"I love it." Cassie grinned, looking back over at her. She tucked a few strands of wet hair behind her ear as she continued to look around, leaning back against Lilith.
She grinned, pleased with herself, and started helping Cassie to go sit down on the sand. After they made it, she didn’t move her arm from around her shoulders.
Cassie leaned her head against Lilith, looking at the water lapping against the sand as she picked up a faint purple rock and rolled it between her fingers. "Do you like to read novels?" Cassie asked, trying to start a conversation as she looked up.
“I’ve read a few, yeah,” she said. “Pride and Prejudice. Um, some Charles Dickens. I like poetry better, I think. Oh! I liked Sherlock Holmes. What about you?”
"I like classics too," Cassie explained as she nodded faintly. "When I was in the hospital, my dad read me a lot of books. I especially liked The Fault In Our Stars, because Augustus was like me." She played around with her damp hair as she looked around the cove. "He used to read me Shakespeare, and constantly repeated the quote;
'The Fault, my dear Brutus, is not in the stars, but in ourselves.' " Cassie quoted, trying an English accent but failing miserably as she looked up at Lilith and blushed.
“Well, he’s not wrong,” she said, laughing as she turned to face her. “I’ve never read The Fault In Our Stars. I’ll have to check it out sometime.”
"It's good. John Green is quite the philosopher, so some parts are harder to understand." Cassie answered, leaning against Lilith. "Tell me more about you. Hobbies, quirks, obsessions." She finally said after a long pause, a soft smile tilting the corners of her lips up.
“Let’s see,” she said slowly, hugging Cassie close. “I love swimming, and the ocean. I love poetry too, though I can’t really write it. I find fire fascinating. And glass art, you know? Like the big suspended sculptures of glass. I miss the family I never knew sometimes.” What a lie. You don’t miss your real family, you miss the ones from 200 years ago. “a few years ago, I met a little boy who gave me a flower and said I was pretty. For some reason, I remember that a lot. I love exploring the various dark corners of the internet, I love the show Supernatural, and I absolutely adore your smile,” she finished with a grin, brushing hair out of Cassie’s face.
That made Cassie smile even wider, revealing a dimple on her left cheek. "Glass art? I'm always scared I'll knock them over." She answered, chuckling lightly.
( I literally found out two weeks ago that I had a dimple. xD After all this time. . . I never knew. And a month ago I figured out that I had a double row of eyelashes. )
(I'm figuring out all sorts of things these days)
//lmao nice
“I think that’s a very rational fear,” she said, kissing Cassie’s forehead. “But I’ll take the risk.”
"You could be a professional risk taker, doing any dares that people tell you to," Cassie began, blushing as Lilith kissed her forehead. "Like, 'Walk through an entire hallway of glass sculptures without knocking any over!' "
“Now, if it were a properly set up museum, that wouldn’t be that hard. But if it was specifically made for the dare…” she shrugged, laughing.
"R-really?" Kameo blushed, leaning back into his chair.
“Of course! That’s pretty impressive. I think if I tried to dance, I’d fall straight on my face,” Cyrus said with a chuckle.
"I could teach you." he suggested, taking a careful sip of his hot cocoa that was starting to cool down, but not quite yet.
“Really? You’d do that?” Cyrus asked, brows raiding as he watched Kam.
Kameo tapped his fingers on the side of his cup. "Yeah, I mean, if you want." Cyrus had nice eyebrows. Like, really nice eyebrows. He looked away, hoping his blush would go away.
“Oh, totally! What’s your number? We can talk about times when we are free,” Cyrus said happily, leaning forward as he took out his phone.
“Now, if it were a properly set up museum, that wouldn’t be that hard. But if it was specifically made for the dare…” she shrugged, laughing.
Cassie smiled as she looked down at the sand, running her fingers through the grains. She felt like she had finally found someone. Someone who didn't think that her hair color was odd. Someone who didn't stare at her prosthetic like it wasn't supposed to be there. "Thank you for taking me here." Cassie finally said as she looked up at Lilith.
Wait, wait, wait, wait, hold up. Kam, do you think you're emotionally prepared to teach this cute boy how to dance? Oh dear god, don't say that. My confidence is going down. Who cares! Just do it! Remember that quote! Quotes suck. Kameo gave Cyrus a big smile. "Yeah, my number is 319-0105-192."
Cyrus grinned as well, putting Kam’s number into his phone. “There. I’ll make sure to call you,” he said with a playful wink.
"Uh-huh. I'll make sure to wait." Kam avoided eye contact after the wink. Who knows if that flirty gesture would spring out of nowhere again?
Cyrus nodded a bit, stuffing his phone back into his pocket. “Any certain days that you are free?”
"Everyday." he said quickly. "I mean, yeah, I have some free days, mostly not free, 'cause I'm doing. . .not free stuff and I have some. . . plants that need tending. . .so I'm not that free. . .but like, I'm totally free for. . . whatever day you want, I guess."
Cyrus arched a brow, but continued to grin as Kam stammered. What was he so nervous about? “Sounds good. I don’t have any classes tomorrow afternoon. Would that work?”

“You’re welcome, love,” she said, cupping Cassie’s face gently. “I’ve always found it to be a bit of a happy place or safe haven. It felt like you could use it.”
Cassie nodded faintly. "A haven. . . I guess I did need that." She answered, a soft smile tugging the corners of her lips up. "Especially with class and everything."
Cyrus arched a brow, but continued to grin as Kam stammered. What was he so nervous about? “Sounds good. I don’t have any classes tomorrow afternoon. Would that work?”
"Yeah, it would." this was almost like a date, but it wasn't. Kameo smiled and finished off his hot cocoa.
Cyrus nodded, sitting up straight in his chair. He watched as Kam’s red tinted body blinked in and out of his vision. He hated what he was some times. “Great. I’m looking forward to it.”
"Me too." how did he get himself into this mess? Teaching a hot guy how to dance. . .it would be the end of him.
