Charlie smiled at Irae before adjusting her hood and turning to Elric. “You ever been here before?”
“Not that I can remember.” Elric shrugged casually. “But I have heard Sunvien has a pretty impressive library.”
Charlie smiled at Irae before adjusting her hood and turning to Elric. “You ever been here before?”
“Not that I can remember.” Elric shrugged casually. “But I have heard Sunvien has a pretty impressive library.”
Daisy perked up at that.
"I'd love to see it! We're staying here overnight, right?"
Irae smiled back at Charlie, but still watched the surroundings.
"Remind me what specific information I should listen for?"
“I think so.” Elric nodded. “As much as I like traveling, it's always nice to sleep in a bed after a few nights on the ground.”
“Anything that sounds or looks like trouble for Elric specifically.” Charlie shrugged. “Based on what happened at the last town, whoever wants that item isn’t afraid to use any means to get what they want.”

(Thank you)
(No problem)
Irae nodded. "Should we make sure Elric is seen around, then?"
Daisy was keeping an eye out for the library- she was practically bouncing with excitement.
“Yes and no, actually.” Charlie admitted. “We’re not painting a target on him or calling obvious attention to him. There’s something of an art to letting him be seen and watching those who are watching him/us.” she explained.
Elric couldn't help the soft chuckle at Daisy’s eager energy. “Do you enjoy reading?”
Irae nodded. "That makes sense. Should we stay here for a day or two then?"
Daisy nodded. "Books are the best way to learn about medicinal plants. Experimenting is too dangerous. But I've already seen a few plants I've never seen before, ones that look similar to some medicinal plants, and I'd love to know about local herbs!"
“Are you planning on interrogating any attackers?” Charlie smirked playfully, half-teasing before nodding. “Yeah, we’ll probably stay for a couple of days at most.”
Elric gave a thoughtful shrug/nod. “Well, I don't know much about medicinal plants so I’ll take your word on experimenting in that field. But in music… I find experimenting quite rewarding.” he admitted. “But I’m sure the library here has more than enough books for you to study from.” he smiled.
"…." Irae looked at Charlie. "Are we anticipating many attackers?"
"Experimenting with plants can cause death. But yes, sometimes it is rewarding," Daisy noted.
“No idea.” Charlie shrugged, trying not to laugh at Irae’s confusion. “Sorry. You just… for some reason when you asked how long we were going to stay here, you sounded very Paladin.”
Elric nodded. “Right. Very different consequences. And no doubt different levels of difficulty.”
"I'm not a paladin. I'm closest to a fighter, though I have some traits in common with barbarians." Irae protested.
"Likely. Music seems difficult." Daisy teased.
(Sorry for the long wait. The build-up and prep for Thanksgiving kept me pretty busy.)
“I know.” Charlie nodded assuringly. “It's not a bad thing or anything to worry about.”
Elric smirked a little. “To me, what you do seems difficult. Granted I imagine we both spent a lot of time improving and learning.”
( all good!)
Irae nodded, adjusting her hood. "Alright.."
Daisy smiled back. "I've trained since I was six to be a healer, it does take a lot of practice and learning."
Charlie smiled and gently bumped against Irae’s side.
“That's an impressive commitment.” Elric complimented. “For you to pick your passion from such a young age… I have to say I’m a little jealous.”
Irae glanced at Charlie, confused, before noting the smile. Irae hesitated, then gently bumped Charlie back.
"My mom was a healer. I admired her." Daisy explained.
Charlie’s smile grew with a playful giggle as Irae returned the gesture.
Elric nodded. “I wish I could say that my parents were my inspiration to become a bard. But, while they enjoyed music, neither of them played.” he shrugged.
Irae hesitated, then smiled back.
"Why did you become a bard?" Daisy asked, curiously.
Charlie chuckled again before softening. “You can let me know if I’m being too much. I was just feeling a little playful.”
Elric blinked for a second, as if processing the question. “I… I’ve always liked music. I remember there being a lot in my childhood, usually in some other room or something… but I never really…” he shook his head. “I picked it up before I join the… well it wasn't really a guild, just a group of people with skills for causing and dealing with trouble.”
"Not too much." Irae assured Charlie, smiling at her, before turning back to watch the surrounding.
Daisy smiled. "Are you still in that not-a-guild?"
“Good to know.” Charlie nodded, her shoulders relaxing slightly. “Let's find the inn and see what rooms we can get.”
Elric shook his head. “After finding… the object and considering they’re hunting me for it I think it's safe to say that I'm not officially part of it anymore.”
Irae nodded, staying close to Charlie.
Daisy paused. She hasn't made that connection. "Ah. I'm sorry."
Elric couldn't help the brief chuckle at Daisy’s realization. “It's all right. It's not unusual for someone to leave or abandon that kind of group for one reason or another.” he assured. “Though there are rare cases where that person can be reinstated. Not sure if that's what’ll happen for me though.”
“Hey, do you two want to come with us to the inn or keep talking on your way to the library?” Charlie asked, still standing beside Irae.
"We should probably know where the inn is before going to the library, but I could do either." Daisy said, looking at Elric.
Irae glanced at Daisy and Elric, before continuing to watch their surroundings.
Elric nodded. “Let's go to the inn first. We can drop off our packs and have a safe meet-up spot if there’s an emergency or anything.”
“Sounds good to me.” Charlie chirped, taking Irae’s hand.
Irae nodded in agreement, holding Charlie's hand gently.
Daisy also nodded, adjusting her bag. "That's a good plan. Rae, how are your wounds feeling?"
Irae shrugged. "Fine. Thanks."
Elric raised a brow at the mention of Rae being wounded but didn't press.
“Alright. Let's find the inn.” Charlie nodded. “Maybe we’ll get lucky this time.” she teased with a wink at Irae.
( I completely forgot Elric didn't already know)
