Saffi sat in a chair at the opposite side of the room, her head resting on her arm. If Milo wouldn't have shielded her she would've been hurt horribly, but the only thing wrong was a sprained wrist. Tears ran down her face as she looked at Milo, shaking her head.
The only sound was a gentle beeping of a machine and the gentle breaths from Milo. Jason walks towards Saffi and sits next to her, hugging her side.
She sighs and looks down at Jason. She runs her hands through his hair, trying to calm him down…and herself too.
A gentle shudder of breath, a quiet groan and whimper of pain. Milo panics, unable to open his eyes. Everything was dark. His face was covered in a cloth like thing as he raised his slender fingers to the bandage. "S-Saffi? Jason?" he croaks softly, letting his hand slowly drop.
She stands up and walks over to him slowly. "I'm right here Milo, it's okay," she whispers. "And Jason's here too."
Milo lets out a choked breath. "W-what happened?" His panic was easily heard, his monitor starting to move a little faster.
She holds his hand and sighs. "Calm down, you're going to hurt yourself," she says, wiping off her face. "We got into a car crash…I sprained my wrist, Jason's fine, but they haven't exactly told us how you were hurt," she says sadly.
Milo releases a breath, calming. He was so worried about them. He lifts his hand up, his hand finding her face and gently wiping her tears away. He rests his hand on her jawline. It was so dark, but he could feel her beside him. Jason crawls up to his brothers side, resting his head on his brothers shoulder.
She places her hand on his and sighs. "It's going to be okay," she whispers shakily. "I-I promise."
Milo nods, relaxing. The door opens quietly. "Pardon to intrude." The nurse says softly, "But I have his x-rays." She walks towards the trio. Her eyes are saddened.
"What happened," she asked as she walked in. "Is he okay? God, please tell me he's okay" she pleads.
She smiles thinly, "He'll recover… mostly. His right eye was hit with glass, the other pressure built up, making it harder to see. His leg is broken, as well as his right hand. He has three broken ribs and his left shoulder broke in two places. Other than that, he's fine." she says, "I know that sounds bad, but he'll recover and be alright. His sight… I can't say will return." she hesitates.
"He's fine? That does not sound fine," she whisper-shouts, tears streaming down her face. She falls onto her knees, hiding her face in her hands.
Jason hugs Saffi, looking up at the woman, "Can you help my brother?" He whispers. The nurse nods, "Of course sweetie. We're doing our best." She pats him affectionately on the head. She looks towards Saffi, "I promise we'll do everything we can to help him. He may need to spend a few days here, but he'll be okay."
She looks over at Milo and shakes her head. "If anything happens so help me…" she whispers under her breath.
Milo looks towards the sound of voices, "Just make sure those two are going to be okay." He says, somewhere towards the direction of the nurse. It was dark, but he was trying his hardest not to panic.
(Sorry, had to get my stitches out.)
At the sound of his voice, she starts to cry again. She stands up and paces back and forth, trying to control her emotions, but the tears wouldn't stop. She suddenly looked over at Milo and tilted her head. "What about your parents….should someone call them?" she asks.
"They've been contacted." The nurse assures. Milo reaches his hand out. "It's okay, love. I'll be okay." He says gently.
Saffi walks over to him and takes his hand. "I know…I know…" she whispers, shaking her head gently.
Milo squeezes her hand gently, a small smile forming on his lips, "Hey, don't cry, love. You're to beautiful to cry." he whispers.
She wipes off her face and smiles. "You're hurt and you're still flirting with me," she says, squeezing his hand and laughing softly.
He chuckles, "What can I say?" He smiles at her general direction.
She smiles and shakes her head. "I love you," she whispers.
"love you too." he whispers. He feels Jason curl up by his side.
She sighs and smiles slightly. "Hey, we're alive, if that means anything," she says, trying to lighten the mood.
"Yeah, we are." He smiles a bit before grunting in pain. "His medications will be kicking in at any moment, so he's going to be a little drowsy." The nurse says, leaving some clean hospital gowns.
She nods and kneels down beside him, frowning. "What a weekend this has been," she whispers.
"No kidding." Milo says softly, feeling suddenly heavy and tired. He went quiet, the only sign of life was his vice like grip on Saffi's hand and the gentle rising and falling of his chest.
Saffi smiles and rests her head on the bed, not wanting to leave him.
Jason looks down, his head resting next to his brothers side, "Saffi… do you think he'll be alright?" he asks softly.
