(Yeet wanna join us with Lark?)
(YUP. How should I jump in?)
(Just be like hey I know a way around the forest if you don't wanna climb through trees again?)
(Yeah, that would be nice)
Lark looked up as Finchsong and Oakleaf approached. "So how'd it go?"
Oakleaf stood frozen, not sure how he was going to answer her question. "Uhhh, good? Nothing really, really odd happened."
(I won’t be replying any time soon, i’ll be staying away from the computer for a while now because mom and dad are back from their tripe and my brother came back home from a camp…)
"Apparently I'm pregnant and that mouse brain Jaysong destroyed my den! Also my favorite old couple died."
"Oh, congrats on the kits." Lark said. "I'm sorry cats died though."
Finchsong nodded. "I'm… not really sure what to do. Medicine cats aren't allowed to have kits, especially with a cat from another clan and also especially if that other clan cat is also a medicine cat." She gestured towards Oakleaf.
"But that rule is broken because I'm a really good looking medicine cat." Oakleaf joked, raising his tail high in the air.
Finchsong rolled her eyes, trotting along beside him quietly. "Or because we're both idiots who will likely be kicked out of our clans if we're found out."
"Do you think they would throw out the only medicine cats in the clan? Larkwhisker will surely die soon and your the only full trained medicine cat in you're clan." He pointed out, "So they wont."
Finchsong sighed softly. "I… I don't know Oakleaf. It most certainly would be very different, and considerably less pleasant."
Lark flicked her tail back and forth. "Well… maaaaaybeee…. you could say you found them while journeying?"
"Yeah, that's what I planned on doing. I just hope it works…"
“Of course it will!” Oakleaf purred, “Why would the clan ever think the kits were ours?”
Finchsong thought for a moment. "I… I dunno. I suppose it wouldn't be the first thought that comes to their minds. After all, to them, I've never shown any interest in having a mate or kits."
"Good." He purred, padding forward, "Shall we be off or what?"
"We already are off, Oakleaf. We're walking, are we not? How long do you estimate it will take to get back?"
(I thought we were standing by Lark…..)
"Oh? I thought we were strolling, like really really slowly. We'll get nowhere at this pace!"
(I thought they were all walking along :P)
Lark chuckled. "Let's get going then!"
(She was walking with them I think. Also, Finchsong: I'M F*KING PREGNANT DO YOU WANT OUR CHILDREN TO DIE)
"It's fine, Oakleaf. We don't want the kits to be born at camp, do we? It's better that we take a bit of time, to ensure that they're born before we arrive. I'm formulating the story we'll tell, so make sure you say the same thing I do or it'll be very suspicious."
"Yeah, the story is very simple, we were traveling home and we found kits in a bush. BAM, there it's done."
"I think Stoneteller would let you stay until the kits are born and old enough to travel." Lark offered. "If that's what you want."
"I was thinking something a tad more intricate. We were on our way back when we encountered a rogue queen giving birth. We helped delivered the kits, but were unfortunately unable to save the mother."
He sighed but nodded his head, "Ok, I suppose we can use that story."
"I don't know whether we should stay or not… the story would be changed of course, or we could just move the birth of the kits earlier on in the journey… what do you think, Oakleaf?"
"At this point in time, I have no clue what to do… Sorry."
Finchsong sighed, turning to Lark. "What do you think would be wisest?"
