Ellen walked out of Seth's lab and went to find Mariko.

The ship's landing gear had been busted, but after a few, she'd fixed it to the point where they'd be able to land a few times without destroying it again. Mariko would have to do more extensive work later, but for now, it was good. Slipping her goggles on top of her conductor's hat, she slid out from under the ship and as sweaty as she was, went to get a drink of water from the ship.

Ellen found Mariko walking down the hall in the direction of the kitchen. "Whatca doing?" She asked, following her.

"Getting water." She was covered in grease and dirt. Her blue hair was stringy and greasy and her bangs were wet with sweat.

(the annoying female brunette, Connie, has arrived!)

"Okay. Is the ship fixed?"

Mari brushed her bangs away. "Yes." She didn't like talking much. Her Japanese accent was a main target for those who wanted to bully her.

They walked into the kitchen. "So, is your hair actually blue? Or is it dye?" Ellen asked.

"Dye. Teenage rebellion years." Mari suppressed a laugh. Jiji's face had been priceless.

"Cool. How old are you?"

Mariko thought about it. She hadn't celebrated her birthday for years. "17. I died my hair when I was 15. I redye it every month."

"It's a pretty color." Ellen commented.

"Yeah." Mari grabbed some water. "Does this ship carry paint? Paneling?"

Ellen threw up her hands in a shrug. "I dunno, I just joined the crew!" She hopped up on a stool. "We could go look for some though."

"Yeah." She nodded.
