“Just… stuff, you know. Usual nightmares that come around when your parents go missing, especially when your parents are rulers.” Maybe they’re dead. Maybe they’re not. Maybe it’d be better off if they were. Maybe death would be better for them at this point, whatever happened to them. Maybe-

“Oh. Of course. I’m such an idiot, aren’t I?”

“Yes. Definitely,” she laughed, hugging him.

Cade smiled and wrapped his arms around her, “Are you feeling better?”

“Yeah,” she grinned, looking up. “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.” Cade grinned, then added with a smirk, “You’re shorter than I remember.”

“Shut up,” she laughed, gently hitting him and looking up.

(It does seem like the perfect time for a kiss…)
Cade looked at her awkwardly, unsure what to do.

Besides, Reyna doesn’t even know he likes her lmao, she was asleep when Ace did her thing

Cade sighed and looked up at the sky, his cheeks turning pink. He looked back down at Reyna. Well Ace said so, and she’s always right… He sighed again. Then Cade hesitated before leaning down and kissing Reyna.
(Hey I know it’s bad but I tried.)

Reyna seemed surprised, eyes wide at the sudden movement. She blinked a few times before smiling and kissing him back before breaking away for air. “Tomcat finally figured it out,” she laughed, smiling up at him.

Cade sighed and looked up at the sky, his cheeks turning pink. He looked back down at Reyna. Well Ace said so, and she’s always right… He sighed again. Then Cade hesitated before leaning down and kissing Reyna.

Althea heard voices and looked up to see Cade and Reyna kissing. Smiling to herself she thought they finally figured out their feelings for each other. Looking away to give them privacy, she thought about herself and how much she wanted something like that. All these hidden couples emerging and in the Dark Forest! Of all the craziest thing she could have thought of, finding love in here was the one thing she hadn’t even thought of.

“I don’t do obvious, Cade. At least, not with soft feelings.”

“Feelings are like cheese now? There’s hard and soft?” Cade asked confused, “So what’s cheddar? Anger?”

“Reyna that not a type of cheese.”
