The woman hums.
"Did you guys try going back the way you came?" she asks, the exact question Wren had asked that nobody had answered.
The woman hums.
"Did you guys try going back the way you came?" she asks, the exact question Wren had asked that nobody had answered.
"Uuhh… I'm not sure which way we came," Phoenix admits, glancing around helplessly, "I only just got here a little while ago."
“I, uh, might’ve had something to do with this?” Cole yelps as both the woman and Phoenix whip around to look at him. “I-I mean! We were in the house - it’s a rip in reality type of house - and there was a melted clock with a small door inside of it. I simply wanted to see the door but when I touched the glass it…it sunk underneath my fingers and then I came through and ended up…” Cole gestures around the group. “A not so wonderous wonderland.”
(Alright Gn! Ttyl!)
(Kk, see ya!)
(See ya later Luna!)
The woman thinks for a moment, narrowing her eyes.
"Well, first off, that's a completely fucked concept. Second off, it's simple. Think of the house and wish for directions. If this is a Fae World, then you should be able to do that." she sighs.
Phoenix stares.
"Fae World…" he murmurs under his breath, "Right… Um, how to explain this politely?"
He thinks for a moment before he admits bluntly, "One; I don't think this is a Fae World. Second; I don't even know what the Emerelm a Fae World is. Third… can everyone please stop assuming this place is like the stuff they're used to, because so far, I have seen nothing remotely similar to my world, so I don't know how it's supposed to be anything like everyone else's worlds, and I'm honestly barely surviving the insanity that is this dannan place!"
The woman raises a casual eyebrow at Pheonix's tirade.
"One, watch your langauge - don't think I didn't understand those curses, kid - and two, how would you know this isn't a Fae World if you don't know what a Fae world even is?" she counters. "And three, just because you haven't seen anything similar doesn't mean the rest of us haven't."
Phoenix blows out a breath, "I'm tired. Half the people here are some kind of demigod, and it's very overwhelming. I just want to go back to having semi-normal conversations where everyone tells me about weird foods and we talk about magic pets. Is that so much to ask?"
He pauses before he adds, "The words I was using are hardly curses; Shay, now, she's pretty bad about swearing. We've been trying to talk her out of it."
(I'm sorry, Phoenix was not prepared for this insanity, and he is exhausted XD)
(Lol understandable; neither this woman or Wren are anything close to demigods though; they're actually purely human, just with some strange abilities)
The woman sighs. "Neither I or Wren are demigods, for one. We barely understand the things we can do. Hell, Wren doesn't even understand that he'd be killed on sight if people knew he could just change gravity on a whim. Meanwhile I can heal anything - cancer, ulcers, broken bones, tumors - and people know this. So I stay around Wren, because Wren never leaves the house except for when they need to or are forced to, which in either case I'm doing my best to follow after them to keep them from bleeding out in public, meaning I'm not only looking over my shoulder for government agents all the time, I'm doing my best to keep the one person I love alive because I can't afford to lose more family. But sure, we can talk about magic pets and weird foods and lolipops and rainbows instead of trying to get our asses out of here. My point basically is, don't talk to me about 'normal.'"
"And whatever." she replies to Pheonix's second comment.
Phoenix blinks at the woman; his first thought is to snap back, but he doesn't. Instead, he sighs.
"Look, I'm sorry. I'm just… overwhelmed," he repeats lamely, "Let's start over; I'm Phoenix Nivian. I'm approximately somewhere between the ages of 18 and 25, and I suffer from amnesia where I don't remember anything about my life before two years ago. I found out I have the ability to summon a rochim, a spirit dragon, and I joined a group called the Rochi Warriors to protect my country, Sheodor, from an ancient evil called Evadan."
He pauses before he adds, "Okay, now your turn. If you don't mind me asking, what's your name, and what's wrong with Wren?"
The woman sighs.
"My name is Rosjāi Trêa. I'm 20 years old, and have an ability to heal any disease, sickness or injury. The only person I am affiliated with is Wren."
"As for what's wrong with Wren. . . there's a lot to cover there but the basics are they're biologically androgynous - they got a procedure done last year to do that - they can manipulate gravity fully, meaning you could theoretically just die if they decide they don't like you. . . they're autistic, depressed and anxious but have yet to be diagnosed. They cut themselves qute often with whatever they can, usually their own gravity manipulation powers. constantly reopening old wounds, and use a whip of their own power to cut into their back. They do this to keep theirself grounded to reality whenever their phone doesn't work or they can't focus on their phone. They also cut theirself because of a lot of childhood abuse and trauma. They watched some of their friends die in a car crash; they were actually in the car when it happened." she explains. "Their parents were abusive and would often beat them so bad they couldn't go to school. Everyone knew but nobody wanted to say anything. After all, an abused kid who's always quiet? Messing with them is a sure-fire way to get a .45 mil round through the skull at school one day. Basically? Wren deserves a happy ending, and I plan on giving them one."
"I–" Phoenix stops and clears his throat.
"Um, wow, that's… a lot to take in," he says awkwardly, "I… didn't fully understand some of those words… other world and all… but I guess I got the gist. My life–or at least the part that I can remember–hasn't exactly been easy either," he chuckles nervously, "Being kidnapped by your enemy and tortured mentally, emotionally, and physically for a time can do things to you. Also the amnesia thing… that's not fun. I…" he trails off again, "Sorry, I'm not trying to make this about me or anything, I'm just saying I get it, I guess. There's evil across the multiverse, and it isn't kind to people. It likes to confuse people and hurt them; it jumbles everything up and gives life sharp edges so we get hurt when we're thrown around. At least you guys have each other; I have my own adopted family back home," he smiles fondly, "We're a messed-up bunch, but we love each other, even Shay, my… um, my friend."
Rosjāi sighs softly. "Don't worry, I know you can understand. You have that look in your eyes. You just asked, so I explained."
"And if you want to know what's wrong with me. . . well, trust me, you don't. Being kidnapped and beaten is bad, I've had it happen, but there's other. . . things that happen to women when they're kidnapped. And sometimes, me and Wren barely have each other because we're both so disociative that neither of us can remember what or who we are." she chuckles darkly.
"But for what it's worth, I'm sorry for the things that have happened to you." she adds softly.
(This chat got so serious, wow… Anyway, I gtg for tonight, sorry. :( I'll prob be back sometime tomorrow. Adios, amigos!)
(Yeah sorry ;-; anyways bye, see you!)
(Wowza yeah! Y'all backstories are so sad but well-written!)
Cole stares at the three beings before him in shock. He hugs himself and shrinks a bit. Well-aware this isn't a 'trauma competition' or anything like that, it still feels…off to hear such stories and then share his. "I-um, I haven't gone through anything as bad as you three have. Erm, I'm sorry that you all have had to go through all of…that." And here is where the sympathy and pity appear; he was practically begging for it despite not wanting it.
Rosjāi chuckles bluntly. "Just because it isn't as bad as ours doesn't make it any less traumatic for you."
"I guess," Cole mumbles. He rubs his arms and quickly blurts the rest out. "Mom died when I was seven, it's just me and my dad and Andrea now and…I have to make sure they don't get hurt more. I have to."
Rosjāi nods understandingly.
"Like I'd do anything to keep Wren safe." she murmurs. "I'm sorry for your loss."
"Thank you." Cole doesn't…know what else to say. His mom's death is a-a scab that he just tore off like a bandaid. It's now (metaphorically) bleeding in his mind. He simply stands there and tries to pull all the little pieces of his being back together.
Rosjāi starts to glow slightly, a warm, comforting aura emanating from her and reaching towards Cole.
"Hey, it'll be okay." she says kindly as the aura reaches him, wrapping around him gently, like a blanket of sunlight.
Cole shivers but leans into the aura. "Thank you," He says quietly.
The magic slowly works its way into Cole, soothing his mental and emotional pain as the light starts to fade.
Rosjāi looks down at Wren, who's stopped shivering and bleeding. Their cuts had scabbed over with help from the woman.
"So. . . what do we do now?"
Blade suddenly appears, Luna by her side, landing on her back. "Ugh," she says, seeing all of their sad faces. "I landed in the realm of sadness." She struggled to her feet, attempting to hid the cuts that were now scattered across her arms.
(Sorry I've been gone… this suddenly became so sad!)
(It's cool; and yeah I introduced two of my probably most traumatised people to this 😅 Rosjāi has the ability to hide it behind a veneer of happiness tho while Wren does not)
Rosjāi tilts her head at the newest arrival.
"Keep it down just a tad bit? Wren's currently doing their best not to remove or increase gravity by a fuck ton." she says.
Blade snorted. "Sorry. It's not like nobody's explained to me anything. I'll just figure it out myself then." She stood up and started circling the area.
Wren looks up and speaks just loudly enough for Blade to hear them.
"It's a place seperate from your 'rift house' that can be accessed via a warped clock inside. This place looks to be a twisted version of an Alice in Wonderland video game. Nothing here will ne as it seems. Stay focused, don't eat anything, and do not interact with the Cat." he says.
