"My dear Maddie,
My apologies for the rather rough welcome we gave you–my employees can be hard to control at times. I hope you feel all right by the time you read this note. I have been looking forward to meeting you in person for some time now. No doubt you have questions–please, as soon as you feel well enough, come downstairs to my office at the end of the hall and I will be happy to explain the situation. You have no need to be afraid here. I promise that nothing and no one will harm you.
Best regards,
Lonan Blake"
(I have to go as well, be back in an hour or two)
(Aaand I'm back)
I put the note down and opened the door quietly. There was no one there. I made my way to the stairs and to Blakes office.
(yay for overly detailed room descriptions XD)
The door was unlocked, and swung open silently. This room was much different from yours. It had a more modern feel to it, with sleek black bookshelves, a pale grey carpet, and a large black desk filling it. The wall across from the door was taken up by a seamless window looking out, to your confusion, on a rainforest. It was cloudy out, and the room was flooded with cold, white light.
Sitting at the desk was a tall, dark-haired man in a suit. He smiled at you politely as you entered. "Ah, you're awake. Please, have a seat." He gestured at a chair in front of you, which you could have sworn hadn't been there before.
(Lol! XD)
I furrowed my brows but did as I was told and walked cautiously towards the seat. The floor boards didnt creak under my steps as most would in a house this old. This room must have been renovated. When I was there I sat and waited for Blake to start speaking.
"It's an honor to meet you, Maddie," he said pleasantly. "How are you feeling? Is there anything I can get for you?"
“An honor?” I said slowly. “Why would it be an honor?” I furrowed my eyebrows even more in confusion.
"Well, because you are a very special individual. I'm not sure if anyone has properly explained to you why I wanted you here….?"
“You want to take my aura to alter your fate. In doing this I’d lose my childhood memories,” I swung my legs over the side of the chair not caring what he thought. “You also want my friend Crash’s as well.”
(I dont know how much longer I’ll be able to be on for so if i don’t respond then thats why)
(Okay)
"Yes." His expression became more serious, thoughtful. "That's the long and short of it. Very few people, human or not, have the kind of rare energy that is powerful enough to change the course of destiny. Crash…he's going to do great things someday. And you….you as well. The two of you, in your own ways, may very well make history." He paused, considering the papers on his desk. "I can imagine that the prospect of losing such an essential part of yourself would be unsettling."
“Only unsettling?” I laughed a little “You’re crazier then I originally thought.”
He laughed with you. "I'm sorry. You're right, it must be terrifying. But I can assure you, there's really nothing to it. Countless people before you have donated portions of their auras, with only one side effect: slight fading or loss of early memories. I'll tell you now, many benefit from the experience. Some even ask for total amnesia. I don't expect you will want that, but there you go. I'm afraid your friends have built this up as a horrific torture. But it's not."
“Sorry but I still think I’ll pass.” I picked at my nails clearly uninterested.
Blake sighed and shook his head. "By all accounts, you are determined. What exactly are you so wary of?"
“Maybe I don’t want to lose my memories.”
(Go to go be back when i can)
(Okay seeya ^^)
"That's quite fair. I can't claim to know what you do or do not want." He chose his words carefully. "One would have thought, with such a traumatic past as yours, that you would gladly agree to forget. But, I appear to be wrong. I must say, you are unique in that regard, Maddie. Almost everyone I've met would rather let go of their past than be haunted by it. You are stronger than I thought."
(Lol his complex way of talking will be the death of me)
“There are some things you can never guess I suppose.”
(Sorry for the late reply, internet imploded)
"True." He stared pensively out the window, which, you realized, was on your right now instead of behind Blake's desk. "It's a real shame to have to keep you against your will," Blake said eventually. "I would have liked to let you stay here, perhaps befriend my employees. Their powers are so similar to yours." He looked back at you. "You're quite sure you don't want this?"
(Gotta go to bed now, see ya tomorrow)
(Bye)
I stayed silent and looking down. I looked up and smiled a little. “What exactly do you know about my childhood?” I asked
"Well, I could read your mind right now and know things that even you don't about it. But that would be quite rude of me. When I first discovered your existence, I did a certain amount of skim-reading, you might say, of the events surrounding your youth. So I understand the general situation you were in. Why do you ask?"
I shrugged. “Just curious I suppose.”
(Hello?)
(Heyo, sorry I'm late, busy day ^^)
"All right then…" he cast a polite but resigned glance at his silver wristwatch. "In that case, I'm afraid I have nothing more to say. It saddens me, as I said, to keep you prisoner, but I can't just let you go either. If you don't mind, I'll ask you to return to your rooms. Dinner is at six."
(That’s fine)
I stood up and walked back over to the door. I opened it slightly but before I left I turned over my shoulder slightly. “Just so you know, I don’t know what I want.” before he could say anything I left and went back to my room.
