Google chrome can only prompt people to download a webpage to be available for offline reading. It would save the file as an offline HTML file. It can do more if you download an extension, such as a webpage downloader, and you can download an entire webpage. You can also regularly bookmark a page for quick access. Chrome will not prompt you to download an app, unless you click on it yourself. If it's none of those, can you send me a screenshot of what it's done so I can send it to andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer)? It would mean someone is posing as him, and getting people to download potentially malicious links.

Ah. That is for it to download a dedicated shortcut. It's virtually the same thing as a bookmark.
Still, Notebook shouldn't have that prompt. It's never had it. If it was something that mirrored the page, you more than likely downloaded a virus. Which is unfortunate.

I can say with 110% certainty, that it was not an app for Notebook. I got the lead man's words saying that there is not one yet. You either downloaded a virus, a trojan horse of an app, or you blatantly said an untruth. I believe you better than that, so I do not believe the last one.
I believe it was a virus, so go get it checked out. Don't put in any important passwords or info until after you confirmed your phone is good again.
