“So what if instead of having one of us have a benefit, when we all figure out the not being remembered thing and not being able to be touched thing, we just go on with our lives. You do your crimes, we stop your crimes….” Alanna said, oh wow that sounded better in my head. Whelp this isn’t going to work.

He shook his head. "I can't touch people I want to kidnap. And you don't really have any say in this cus you can still touch people and they still remember you."

Ferran's eyes widened. He hugged her tight. "You're okay. We'll fix this."

Tia sniffed loudly. She allowed Ferran's sweet cinnamon scent to envelop her and calm her. She could briefly hear Alanna and Daveed talking in the background.

"It's gonna be okay." He soothed. "We'll figure this out and people will remember us."

"I promise." He squeezed his eyes shut to keep himself from crying.

Alanna sighed, and played with her hair, “That’s not what I meant.”

Daveed shrugged. "I don't even know what I'm talking about."

“Does anyone know anymore?” Alanna sighed, then she muttered, “And I thought this was going to be a normal day.”

"I promise." He squeezed his eyes shut to keep himself from crying.

Tia could hear the sincerity in his voice and she knew that he was not lying. She pulled away regretfully. "Well okay then," she said, her voice tight. She smiled encouragingly at Ferran, but it was still strained.

He smiled softly back. "Come on. Let's go solve this crap."
Daveed whooped. "That's what I like to hear!"

Tia stayed close to Ferran and as far away from Daveed as possible. Working together didn't mean that they constantly had to be near each other.

"So!" Ferran paused. "Where do we start?"
Daveed shrugged. "The other villains? I don't know…."

Ferran turned to Tia. "What do you think?"

"I'm not sure… maybe figure out who knows us and who doesn't. Or figure out why it's me, you, and Daveed."

He nodded. "I already know that the entirety of the school has no clue who I am. And some others, like my dad."
Daveed chimed in. "The grocery store clerk didn't know who I was!"

"My best friend," Tia choked on the words.

Ferran put a hand on her shoulder. "I think checking in with Leo would be a good idea."

"Maybe," Tia shrugged.

Daveed nodded. "I passed him on the street the other day he looked seriously disturbed as he chugged his Redbull."

Ferran nodded. "Okay, we'll stop by his place."
