Charlie hummed softly as she turned over, still half-asleep in the early hour. The sun was just barely starting to rise, painting the sky in warming shades of gold and red.
Irae was still asleep, though she was sleeping lightly and would likely wake up soon. In her sleep, she was mouthing words, though not making any noise to accompany them. She had the blanket up to her chin, holding it tight, not letting it fall.
Charlie yawned, rubbing her eyes as she slowly woke up. She remembered the plan for them to get up and leave the village early but when it was this early… it was still hard to do.
Irae turned over slowly, her eyes cracking open, although she obviously wasn't really awake yet. "Don't go-" she muttered, though it was unclear if he was subconsciously talking to Charlie or to something in a dream.
“Wha-” Charlie mumbled, propping herself up slightly as she looked at Irae. “‘M not going anywhere yet.” she answered despite her confusion. “You ok, Irae?” she asked as she placed her hand on the goddess’s shoulder.
Irae blinked awake. "Huh? Yeah, I'm fine. Are you?" She asked, confused. She sat up, looking around. "Did something happen?"
“I’m fine. But… are you ok?” Charlie asked with a furrowed brow. “You just said “don't leave”. Were you having a nightmare or something?”
Irae looked at Charlie. "I did? No, I don't think I was having a nightmare. I don't think I was dreaming at all." She said, stretching.
"Ok." Charlie nodded, sitting up fully and stretching her arms over her head. "If you're sure you're alright. We should probably be getting ready anyway." she reminded.
Irae nodded. "Sounds good." She said, getting up and grabbing some clothing. "I'm going to change now." She added, as an afterthought.
"Me too." Charlie responded as she slid out of bed and grabbed her cleanest travel outfit. "Hopefully we'll be able to get a quick breakfast before we have to leave. Who knows when the next town will be." sshe pointed out with a shrug.
Irae nodded. "Alright" she said, quickly dressing and packing, slinging her sword and bag on. "I'm ready to go." She said, when she had finished.
Charlie likewise got changed quickly and made sure that she had everything in her pack. “Me too.” she said, double-checking her weapons.
Irae nodded and opened the door for Charlie, holding it politely. "Grabbing breakfast then heading out?" She confirmed.
“Sounds like a plan to me.” Charlie shrugged with a smile at Irae’s actions before leading the way to the tavern area. “I wonder if Elric is already up.”
Irae shrugged. "Maybe. Maybe he's getting breakfast right now too. Did we get his room number last night? If he's not up, we might want to wake him so we can get going on time."
“Hopefully, he’s already at a table.” Charlie agreed. “I don't think we got his room number but if he’s late, we can ask the innkeeper where he is.” she explained, doubtful they’d have any trouble finding Elric.
"That seems a little- unsettling.." she said, referring to the ability to just ask what his room number is. "That seems like it shouldn't be able to happen."
“Why?” Charlie asked, raising a brow in innocent confusion.
“Ladies, over here!” Elric called out once he saw them and waved them over to his table.
Irae shrugged. "Makes it easy for assassins, thieves, or other people to find them and hurt them, dosen't it?" She asked, walking over to the table.
"I mean… yeah, but those assassins and thieves aren't exactly known for asking where their target is." Charlie pointed out. "They just sneak in a window or wait till the door is unguarded and creep in." she shrugged.
Elric raised a brow at the conversation they were already in the middle of but let them finish. "I hope you both slept well."
Irae shrugged. "I guess." She said, before turning to Eldric.
"I slept fine." She said curtly.
Charlie subtly tapped Irae’s arm with her tail for her tone, reminding her to be nice, as she sat down next to her. “Me too.” she answered with a polite smile. “And you? You seem well-rested.”
“Well enough at least.” Elric chuckled with a note of tiredness. “It's interesting how a scuffle like the one that brought us together can make one so drained and yet so wired at the same time.”
Irae glanced at Charlie, sighing. "Yeah. Should we eat and go?" She asked, with a lighter tone.
"Yes, let's." Elric smiled, waving over a waiter.
Charlie gave Irae a small smile for the attempt and nodded. "Let's keep it simple today." she suggested. "Quicker for them to make."
Irae nodded. "Whatever you think I should get." She said simply, not caring much.
(Since you have two characters, do you want to drag Daisy along so our responses are similar lengths as we'd play the same amount of people?)
"Honestly, I'm just going to have some porridge.” Charlie admitted with a shrug, leaving the suggestion somewhat veiled as Elric ordered tea for the table.
(I’m not against Daisy joining the party if you want to include her.)
Irae nodded. "I will too then." She said, leaning back in her chair. "Should we stop by Daisy's place to thank her again before we leave?" She asked. "She did manage to heal me in two days.."
Charlie tilted her head thoughtfully at the suggestion while Elric perked up.
“Not to intrude, but I think the idea of having a professional healer is always a good idea.” Elric admitted to Rae. “Do you know if she has adventuring experience?”
Irae shrugged. "Nope. She seems like she could probably handle herself in a fight though." Irae said. She thought for a moment, and nodded. "She seems too experienced to have learned all she knows from a book. She's probably done some sort of adventuring before."
