It was, for the record, quite good. You noticed, however, that you and Blake were the only ones eating it. Everyone else at the table had a different dish that, honestly, resembled moist coffee grounds with a side of something that looked like meatballs, but rust-colored and crunchier. The liquid in their glasses was a finely-strained green-brown color.

"Ah, yes," he said. "I forgot to mention. Most of my employees are shadow spirits, and shadow spirits cannot eat human food. Instead, they dine on things like synthetic chemicals, degraded metals, poisons, and radioactive substances. For your sake, I have asked them to prepare a meal that is free from radiation or toxic fumes. I do believe there is liquid mercury somewhere in that dish, however, so I would advise you to avoid contact with it."

I pushed my plate away. “On second thought I’m not that hungry,” I sat back in my chair, looking into my lap. “Are there any other humans here?”

"Only one at the moment, and he is often away on business. Walker Clay is the co-founder of an investment company I run on the side. He's an intelligent, ambitious individual, and not very interested in socializing. I'm afraid you would probably bore each other." Blake tilted his head at you. "Not going to be lonely, I hope? I'm sure that the other young people here would be happy to keep you company."
His claim was met with a mixed response from the others at the table. Some grumbled quietly, a few nodded and smiled. But none argued with Blake on the matter.

Blake waved his hand airily. "Oh, do let's keep this meal a pleasant experience. I won't bother you about that for the rest of the night, I promise. You deserve time to think it over, perhaps learn a more about the details of such a commitment. Vin tells me that you spoke with him about it this afternoon. I hope his perspective shed some light for you. In the meantime, I feel that it might be necessary to explain who I am exactly. Do you have any questions about me or my work?"

"Well, you seem to have already gathered that I am a god. To be clear, I am the god of Negativity, time, fate, and curiosity. I have always found Earth to be my favorite planet, mostly due to the humans on it. Call me someone who likes to tamper with things. It's great fun." He smiled cheerfully. "These shadow spirits, and various others around the world, are a species of my own design. They are made entirely of Negativity, one of the Rare Energies which–"
There was a cough from the other end of the table. One of the shadow spirits, a girl with short black hair and bold makeup, raised her hand. "Sir, I'm sorry to interrupt, but we are now finished with our meal. If you're going to talk about us like objects, then may we be allowed to return to our duties?"
Blake sighed. "Yes, Miss Rex. All of you except Dimitar and Piper may go. I have to speak to them in a moment."
The others got up, muttering to each other and casting you dark glances. Morgan stayed lounging in his chair, along with a grey-haired man with a perpetual scowl.
(These paragraphs just keep getting longer I need to stop XDD)

@ElderGod-Carrots

(Ok)
“No, I’ll leave. Goodnight.” I got up from my chair and smiled politely at Blake. When I left my smile faded and and walked slowly back to my room, taking in as much information about the place as I could.

It was a very large, winding house, and every room was decorated in a slightly different style. All was basically quiet at this hour, although you saw a few shadow children going about their business in the halls. They paid little mind to you–in fact, they almost seemed to scorn you. At one point, you were stopped by a tall, cold girl who told you, with a heavy Russian accent, that you were not allowed in the below-ground levels. But otherwise, you were ignored.
(Okay, see you tomorrow ^^)

@ElderGod-Carrots

(Goodnight)
I made my way back to my room and undressed feeling great now that I wasn’t in the clothes that Blake liked. I didn’t put anymore on I just stayed in my underclothes. I sat back on the bed and sighed hoping that Luke, Crash and Nate would get here soon.

@ElderGod-Carrots

(I know that you won’t see this until you are awake but I wanted to say that right now, you are probably the only person who listens to what I have said. I know it probably sounds wierd but no one I know in person has been willing to listen, or help me with my anxiety at the moment. So thanks (I don’t know your name other wise I would put it here) for listening to my comments on here. :) )

@Young-Dusty-the-Monarch-of-Dusteria group

(Wow… I'm really sorry to hear that. I hope it's not too hard for you most of the time. I used to struggle with anxiety as well…. I'm very honored that you would chose to share your problems with me, and I hope I'm able to make you feel better, at least a little. Like I said a while ago, if you ever need to talk, I'm on here every day at more-or-less regular intervals. I'm not sure if this site has a way to privately chat, or if there's another site we're both on that we could use for more serious discussions (if you ever wanted to)? Just putting it out there so you know, I'll always listen. :) )

"Cuz he's downstairs going crazy right now. I'm supposed to be standing guard over him, but the noise is killing me. I though you'd probably be able to calm him down. But don't tell Blake, and don't try anything funny. I just need you to shut the stupid dude up for the night."

@Young-Dusty-the-Monarch-of-Dusteria group

She led you down one set of stairs, then another, moving stealthily. You were now in the part of the house which you'd been specifically ordered to stay out of, but if the girl knew about that, she didn't mention it. You walked down a long hall to a door at the end, which the girl unlocked with a special shadow key. On the other side was another corridor, this one made of concrete. Dim electric lights flickered from the ceiling, and the walls on both sides were lined with doors made of steel bars. It looked more like a modern-day dungeon than anything else.
"He's in the first cell on your right," the girl said. "Let me know when you get through to him."
At that point there was a loud clatter and the sound of a heavy impact from that exact cell. You thought you saw the bars bend slightly.
