Irae followed closely, walking into the store and following Charlie to the travelers clothing. She picked out a couple pairs of sturdy pants, a couple dark-colored cloaks (a lightweight one and a heavier one), and several long sleeve shirts and tunics, in various soft but dark colors. She also grabbed a hat with a wide brim, and, after much deliberation, a dress in a neutral tone. She showed and confirmed with Charlie after each decision.
Charlie smiled a little excitedly as she helped Irae with as many questions as she could. She wouldn't deny that she liked the choices Irae made, finding them quite practical. Not that she’d expect anything less from this selection of the store. “Do you want anything else while we’re here?” she asked as she looked over Irae’s intended purchase.
Irae shrugged, looking around. "Is there anything else I should want? Gear would be in a different store, right? Or am I just not seeing it?" She asked. "I'm not use to only two eyes-"
“No, you're right,” Charlie assured. “Most gear is sold in specialty shops, depending on what you're looking for. Apothecary, blacksmith… places like that.” She raised a brow at the mention of Irae’s multiple eyes but nodded. “I guess that would mess with how you see things… but you didn't miss anything.”
Irae nodded. "I use to be able to see scales too. Things that helped me see what a person had done in their life- good or bad. I don't see those anymore."
"I bet those were very important for your job." Charlie mused, thinking how helpful those could be in everyday life as well. But she kinda understood why she couldn't see them now.
Irae shrugged. "They helped with a lot of things. Should we go get the rest of the gear I need?" She asked, changing the subject.
"Yeah." Charlie nodded, picking up on Irae's hint. "If you want we can go see that elf healer next." she suggested, thinking that they could return the cloak, as well as have her injuries checked again, now that Irae had her own.
Irae nodded. "Sounds good." She said, following Charlie out. She was too out of it the night before to remember the way.
Daisy was in her house, mixing and crushing herbs and medicinal plants into medicine, ointments, and similar medical things.
Charlie smiled as she headed in the direction she remembered from last night (after she paid for Irae’s new clothes, of course).
It took a little longer because they weren't coming straight from the inn, but Charlie recognized enough of the buildings to get them there.
Irae approached the door. "She told us to just go in, and if she's not home, leave the cloak, right? I think that's what I made out, though I could have been wrong-" she asked.
Charlie shrugged, not remembering exactly what Daisy said, and just knocked on the door. “Daisy? You home?” she called out before carefully pushing the door open.
Daisy called out in response. "Yeah, give me just a second!" She said, finishing up what could be be paused and pausing everything else. She walked into the room, and smiled warmly. "Irae, you seem to be healing well!"
Irae nodded, holding out Daisy's cloak.
"Hope we're not interupting anything." Charlie smiled back. "We just stopped in to restock our medical supplies, return your cloak, and get Irae checked out one more time." she shrugged, still smiling.
Daisy nodded, taking the cloak and putting it away. "Alright! And no, I wasn't too busy. Just making medicine. What medical supplies can I get you?" She said, guiding Irae to sit and unwrapping the bandages around her tail first.
“Oh, just the standard stuff.” Charlie assured with a wave of her hand. “And any additional medicine that Irae might need as she’s still healing.”
Daisy nodded, applying medicine to Irae's tail, and rewrapping it. "It's healing nicely. Faster than I thought it would." She lifted Irae's shirt and unwrapped her wing bandages. "You must still have some lingering benefits of being a goddess." Daisy noted, applying the same medicine and re-wrapping it, before turning to gather the medical supplies they requested.
Charlie leaned back casually against the wall, completely at ease as she watched Daisy patiently taking care of Irae’s wounds.
Irae sighed. "I guess it's probably a good sign that they couldn't sever me from my power completely. This suggests that they didn't remove it, just blocked it somehow. That suggests I can get them back somehow-" She said, watching Daisy. "I like her. She doesn't bother with extra talk, she just does her job and does it quickly."
"She is good." Charlie nodded before pushing off the wall slightly. "But the fact that you still have access to some level of your powers is an interesting discovery. And you got me for all the "extra talk" anyway." she chuckled with a playful wink. "So, we can talk about this stuff more whenever you wnat to."
Irae shrugged. "Alright."
Daisy came out with a small bag with medicine and bandages. "There you go! Is there anything else I can help you with today?" She asked politely
“Honestly, I can't think of anything else.” Charlie admitted with a shrug as she accepted the bag. “But I think we’re going to stay one more night so Irae can finish recovering… especially with how fast she’s apparently healing, and make sure we have everything. Besides, we trust you, darling.” she smiled.
Daisy smiled warmly. "That sounds great. If you need anything, stop by! Feel free to leave me a note if I'm not home. If I don't see you before you leave town, good luck on your adventure!" She said, happily.
Irae nodded at her, staying silent.
"We certainly will." Charlie promised with a nod. "And thank you. For all your help." she added, quickly glancing at Irae before returning Daisy's smile.
Daisy nodded, standing there awkwardly. "Do you mind if I go back to making medicine? I don't want to be rude and leave you at the door-" She muttered.
“No, no.” Charlie chuckled, shaking her head. “Don't let us keep you from your work. We have a couple more stores to visit anyway.”
As Daisy left, smiling and bidding them goodbye, Irae stood and followed Charlie out. "Where to next?"
“I was thinking we could look at weapons, figure out what fits your fighting style.” Charlie admitted with a small shrug.
Irae nodded. "Sounds good. Definitely a sword? I like those. I'm not a ranged fighter, but also not a dagger fighter.."
“I know what you mean.” Charlie smirked, her hand resting on the hilt of her rapier. “Swords are a classic choice, in my opinion. But I don't mind getting up close and personal with a dagger when necessary.” She shrugged casually as she led the way to the nearest blacksmith’s shop. “What kind of sword do you like?”
