"Mm-hmmm." Jo snickers.

"If we don't discourage her, she'll keep doing it."

Nikki rolled her eyes and turned her attention to her food

"Yeah that's what I said about her getting into the cupboard, guess who had to get bread at the shop tomorrow…. me."

Jo's snickers turn into full-fledged, gut-busting laughs as Nikki rolls her eyes.

"But she got through a combination lock to do that! I'm more proud than I am annoyed at our intelligent little friend!" he retorts.

Nikki ignored the laughter and continued eating

"The only reason why she got through a combination lock is because you didn't lock it because you forgot the combination to it so all you did was put it in the latch. "

Jo eventually stops laughing, and just looks at Nikki contemplatively.

He snorts. "Shut it. My point is, she's smart, and she's rude, but she loves us."

"Oh really I thought you'r point was that I was being eaten by our cat and it needs to stop~" she teased looking up at him with a smirk

Jo rolls his eyes.

"Oh be quiet."

Nikki smiled and blew a kiss towards Jo

"Okay dear I won't talk anymore" she said with a giggle.

"Ugh. You know that's not what I meant." Jo replies annoyedly, though he was clearly supressing a slight smile.

"Ah, yes because I know how much you like it when I talk.. Especially when we're cuddled up close it the bedroom~"
She had a sly smirk on her lips as she took a sip of water.

"God, just eat your food and let me contain the cat in peace-" Jo chuckles.

Nikki rolled her eyes and turned her attention back to her food and ate quietly, tapping her foot slightly against the floor.

Jo coralles the cat - who had been sureptitiously eating Jo's food off the counter - and places her into the bathroom before coming out and starting on his slightly nibbled food.

Nikki watched as Jo sat down and rolled her eyes again slightly it was barely noticeable, and foot up to rince her bowl and cup.

Jo, despite not looking at Nikki, was very finely tuned to her at this point.

"Oi, don't roll your eyes at me, missy."

Nikki simply ignored him and finished washing her dishes before turning and walking out of the kitchen towards the stairs so she could put something else on

Jo chuckles, finishing his own food and doing the rest of the dishes.

Nikki made her way to the stairs and trotted up them getting to hers and Jo's room and grabbing a baggy tank top and sweatpants before stripping, and throwing her clothes in the hamper and walking over to the bed to start getting dressed.

Jo hums as he works on the dishes, scrubbing the pots and pans.

Nikki got dressed and came down stairs with a blanket and a book. She trotted back down stairs and walked to the couch in the living room and curled up in the blanket before nestling into the couch with her book already opened and in her face.

Jo looks over and smiles. He liked how life was going, as of late.

I should propo- he starts to think before someone banged on the door of the apartment.

Nikki smiled and rolled her eyes "don't worry I got the door babe." She slipped off the couch and ran over to the door and opened it, the smile on her face fading as her eyes landed on the man at the door and her body froze "what are you doing here… "

A loud bang rings out - a gunshot.

Jo goes into feral mode and tackles the man who was at the door, beating him literally to death before pickling Nikki up and hopping onto her motorcycle.

He rushes her to the hospital and waits frantically for any news on her condition.

Nikki didn't even have time to scream, she stared at the man tears forming in her eyes before she looked down at her stomach, blood quickly oozing from the gun shot wound. She touched it before bringing her hand up and seeing the blood she fell backward as the world started to fade into black. She was unconscious by the time they got to the hospital and she was hurriedly prepped for surgery and taken away for operation.

About n hour into the surgery, Jo takes a deep breath, suddenly seeming much calmer. He knew this state. He'd been in it once before.

He was preparing to kill a lot of people.

He leaves the hospital and goes home, grabbing a few guns and grenades. He makes a makeshift chest bomb from the rest of the grenades then steps out into the world, heading towards the building he'd tried to bomb at the beggining of all of this.
