“Y-yeah.” Chelsea said, her voice cracking. “Did something happen to yours too?”

"If you'd like to help there are pastries in the cabinet over there," She offered, "I'm sure the guests would like something to eat."

Oliver nodded and headed towards the cabinet, grabbing a tray with pastries carefully. He set them on an intricately carved wooden table, motioning for people to take some. After a few moments, he headed back towards Maddie, unsure of what else to do.

After a moment, she knocked a little harder. Hearing voices inside, she figured it’d be hard to hear the door.

She smiled and spread her hands out a little. “I don’t have a jacket to offer and be romantic. I can give you a hug, if you want.”

Oliver headed towards the door, pulling on the handle slowly as it creaked open. "Reyna!" He exclaimed, a grin tilting the corners of his lips up as he recognized his childhood friend.

“Oliver,” she grinned, hugging him. “Heard you guys were having a party over here, thought we’d jump in.”

She smiled and spread her hands out a little. “I don’t have a jacket to offer and be romantic. I can give you a hug, if you want.”

"I'm really sorry" He consoled, putting his arm around her reassuringly. "We will find them"

"Yeah. . . a party." Oliver replied, sighing a little as he glanced back into the room, opening the door further to let Cade and Reyna step in. "Maddie's a little, well. . . mad, at the moment." He explained, pulling out his deck of cards and shuffling them again to distract himself.

“Mine too..” Chelsea mumbled.

"I'm really sorry" He consoled, putting his arm around her reassuringly. "We will find them"

“I’m sorry too, we’ll find our parents. … maybe the baskets are a clue?”

“None of us are holding up so well, I guess. All of Hearts is going to fall. My mom’s gone,” she explained, stepping in. “So is my dad.”

"Really? No sign of them?" Oliver asked, his brow furrowing faintly in concern. It must feel awful to lose their parents. How would you know? You never met yours.

“My dad is gone.” Cade added grimly, “Why are all of our parents missing?”

The kettle started to whistle Maddie continued with the tea preparation. After adding the tea to the water she turned over an hour glass and waits for it to steep. "Oliver you mind helping me carry the cups over to the other room? We can sit at the big table and…" She turned to look at him and sees the girl who he had been flirting with at the party. "…Oh um welcome, I'll get Two? more cups."

"We'll find them," Oliver answered, trying to reassure Reyna. He glanced around the room and noticed a girl standing near the kitchen alone. "I'll be back soon. I just need to check on everyone else." He headed over, flashing a friendly grin at the girl as he continued to shuffle his cards.
