"Probably not. I never thought that she could actually have feelings for me Val!" Sage was on cloud nine.

“Why wouldn’t she?” Valerie asked, amused. “You’re a wonderful person, if a little oblivious or awkward.”

"A little? More like A LOT." Sage corrected her. "And you know… Ari's pretty amazing, whereas I'm pretty meh. I mean, you guys are practically my first friends. Ever."

“That’s sad, I think. I really can’t say much about friendship, I only have a few,” she shrugged, eyes flicking into the dungeon.

"You, Ari and Cato are enough for me," Sage shrugged. "My point is more… it's a pleasant surprise."

While he was very socially awkward, even Sage could pick up on Valerie's sadness. "Hey, are you ok?" he asked gently.

“I’m fine,” she said, an edge to her tone. She made to leave. “I’m serious, though. Go kiss her.”
