Charlie smiled and took Irae’s hand as she grabbed her bag and smoothly got to her feet. “Yes, we shall.” she agreed. “See you in the morning, Elric.”
“Rest well, ladies.” Elric smirked, giving a nod that was both playful and gentlemanly.
Irae nodded slightly at Eldric and went with Charlie to their room, where she set her bag down and unhooked her sword from her waist. "You seemed excited about this, just because it's an adventure, or is there something more there?"
Charlie shook her head as they entered their room. “Mostly because it's an adventure. But it also feels like an important one.” she admitted. “But getting to go on an adventure like this with you… I have a hard time believing that the idea wouldn't excite a person.” she grinned, her tail flicking happily. She knew they were very unlikely to tell Elric who Irae was, and she was fine with that. Plus, it would be interesting to see how Elric interacted with Rae.
Irae smiled slightly. "Well, it does sound important. And it seems like a way to help me understand you all better. So I'm glad to be joining you." She said calmly, melting a bit at the excited way Charlie was flicking her tail.
Charlie looked up at Irae and nodded. “I’m glad you're coming along too.” she smiled genuinely, assuming that when Irae made that comment about understanding better that she meant in general.
(she did lol)
"Should we head to bed? Or is there something else you want to do before we head to sleep?" She asked, sitting on the edge of the bed.
"Are you actually tired or just don't know what to do right now?" Charlie asked, sitting next to Irae. "Of course, if you really do want to sleep now, that's fine too."
Irae shrugged. "I am not super tired, but I could sleep. I wouldn't know what else to do right now." She said, leaning her head back.
“That's fair.” Charlie assured. “I guess we should have figured out where exactly we’re going to be heading.” she admitted. “We can ask in the morning. Where this guy who wants the mirror is, if there’s a way to destroy it, or if it's too dangerous to destroy… Stuff like that.”
Irae nodded. "Those are all good things to consider. When traveling without an inn, is there some sort of overhead cover or just the bedrolls?" She asked.
“I have a tent, but I really only used it when the weather demands it or if it's too dangerous not to.” Charlie shrugged. “Otherwise, I enjoy just sleeping under the sky.”
Irae nodded. "Sounds good to me. What about on really cold nights? Will the bedrolls be warm enough?" She asked. "Leaving a fire unattended seems like a bad idea."
“It generally is a bad idea.” Charlie nodded. She quickly bit her tongue as a quip she probably shouldn't say came to mind before clearing her throat. “It depends on how cold it is. The tent makes a great insulator but we can always buy extra blankets when we need them. Or… well, I've been on an adventure or two where our group had to huddle together for warmth but that's usually the last case scenario.” she admitted.
Irae nodded. "That makes sense. Is there anything else I should know about adventuring before we head out in the morning?" She asked, leaning forward to slid her boots off.
“I can't really think of anything.” Charlie shrugged. “It's pretty easy to pick these things up. But if you have any questions on the road, you can just ask me.” she assured.
Irae nodded. "That's fair, should we head to bed then? It's decently late and we should get a good rest." She noted.
"Alright." Charlie nodded, streching a little. "Do you want me to check your bandages again in the morning?"
Irae nodded. "That would be great. I'm going to change, now that I have clothes and can, so…" She said, shrugging. She had picked up that getting naked in front of people with no warning was probably not the best thing to do, so she warned Charlie.
"Sure." Charlie chuckled, appreciating the heads up. "I'll do the same then too. I promise I won't look."
Irae shrugged. "I mean, I really don't care either way. I won't look at you though." She said, turning and grabbing some of the clothes she had just bought.
Charlie shrugged, not really bothered by it either. “Well, I guess that's something else I should… If it was just you and me traveling, I wouldn't bring it up but since we're going to be on the road with Elric…” she pointed out. “Most of the bards I've traveled with tend to be the biggest flirts but to avoid… awkward situations, you might want to change in the tent, if it's up, or behind a tree for privacy.” she suggested as she grabbed her own night clothes.
Irae nodded. "Good to know." She said, changing quickly before sitting back on the bed. "Bigger flirts than you are to the waiters?" She asked, teasing lightly.
Charlie laughed, not minding the tease. “Some are. But I do it just for fun and teasing. Bards, on the other hand, have more on their minds beyond that.” she clarified as she changed. “So don't be surprised, or jealous, if Elric flirts with either of us. He doesn't know who you are and I’m just a normal young lady. Some of his comments might even come off sounding flirty when he’s just trying to be polite or charming.” she warned.
Irae shrugged. "I probably won't catch it." She said, laying down with her eyes closed. She sighed. "Will the adventure be dangerous? Are you likely to get hurt? Daisy made it seem like it would be harder to hurt me than people would think, but-"
"It's possible." Charlie nodded as she climbed into bed. "Honestly, the best adventures generaly have a good amount of risk to them. I already have a few scars from some of the ones I've been on but, we'll be fine." she assured.
Irae nodded. "Alright, I believe you. I think that's all the questions I have today. I might have more tomorrow though." She said, pulling the blanket up.
Charlie smiled softly before stifling a yawn as she lay down with Irae. “Ok. I’ll do my best to answer them when you have any.” she promised. “Good night, Irae.”
"Good night." She said, turning to the side. She fell asleep quickly, breathing softly.
