(It's ok. Hope you had fun! And don't worry about your trip. Just reply whenever.)
Charlie paused for a moment as she reached for her bag before looking for the bandages. “Oh. I always thought that the wings were symbolic as well as functional,” she admitted softly. “The burnt one representing your position as goddess of wrath, and the other representing justice.”
"Yeah, I think they are? But I can't fly with them. They do make decent shields though." She said, shrugging.
Charlie nodded thoughtfully as she replaced the bandages. “Well, when you become… reclaim your position, title, and powers, I hope that, regardless of how your wings look, you’ll be able to fully fly too.”
Irae nodded. "That would be nice. I hope so too, though I kind of doubt it… And thank you, again, for all your help. What should we do today?" She asked, changing the subject.
“Hey, I'm glad to help.” Charlie assured as she finished wrapping the bandages. “Let's see… normally I don't usually stay more than a day or two in a town or anything but you need to rest and heal so…” she shrugged. “We’ll need to stock up on supplies. Food, a bedroll for you, some more medical supplies… we can get you your own travelers bag and tent if you'd like.” she suggested thoughtfully. “I… don't suppose you have your own weapon right now, do you?”
Irae shrugged. "I would normally use my tail and a sword, but they mutilated my tail and took my sword. So no-" she said, sighing. "I'm sorry- I've got nothing going for me right now."
“That's ok. No need to apologize.” Charlie assured, gently placing a hand on Irae’s shoulder. “We’ll just have to visit the local blacksmith and see if we can find a good sword for you there. Oh… and about your tail. I don't know how flexible it is or what you can use it for now, but I don't want you to try to scratch at your bandages with it.” she pointed out.
Irae watched her curiously. "I won't. It's not sharp right now, and the tip of it is also hurt, so I couldn't anyway. Thank you for looking out for me?" She asked, trying to be polite.
“It's no trouble to repeat something I’ve heard from doctors before. Granted my tail is notedly prehensile so they didn't have to guess with me on that.” Charlie shrugged with a semi-playful smile. “Anyway, I finished with your bandages so if you want to get dressed, we can go down for breakfast.” she said as she spun around on the bed to get her own gear together.
Irae nodded, getting dressed and standing near the door. "Alright, I'm ready. Is there anything I can do to help?"
Charlie easily pulled her weapon belts on, straightened her clothes, slipped on her boots, and grabbed her bags. “Uh… I can't think of anything.” she admitted. “But I'm ready to go too.”
Irae nodded, pulling her cloak over her face again and opening the door, holding it for Charlie. "Lead the way."
Charlie adjusted her cloak and gave a playful curtsy as Irae opened the door. "Thank you." she smiled teasingly, giggling a little as she headed down the stairs.
(driving to the airport-)
Irae smiled slightly and followed her down. "What should we have for breakfast?" She asked, watching carefully for any threats as they move.
Charlie shrugged. “Honestly, I think most places have more options for breakfast than for later meal options. There’s warm porridge, biscuits, sausage, bacon, eggs cooked all kinds of different ways… oh! I wonder if this place has pan-fried toast.” she smiled as she remembered the sweet dish.
Irae blinked. "I'm leaving you to order for me again." She said, not knowing what any of those options tasted like.
Charlie chuckled a little at Irae's reaction as they grabbed a table. "Ok, if you're sure." she nodded. "How hungry are you?"
Irae shrugged. "I wouldn't know. I'm new to these feelings." She said. "I don't know how to tell 'how' anything I am."
Charlie hummed thoughtfully at that, her tail flicking sharply. “Ok… oh! What about that meat pie you had yesterday? Did you feel like… Was that enough yesterday?” she asked trying to come up with a point of reference for Irae to associate with.
Irae nodded. "I didn't feel hungry after that, and I feel about the same amount of hungry as then" she said.
“Good. That helps.” Charlie smiled as the server approached their table. “Let's see I’ll have some green tea this morning. Would you like some too, Rae?” she asked.
Irae nodded "Sure. I'll try it." She said, looking intently at the server. Not threateningly, but very intently.
Charlie nodded back, giving the server a small smile. “And… do you have pan-fried toast here?”
“Uhh, yes. Actually, we do.” the server replied, raising a concerned brow at how “Rae” was staring.
“Great! I’ll have that.” Charlie beamed. “And my friend will have an order of bacon and eggs… over medium.”
Irae nodded again, looking away from the server and over to Charlie. "That sounds good. Thank you." She said politely to both the server and Charlie.
Charlie grinned as the server nodded before leaving. “I hope you like it. It's a pretty classic breakfast meal. And if you want, you can try a bite of my toast.” she offered. “See if you like sweet stuff.”
Irae nodded. "That sounds good. Thank you. I would like to." She said, scanning the rest of the room.
Charlie shrugged. “I just figure, if you're going to be… here for a while, then why not figure out what your tastes are. Favorite foods, drinks… sweet, sour, savory… stuff like that.” she explained.
Irae nodded. "That makes sense. Thank you. Then after breakfast we get the supplies you talked about earlier?" She asked, gently tapping the table.
