Lillian nodded, "I-I'm sorry about this."
Lillian nodded, "I-I'm sorry about this."
"It's n-not your fault." He said pressing his palm to his head. His headache was only getting worse and his normally tan face was white pale.
Lillian looked at him. Her face an ashen color, "Are you sure you're not sick? You don't look to good."
(I have a strange plan for Darren… It's gonna get sad fast.)
(Oh no…. Do it.)
"Yeah, I'm fine." He said slowly as if it was a struggle to get the words out. "It's just the nerves I think."
He swallowed hard, his head was pounding with pain and sweat was now dripping off of his sickly pale face.
Lillian fought off the bile in her throat, "You're not fine. It's not nerves. If you don't tell me what's wrong, I'm calling an ambulance."
"I don't need an ambula–" His words trailed off. He stood up walking slowly to the door, his vision becoming blurry. Suddenly he fell to the ground and began to shake, his movements were out of his control and his arm was bent strangely. He looked at the cieling but his vision was fading. Was this a-a seizure?
Lillian quickly stood up, "Darren!"
She grabbed the nearest phone and dialed for an ambulance, "Hello? Yeah it's an emergency. My boyfriend seems to be having a seizure. YES I NEED AN AMBULANCE!"
Darren heard the panic in Lillian's voice but it sounded distant and echoey. He tried to say he was okay, but the words wouldn't come out. In fact, his body wasn't cooperating with him at all.
Lillian stayed on the phone as she ran back to Darren. She didn't know what to do. Her only option was to wait.
Darren continued to shake on the floor, the convulsions had gotten worse and he couldn't see anything.
She watched as the EMS ran in and up to Darren. They kept telling her to stay there, but she wasn't having any of it, "Where he goes I go."
Darren felt the EMS team hold him down in an effort to stop the convulsions. Where's Lillian? He tried to say but again, nothing.
Lillian tried to grab Darren's hand. She managed to succeeded, despite the teams best efforts. She began rubbing his palm and saying in a shaky voice, "I'm here. You're going to be fine."
Darren was calmed by the feeling of Lillian's hand, and he could hear her speaking but it sounded too distant to understand. The EMS team had managed to get the convulsions to stop as they loaded him into the ambulance. He occasionally had muscle spasms and he still couldn't really see anything.
Lillian got in with him. Glaring at anyone who dared to try and stop her. At this point most had just given up. she hadn't let go of his hand, and she may never.
They arrived at the hospital and the team made quick work of getting Darren out of the ambulance and into the hospital. They stopped in front of large double doors and asked Lillian to stay in the waiting room so they could take care of Darren to find out what was wrong with him.
Lillian glared but sighed, "Fine."
She sat down. Her leg started bouncing and the bile seemed to return.
Darren felt fear the moment he could no longer feel Lillian's hand, What's going on? But that was soon replaced by a drug-induced unconsciousness.
Lillian pulled out her phone and contacted everyone else. She saw the messages from her mom and felt her stomach drop. The bile continued to push it's way up.
A doctor entered the waiting room, she was short with long blonde hair tied up and boxy glasses. "Which one of you is the girl that came with Darren Anderson?" She looked around the room.
Lillian shot up. The bile was pushed down, "That was me."
The doctor made eye contact with Lillian and walked over to her, "We had to put him under anesthesia so he's not awake yet but you can go in and see him. You'll both have to stay at the hospital for his test results though."
Lillian closed her mouth and nodded, "Take me to him. Please."
The doctor led Lillian to a room where a Darren was laying in a bed, the only indication that he was still alive was the beeping noise his heart machine was making. "Here he is, make sure to call a nurse when he wakes up, okay?"
Lillian bit her lip and nodded, "Okay."
She hated seeing Darren in a state like this. Lillian pulled a chair and sat down next to Darren. She grabbed his hand.
After a while, Darren began to move his head, and he squeezed Lillian's hand but his eyes remained closed.
Lillian smiled as he squeezed her hand. She said quietly, "Darren, are you awake?"
