"I…I never knew…" Rantaro sighed softly. "So..i-it's gonna…kill him…?"

“ yeah..”

"O-okay…" Rantaro sighed as he looked away. "I-I'm really…gonna lose him…"

“Yeah..”

Rantaro fell silent as he cried. Knowing that his lover was going to die was too much for him to deal with.

“You should go see him..”

Rantaro nodded and took Kokichi's hand, wanting him to come with since he couldn't handle being alone.

“ taro.. It's not my place..”!

"Just…stay with me…for a moment…" Rantaro requested. "Once…I know…that I won't break down…you can go…"

“Okay..”

Rantaro fell silent again as they walked towards Kaito's room. He was incredibly worried about his boyfriend, knowing that he was gonna die. He wasn't sure how well he'd handle seeing his boyfriend in his current condition, so he brought Kokichi with him. He needed someone there to support him during this time.

Once they reached Kaito's room, Rantaro sighed softly. He wasn't looking forward to what he was gonna see, knowing that things would be bad. He looked at Kokichi, who was next to him, trying to get a little bit of reassurance. Once he was slightly reassured, he walked in, and while he remained silent, he sat by Kaito's side, held his hand, and cried.

Kaito had oxygen and a heart monitor hooked up to him. He also had a few heating pads underneath him
“ taro?” he mumbled softly

"Kaito…!" he exclaimed as he continued to hold his lover's hand and cry. "You…you're awake…" he said softly before gently hugging the other. "I…I…um…might…lose you… S-sorry…for crying…"

“ I know.. I should have told you..”

Rantaro shook his head. "It…it's fine… I just…dunno…how to…handle this… I-I mean…you…you're gonna…die soon…"

“ yeah.. “ he whispered

Rantaro fell silent as he cried. He was so worried and upset by the situation that he didn't know what to say anymore.

Kaito tried to smile, pulling rantaro closer

Rantaro held Kaito as tightly as he could. "How long…do you…have left… Do you…know…?"

“ they don't know.. I wasn't supposed to last this long..”

"A-ah…um…" Rantaro trailed off, not wanting to finish his thought that Kaito would die soon.

“ I love you taro..” he said softly as his heart rate started to drop

"Kai-Kaito…!" Rantaro exclaimed as he held the other close, tears running down his face. "Kaito…! Stay with me…! You can't die…! Not now…"

“ I'll be alright..” he whispered

"You…you're still…gonna…die soon…" Rantaro sighed softly. "Just…just…stay…with me…"

“ I'm trying..but it doesn't hurt anymore..”

"Kaito…if this…is the endfor you…just know…that I love you so much…"

Kaito smiled softly “ thank you… For loving me. It's all I ever wanted..”

Rantaro shook his head. "No need… I just…wanted to love you and make you happy… I…I'm gonna miss you…"

“ I'm gonna miss you too.,”
