Abraham was wandering the halls, taking in the familiar sights of the building. How happy he was to be back here. Though, he did miss home. Specifically his best friend, Marley, who was at home. He sighed, reaching for the key, attached to his neck by a chain. He would see her again, during Christmas break. She had to focus on her studies, just as he did.

'Perhaps I'll write her a letter, letting her know I've arrived safely. I assume Todd's been safely put up in the owlery, if I hurry now, I can slip away without anyone knowing.'

Without another thought, Abraham spun around, away from the Great Hall, and headed in the opposite direction, towards the stairs leading to the owlery. As he spun a corner, he spotted two people standing there. Taken aback, he almost fell over in surprise. He managed to keep his balance.

Ruth was sitting in the Ravenclaw common room, completely oblivious to the conversation that was happening

This is my character from Hogwarts Mystery before the game went and deleted all my progress and I rage-quit. I'll probably be using elements from the game for her backstory, if that's okay.

Appearance: Short black hair usually pulled in a ponytail; green eyes; skin tone is pale as Draco Malfoy; preferred style is fluffy sweaters and comfy pants
Personality: Surprisingly sociable and caring for a Slytherin; loves making friends from all Houses and cliches; quick-witted and good at solving puzzles; has a big heart
Fun Facts: She owns a Barn Owl named Soren; her older brother went missing in his fifth year, and Alexa is trying to find him; her best friends are a Ravenclaw named Rowen and a Gryffindor named Ben

“Oh, cool.” I said as we ventured toward the diner, “I’ve never been to one of these before.”
“Well, there’s a first time for everything.” Melonee replied, “Ansley’s has some of the best burgers in Mizu, and their salads aren’t half-bad either.”
“Sounds awesome.” I said. A little bell above the door tinkled as we entered, and I cast my gaze about, soaking everything in. The restaurant was a bright, cheerful place with a good number of people, though it was not necessarily packed. Everyone looked comfortable and happy, munching on burgers, fried chicken wings, salads, and even pancakes and waffles. They apparently served everything, no matter what time of day it was. What I found most interesting of all were the one or two Elementals that were either curled up under tables or sitting in the booth next to their Whisperer. A black labrador with purple gems trailing down its back like spikes was sleeping under the table near its Whisperer’s feet, and a tiny Earth sparrow was preening its feathers on the back of a booth.
A small crowd was gathered around one table, captivated by a lithe, gray ferret with a french fry balanced on its nose. I paused for a moment to watch. Carefully, the animal rose on its hind legs, and the onlookers gasped in astonishment as it stood up straight and tall, the french fry poised erect on its nose. The creature’s Whisperer, a teenage boy with shoulder-length blond hair, sat by, looking smug. With a flick of its nose, the ferret suddenly launched the french fry up into the air. A puff of flame erupted from the animal’s tiny maw, toasting the fry instantly. The ferret caught the blackened fry in its mouth and ate it in two bites. The audience cheered.
“All right, all right, that’s enough,” A waiter said, moving to break up the crowd, “You’ve had your fun, now go sit down and eat.”

Alexa weaved through the masses of students, dragging Rowen behind her as she scanned the crowd. She knew the Sorting Ceremony was going to start soon, but she didn't want to have to sit down without saying hi to–
"There he is!"
Alexa looked in the direction Rowen was pointing and spotted a familiar golden-blond head sitting nearby at the Gryffindor table. With a grin, Alexa pushed through the last few students, and she and Rowen glomped the blond from behind.
"BEN!!"
Ben shrieked and would have jumped straight out of his seat if the girls weren't pinning him to his chair. He looked around wildly before he finally seemed to register who had attacked him, and his body visibly relaxed.
"D-Don't scare me like that," he said meekly. Alexa and Rowen giggled in unison.
