(Hey guys, just popping in to kind of quietly ask to tone down the politics topic a bit. I completely understand the tension/anxiety/etc, being an American myself and in a household that is split between sides, but politics in general is a firestarter for arguments and controversy, especially when mentions of triggering activities are involved, so I would appreciate it if these conversations are moved to PMs, if possible, to help avoid making folks uncomfortable)

Okie.

…… Eli, I don't believe in the devil, but either way I can say that if that's what it sounds like, it's a bad idea and probably a cult.

oh honey no- they don't even believe in that. they're a group of activists who made a recognized religion so people can have bodily atonomy. basically they help people who can or cant have kids have abortions, help LGBTQ people, and help anyone with basic human rights by saying its a part of their religion. they've started abortion clinics, fundraising for LGBTQ and more. its like a religious exemption for things the government would now be denying us. its like a 'screw you' to their opposite.

they don't believe in gods or spiritual stuff. their whole thing is that they believe in science and that superstition is bad. BUT they still let people who believe in gods in just as long as they don't bring it into the religion. I'd suggest looking at their website and seeing for yourself. they're a great cause to support. trust me when I say they don't do what you think they do. they're all really nice people.

Oh, thanks so much for the clarification. It certainly sounded like a cult. I'm glad you're in a good place

^^ snugs yeah I don't like organized religion. the satanic temple just kinda- pretends to be organized so its recodnized as a real religion. there's 'churches' of it about an hour from me rn in Texas :D tho I'm planning on setting one up where I live. its more like a get together to chill. we don't do praying, we don't do sacrifices or anything. we literally just gather around to be like "free will?" "YESSIR"
