Alastor nodded in understanding, although he was watching Zeus. The German Shepherd was friendly to most people, sure, but he had never trusted anyone enough to fall asleep on them. He only ever did that to Alastor.
"Well, I'm glad that he's starting to trust us a bit," he replied.
"Your dog likes him, isn't that nice" June smiled. "I want to wake him up⦠Just because." she had an evil grin. She started walking towards her sleeping brother.
Alastor felt a pang of sympathy for June and Devon as he covered his ears a bit. Zeus barked really loudly when he was abruptly woken up by someone who wasn't his owner.
June jumped back when Zeus barked, falling back on her butt. She glared at the dog and cursed at him in french.
Devon woke up, eyes wide and heart racing, he then glared at his sister. He didn't sleep often, and hardly had a restful sleep, so when some selfish person ruins that, he gets pissed. He stood up, looking furious, minus his messed up hair and crooked glasses. He walked up to June, "what?" his voice was calm, even, but laced with anger.
"we could always put a generator on the back of the truck." she shrugged, "that would be the best bet in my opinion, easy to move, and uh⦠yeah" She wasn't really paying attention. "where's Dev? he's smartish"
"Ooo. that would be nice." Liam said pushing off Alistor, who was looking a little uncomfortable. "Ahhhh. He looks so small." he said looking over June's shoulder. He jumped when Zeus barked after June woke him and Dev up.
"Easy, Zeus," Alastor called when the dog started to growl. He walked out of the kitchen. He casually stood near June and Devon in case a fight broke out. The previously sleeping guy looked pretty pissed now.
Zeus gave a grunt of annoyance and shook out his fur, moving to stand beside his owner.
Devon crossed his arms, "if I wasn't against violence, I swear to god you would regret that" he shook his head before turning and going to the bedroom.
June sighed loudly once he left, "he might be pissed for s few hours" she shrugged, standing once he was out of sight.
(btw guys im having Lucas just have a coldβ)
(Or like the regular, non deadly strand of flu)
Lucas looked at Lucky and Ariella, arguing slightly, their voices increasing in volume and he looked at Ronni, he gave her a small wave and smile and then slowly made his way into one of the empty apartments Ronni had pointed too.
(maybe have it be the regular flu, cuz the symptoms youre describing are a bit more severe than your average cold shrug)
(And Im glad you're not killing him :) )
Lucky watched him go, noting which apartment he picked. They would know soon if he had the deluxe or not.
Vomiting blood or coughing it up within the first few hours would tell them. If he wasn't doing that⦠he was probably going to be ok. That was all Lucky was watching for.
He looked at Ariella, not really sure where to go from here. SHe'd clearly made up her mind about him being a bad person, and while he was sorry she felt that way, he'd only done what he thought needed to be done up to this point. She didn't want his help or presence, and she'd been clear on that. SO he didn't offer it.
Ronnie went and got Lucas a glass of water. It was a bit odd to her, still, that the water worked but the electricity didn't. But. At least we've got relatively clean tap waterβ¦
She went into the apartment he'd picked and handed him the glass, before stepping back. She couldn't be close to him right now, as it could be lethal.
(yeah, i'm not really a big medical person, so thanks for the advice <3 )
(Also I just couldn't bring myself to do it, I was going to, but I couldn't.)
Lucas gave a small smile of thanks and then waved her away when he noticed how she quickly stepped back.
"I'll see you soon, hopefully." He told her, in a sad voice. "Thanks for the water."
He lifted the glass to his lips with shaking hands and took a long drink from it.
(thumbs up)
(I was surprised when you asked about it. wouldve been quite the move to make)
Ronni shook her head and looked around. There was a big chair across the room from the couch he was on. SHe walked over and sat down, curling up with her legs under her in the chair.
"I'm not going anywhere." she said quietly. She couldn't be close to him, but she wasnt leaving him by himself.
Devon crossed his arms, "if I wasn't against violence, I swear to god you would regret that" he shook his head before turning and going to the bedroom.
June sighed loudly once he left, "he might be pissed for s few hours" she shrugged, standing once he was out of sight.
Alastor looked in the direction Devon went, feeling guilty that he didn't ask June to not wake him up. Zeus and Alastor shared a look and the dog gave a small huff before entering the bedroom Devon went into, his tail wagging happily.
"Maybe you should justβ¦I don't know, let him sleep without waking him up sometimes?" Alastor suggested to June. "I know what it's like to not be able to get enough sleep, and it's pretty shitty whenever you're woken up by someone for no real reason."

"I normally do, but he was on the floor, so what" she crossed her arms and huffed.
Devon sat down on the floor, with his back against the bed. He reached out toward Zeus, petting him when he got close enough.

Lucas nodded and smiled at her sadly, his skin stretching unnaturally as he did.
"Thanks." He said quietly, pressing his unoccupied hand to his face. "I hope you don't feel like you have to stay here."
He coughed lightly into his elbow after he put his cup of glass down.
"Can you grab my bag from the other apartment?" He asked kindly. "I want to stay away from everyone, but I left it in there, it's a beige colored satchel looking thing with a blue pin on it, it has a frog on it."
Ronni shrugged at him. She didn't feel like she had to, she wanted to.
She did go back to the other apartment, and grabbed his bag. She set it by the couch, rather than handing it directly to him, and went back to her chair, watching him.
That cough didn't sound good, but⦠it was clean so far.
Alastor sighed, not wanting to argue. He went to the couch and sat down, feeling slightly tired himself.
Zeus licked Devon's hand and laid down next to him, his tail wagging a bit.
Liam followed Alastor and sat down next to him. "Hi." He yawned and leaned on him again, falling asleep.
"Hey," Alastor replied, feeling amused when Liam promptly fell asleep on him.
Ariella stood and straightened her back. She stood in front of Lucky, fiddling with her fingers as her anxiety slung back into place. She glanced up at him before looking down at the ground.
Lucky watched her. She was standing there like she wanted to say something, or needed something, but he didn't have any clue what.
"β¦.Do you need something?" he asked, as gently as he could. He had to assume that was really the only reason she'd still be around him.
Ariella only shook her head. She didn't trust her words right now. She believed it would come out all wrong. She took a tentative step forward and wrapped her arms around him, barely. She was scared he would push her away so she let go quickly.
Lucky froze, out of sheer surprise. Nothing about her reactions today had indicated that this was coming, and he didn't immediately react.
She let go, and he quickly looped an arm around her to keep her from stepping away. He didn't want her to think he was rejecting her if this was a shot at reconciling.
"Heyβ¦" He looked down at her, his face concerned, questioning.
Devon once again fell asleep on the floor, petting Zeus.
June sighed and sat on the floor outside the kitchen.
(roughly 2 pm, cuz a little bit ago Lucas checked his watch and it was 1pm)
Ariella folded back into him, taking the warmth and comfort from him that he provided her. She tucked her head away in his shoulder. So much for ignoring him. She never was good at holding a grudge, less it be something truly awful. She didn't say anything. Didn't trust saying anything.
Lucky thought for a moment, before deciding that now was not the time to try to pry out what was bothering her. So he changed the subject, though he kept his arms around her and his voice low.
"So you were a nurse, huh?" That was a detail he hadn't known before.
Ariella nodded her head. "I was about to finish my internship. I was almost there." She murmured. She had known she wanted to be a nurse since she was little. She loved helping people, loved healing them. She had taken accelerated courses. Taken as many college classes in high school as she could ti get a head start. She took too many classes than she should have and managed to keep up with them all.
Lucky nodded, impressed. "That's⦠you should be proud of yourself. I've heard it's a ton of hard work."
On top of that, whether she realized it or not, she was incredibly valuable to the group. Lucky didn't know how to say that after the discussion they'd just had, butβ¦
Well. In an apocalyptic world, a nurse was a VIP.
