arms around the other boy, trying to console him with affection instead of words
(You guy's room, poor guy, he did knock first)
(ohhhh)
Vaughn nudged himself out of the hug, shaking his head. “It’s Fine,” he mumbled, seeming in a bad mood because he had to talk about that. Though he noticed movement and heard a thump from a short distance away and sat up quickly, looking at the male who was on the floor. He had been the one at the door, and Vaughn had completely forgotten about him. “Holy shit,” he mumbled, getting up quickly.
Kaz jumped up, making his way over to the boy on the floor cautiously. “Look at his neck, it looks like mine,” he said quietly, pointing to the side of it
“Fuck,” Vaughn cursed softly. He stepped closer to the boy, hesitantly putting a hand on his shoulder, eyes narrowed softly. “Are you okay?” He asked slowly.
“I’ll grab him some water, the coughing’s a bitch,” Kaz said before jogging into the bathroom, fumbling with one of the cheap disposable cups at the side of the sink before filling it with water
Tenor seems to be leaking. Charcoal. Rust. Copper. Can't catch it all. Spilling out of his hands. Coughing. No air to breathe. Coughing. Shoulders shaking. Stopping. Breathing. Alive. Living.
Kaz returned a few moments later with the water and a few paper towels, crouching down to offer them to the boy. "Hey man, here you go. Drink some water, it'll help with the coughing," he said softly
Tenor drinks. Heaving gulps. Clearing rust from his mouth. Breathing. Glass empty. Sitting down. Shirt stained with rust.
(Also, Tenor killed an orderly by tearing their throat out with his teeth before they give him the injection. No one seems to have noticed that he is rather blood stained. Also, he is bleeding from scratches along his arms. My poor boy)
(oof, poor boy)
Kaz sighed, taking in the state the boy was in. "You got messed up good, didn't you?" he asked softly. "I'll grab you more water," he said, getting up to get another cup of water for the kid
“Are there any extra bandages or something in there? Gauze possibly?” Vaughn called to Kaz, brow furrowed as he slowly crouched down, eyes flicking warily over the boy’s blood stained clothes.
"Uhh…" Kaz trailed off, beginning to rummage through the cupboards. He pulled out a box of gauze and bandages. "Yep, got em," he said, tossing them to Vaughn before getting more water
Tenor drinks. Heaves for air. Mouth clear. Head clear. Mind clear. Body Rust stained. Hands Rust stained. Teeth Rust stained. Tired, so tired. Arms dripping Rust. Wide blue eyes.
(just gonna jump into the action here lol)
Jules looked at the boy on the floor, her roommate. I don't even know his name. She looked him over, he looked like he was dying, blood, so much blood. The air itself smelled metallic. The back of his neck was a spider web of green veins, the side effects, she thought. She reached up to her neck, it felt swollen and it hurt. She spoke, "What can I do?"
"I'd help him back to your room. Make him lay down or something, he'll be okay in a bit," Kaz said, taking a bit of the bandages and wrapping them around his neck. He wasn't bleeding or anything, he just didn't like how the skin looked. And it seemed to be a common thing to do, what with the hundreds of people he had seen with bandages around their necks as well
Jules pulled his arm around her shoulders, propping him up with her body. She then started the meticulous task of walking, or stumbling, down the hallway back to their room. "I never caught your name," Jules said, "Oh, uh, don't answer if you can't."
