(I have to go now… Will be back tomorrow.)
(See ya!)
I bolted my mother to the floor. The only entrance to the room, other than the skylight, is sealed and unbreakable. I'm safe. As soon as she thought it, the power left her.
Winter felt herself relax. Elias looked at her. The color was coming back to her face. He looked at her and sighed a sigh of relief. "Are you ok now?" He asked as he brushed her cheek. She smiled. "Yeah. I'm fine now. Estelle is safe, and now that she broke the skylight, we should just be able to repel through it, and grab her and go. This should go without a hiccup. I hope…" Elias smiled. "I'm glad that you are ok now. I was starting to get worried… The color was going from your face, and you were passing out, and I was afraid that you were fading again. It was bad enough the first time…" Winter gently hit him. "Don't worry about me. I'm fine."
(I got to go… really bad thunderstorm on the way… I will get on as soon as it passes)
(Are you good?)
(Good now, anyone on?)
(Yep!)
(Anyone on? I don't know how long I will be on, or if I will be able to get on this week, because my family has surprised me with a trip to Fairbanks…)
(Cool! I have to go soon anyway, so…)
(Ok! Should we continue)
(Ug, I'm back! Yes, my turn!)
(I'm back! Go Camie!)
(Happy 4th of July y'all)
(Happy Fourth Of July Lavender!)
(Happy 4th y'all!)
Estelle instantly felt colder. She shivered slightly and craned her neck to look up the skylight. Winter, hurry. I'm feeling a little cold again…
Winter tried to stand to her feet. It was shaky, but she managed. Then, Estelle's voice popped into her head. It was like someone had taken her energy from her. She instantly collapsed. Elias rushed to pick her back up. "Winter are you ok? You were just telling me you were fine. Now, I'm not so sure that I believe you…" Winter gave Elias a desperate look. "No, I'm not ok. Estelle is using the empathy link again. Essar needs to get there or I'm not going to be around… Elias do you understand what I am saying? I'm going to die if Estelle keeps using my power, and I'm going to die if Essar doesn't hurry up. My life's on the line. I would like to keep it for some years to come…" Elias gave her a grim look. "Ok. We're almost there. I promise. I have you, and you are not going to die today. Estelle is safe, and she just needs to say it, right?" Winter tried to comfort Elias. She brushed her hand up against his cheek. "Yeah, she just needs to say it, frost… boy…" she murmured before passing out. Elias looked at Winter with fear. He weakly yelled, "Essar, hurry… Winter is fading again, and I don't know if she'll pull through this one…"
"Alright, let's go 5!" Essar and 5 dropped onto the roof. Essar fastened a climbing rope to the rim of the skylight.
Winter? Winter? "Oh no," she whispered, "what've I done?" She felt the power returning. The empathy link, of course. "I'm fine, I'm fine, I'm fine," she repeated until her heartbeat calmed down and the power drained from her fingertips once more. "I'm fine, I'm fine, I'm fine, I'm fine, I'm fine."
Estelle jerked her head up. They were here!
Winter still felt awful, but she regained consciousness. She looked at Elias. Everything sounded like it was underwater… He smiled. She thought she heard him say that they were getting Estelle, but she couldn't be sure…
(Dammit, I gtg to bed)
(Kk, Bye!)
(I'm sorry, trying to respond to 7 other convos! You're all gone also, so yeah…)
Estelle smiled. Suddenly, something slammed heavily into the ice barricading the door. The girl shrieked, but kept whispering, "I'm fine, I'm fine, I'm fine, I'm-" A loud crunch. "I'm fine, I'm fine." She looked up the skylight again.
(I'm back.)
Elias was on the roof looking down through the skylight. He looked around at Essar and Hi-5. "Now, who wants to jump down there first? It looks like a long way down…"
(Anyone on?)
(Am now. I was swimming)
(Ah. That's fine. Your turn.)
(Kk.)
"I'll go." Hi-5 muttered. She swung over the side and slid down the rope. Essar followed.
Elias stood on the roof. "Man, I hate heights… For Winter though…" He muttered as he slid down the rope. He landed on the floor with a crunch. As he looked around, he saw an imperial frozen to the wall, and a scared looking girl, looking relieved to be finally rescued…
