(Nice! Go for it!)
"It's nice to see you, Charlie. Gods, it feels like it's been forever." Aurelius said.
He gave Jekyll a pat on the head.
"But yeah, how have you been keeping? See anything interesting while you were gone?"

"Yeah sorry I was gone so long, not a whole lot but I saw Mount Castro it was amazing" Charlie said being vague as always. Jekyll did a sort of dragon pur as Aurelius pat him on the head. "Anything new around here?" He asked
( I've decided that Zodiac might be the village troublemaker xD. )
(Sounds fun! haha)
"Not really," Aurelius replied, "A lot of the same stuff. I had to go free a dragon from an arena about a month ago when a bunch of knights were going to beat it to death. A lot of people were killed, but it wasn't the poor dragon's fault that everyone is terrible. It was only trying to get away…"
He looked down, deeply saddened by his recollection of the event.
"Every time something like that happens, everyone responds with, 'this is why we have to kill dragons!' It's an endless cycle. At least we have our lives here, where we can coexist."
"I don't understand why people feel the need to do such things, does this seem like something that's going to hurt you" Charlie says as Jekyll nudges at his side relentlessly, wanting to play. "The dragons don't want to harm us they simply want to protect themselves it's basic survival"
Cain's amber eyes shifted as he sensed more individuals appearing. He could hear the sound of beating wings from nearby as another dragon soon landed the fields where Jun laid. However, the dark male ignored them. Zodiac continued to wander beside him. It was strange, since the only company he really had and was used to was his dragon Jun. It was better that way…
"That, I am unsure of girl. Perhaps when you become older they may allow you to leave the village."
He seemingly froze as he heard Zodiac mention 'Be Like you'. Dark amber eyes glanced over towards her. His gaze was cold and harsh. Even his voice had taken a turn to something menacing, "You would be wise to not become like me. I am what many consider a curse, a bad luck charm. They may very well be right, I am no one's blessing. So do not become me, become something better than me."
Then just like that, Cain returned to moving forward. He picked up his pace, only instead of towards where his dragon waited, he went to the tavern.
~You needn't be so harsh. The girl is young, barely a hatchling compared to a dragon's age~.
Cain growled softly, "She has no clue about what I have done, what I am capable of…no one should strive to be a monster."
The dragon's voice was an annoyed growl in his mind ~Cain, you cannot live on hatred alone. I have told you this many of times, yet you still cling to the bitterness of it~.
Cain said nothing to the dragon. He simply grew silent, walking into the tavern, taking his usual seat in a dark corner away from everyone.
Jade soared high into the sky. She smiled at the way the wind flew through her hair. A small giggle escaped her and she threw her hands up, "Woo hoo!"
Dawn released a small fireball and mirrored Jade's happiness. They felt freest in the sky, where no one could judge them.
Zodiac winced at Cain's tone and stopped mid-step, deciding to let him walk ahead of her. It wasn't an odd feeling for her either, to be rejected or pushed away. All her life, she had already been alone. Brushing her dark hair away from her face, she made her way towards the fields, recognizing two young boys around her age. "Charlie?" Zodiac called out as she quickened her pace.
"It is. And by harming dragons who in turn harm them, they are only hurting themselves. It's terrible and unfair, and I'm not sure what we can do about it. We've formed this secret society, and we've been fighting for years, from this gods-forsaken village. I say 'fighting…' We're not really doing much of anything about it most days. wouldn't it make more sense to bring our dragons into another town for 'show-and-tell'? Prove to them that dragons are naught but big old sweethearts?" Aurelius stopped for a second. "Sorry for my spiel. I'm just very passionate about all of this."
"No that's perfectly fine, I would just be worried about our dragons getting hurt-" He got cut off by a familiar voice and turned to Zodiac coming over "Hey!" Charlie replied, Jekyll stopping his playing to look over
Jade landed at the edge of town. She hopped off elated and hugged Dawn. She walked back into town, time to go work on her alchemy.
Zodiac broke into a grin and jogged over to them, her dark hair whipping in the wind. "Did you get back just now?" She asked, finally making it towards the two, stopping and putting her hands on her hips as her dragon, Realm, bounded over. He nuzzled his snout against her hand as she continued to face them.
Aurelius turned when Charlie greeted Zodiac. He waved at the girl and moved over to allow her to physically be closer to the conversation.
"Anyway… yeah… I'm always worried to death about Nox. I think she's adorable, but all everyone else sees is a big scary dragon with wings darker than the night."
"Yeah I just got back a few minutes ago" He greeted Zodiac, turning to welcome her into the conversation "Jekyll may be quick but he's not the strongest for sure so if he can't get away fast enough I don't even want to think about what would happen" He said
Zodiac patted Realm's head as she listened to Charlie and Aurelius talk. "Another attack on the dragons?" She asked, a serious expression replacing her smile.
Jade continued walking as she passed a group of people talking. She doesn't know many people in the town very well and doesn't really know how to introduce herself.
"No, no," Aurelius reassured her, "We're talking hypothetically. I had to rescue a wild dragon from being killed recently, and it just got me to worrying about Nox."
Zodiac nodded, her gaze relaxing. "I've heard from people that their have been more attacks on the wild dragons. If only I could go out there and help myself. . . but the elders won't let me." She sighed, shaking her head faintly.
"I try to help as much as I can when I'm gone" Charlie says "I'm sure they'll let you go someday" He said reassuring Zodiac
"It's not because of your age, though. It's because of who your parents are," Aurelius explained, "They're probably afraid of losing you too. But if you're anything like your parents, you hold great strength, and the Elders are missing out on having you on the team."
"Thanks, Aurelius." Zodiac replied, grinning and blushing faintly from the compliment. Was that true? Just because of her parents, they didn't want her leaving the village?
"Agreed, both you and Realm would do great" He says smiling lightly. A slight breeze blows his blue hair into his face and he pushes it back up. "Besides although I leave a lot I start to miss this place." He says looking to the village "That's why I always come back" He shrugged
"And that's why I only leave on smaller missions," Aurelius admitted, "I don't think I could handle being so homesick. I'd certainly have to go with a group."
"We missed you, Charlie." Zodiac smiled, nudging him playfully as she glanced over and watched Realm bound around the fields. She bit her bottom lip as she thought, wondering if she could convince the elders to let her go with Aurelius and Charlie. They would most likely say no. Maybe Cain would say yes? She doubted that too.
Jade sighed as she walked up to her house. She walked to the back to see if she could harvest anything from her garden.
Charlie chuckled "Yeah yeah I missed you guys too" He responded he looked over at Jekyll who was currently rolling around, getting covered in grass
"Looks like Jekyll's happy to be back, too," Aurelius said, eyeing the big dragon who was rolling in the grass. He sighed a little.
"I feel like there's something the elders aren't telling us, though…"
Zodiac leaned back against her own dragon, nodding in agreement with Aurelius. "They always seem to be keeping things from us. . . maybe something in the villages." She added, this thought further fueling her excitement of exploring.
The giant red dragon had slowly started to close his yellow eyes, the sun warm against his red, gold, and black scales. The massive beast released a loud prrum which sounded like a faint rumble of thunder. The ground seemingly vibrated around him. He remained in the field, awaiting his rider's return. He already knew what Cain was doing at the moment, trying to drink his sorrows away. Something his rider did now and then.
The dragon released a loud sigh. The tip of his tail twitched every now and then as he remained laying in place. His head slowly turned to the side, taking note of the small group. He had noticed the smaller dragon, which was soon joined by several other dragons. Even compared to the dragons present, Jun was a giant compared to them all. However, his size came with age. He himself could not even remember his own age.
Small streams of black smoke started to rise from his nostrils as he continued to observe from his spot in the field.
Jade looked through her garden picking up anything that was ripe. Dawn was waiting outside the front door, having been ban from the garden after an incident a few weeks ago. Jade returned to the front she looked to Dawn and smiled, ~When are you going to talk to others?
Jade looked at Dawn, "What do you mean? I'm fine by myself ya know."
Dawn rolled her eyes, ~No you're not. You're a social creature, and I do not count.
Jade let out a small whine, "Do I have to?"
Dawn snorted, ~Eventually.
