“Understandable. There's health rules for a reason.” he agreed. “But at least she gave you the idea to make a safer way for that.”
“Understandable. There's health rules for a reason.” he agreed. “But at least she gave you the idea to make a safer way for that.”
"I just wanted to ensure that the well-being of my customers wouldn't be jeopardized because of an employee that wouldn't listen."
“I get that.” Marc nodded. “And I don't blame you. If she didn't listen about that then what else could she have done if you let her stay?” he asked rhetorically as he agreed with her.
Maria nodded "exactly now I stand by the fact that she was a great girl she was very nice and polite and got her work done but she was still in high school, high school students have a hard time listening to adults but I could have gone a little easier on her she was just a kid."
“Oh, yeah. High School students are notorious for not listening to anyone.” Marc chuckled, remembering his own experiences at that age. “Besides, you had your whole business at risk… You did what you had to. But you could still give her a good reference.” he pointed out, though chances were she already did.
"Oh yes they are you don't have to tell me I used to be one myself" she spoke with a chuckle and shook her head "indeed I did have my business at risk which was very scary to me but I can promise you I've given her a good reference."
“How crazy were your high school years?” he asked, smiling at her. “It sounds like you're a good, reasonable boss then.”
Maria blushed a bit and crossed her arms "well I was a teenage girl looking for my parent's approval…it got pretty crazy sometimes, and as far as me being a good boss you bet I am im the greatest boss ever." She couldn't help but laugh at her own words while shaking her head
“That's fair enough.” Marc nodded, chuckling with her. “I wasn't too worried about my parent's approval until my senior year so, the rest of high school was pretty crazy for me too.” he admitted. “Well, if I could cook, I would definitely get a job with you.”
Maria nodded and smiled "I'm sure you would but the thing is….what if I don't hire you?:
“If I could cook, why wouldn't you?” he asked, smiling. “I’m good with people and I know how to handle a cash register.”
Maria smiled "well maybe i think you would look better sweaty and in gym clothes than wearing pink and being sweaty."
Marcus couldn't help but laugh as he felt his face warm up. “Hey, I look good in pink.” he teased, still laughing.
She smirked before looking up at him "hmm maybe, or perhaps i could give you a black uniform.."
“You could.” Marc nodded. “Your choice, boss.” he winked.
Maria laughed and looked away blushing at the wink "don't call me boss I'm not at work."
Marcus laughed, holding his hands up in surrender. “Alright. I’ll drop the shop talk. After all, you are on a vacation.” he smiled.
Maria laughed and nodded "now let's be adults and own up I also initiated this conversation I just don't like to be called boss it's strange to me."
“Fair enough.” he nodded. “I was just teasing anyway. I might go to England or Europe for a vacation or visit but I don't know if I'd live there.” Marc admitted, quickly holding up his hands. “There's nothing wrong with either of those places… I just have a hard time picturing myself living too far from the ocean.”
"Ah going to England or Europe could be fun but I definitely don't recommend that you live there it's a lot different from America, it's hard to get used to the differences..but there are a lot of beautiful places to see in Europe."
“That's what I've heard.” Marc agreed. “Plus being an American would probably put me at a disadvantage. I hardly know anything about the metric system and I don't know how easy it would be to get used to driving on the other side of the road.” he chuckled.
Maria laughed and nodded "it can be a hassle but you could always use a trolley to get where you need to go or use a web browser whatever you use to figure out how to cook."
“True.” he nodded, still smiling. “At least, spending time with you, I’m picking up a little more English slang. Otherwise, I'd really be lost.”
Maria giggled a little bit and shook her head "oh trust me we haven't even scratched the surface." She said jokingly with a wink
“I believe it.” he teased back, grinning. “But we still have the summer.” he added as the first of the fireworks took off and exploded in colorful streaks in the sky.
(poke?)
(Ack! I became non existent I'm sorry December was hectic and weird I will 100% reply as soon as I possibly can, again I'm so sorry)
(It's ok. Glad you're back but I understand n. December is crazy for a lot of people.)
Maria laughed and nodded "yep-" she was cut off by the fireworks and her face lit up and a smile appeared out of nowhere "oh wow… That's brilliant."
Marc smiled back when he saw her expression before leaning back to watch the fireworks with her. “Yeah, they’re great!”
