Dinner was awkward, mostly, with a side of twin rivalry. Soon everyone had their fill, and it was decided that the princess should take her leave. Lady Montgomery and her sons stood at the entrance to the manor to see her off.
“It was an honor to have Princess Alice herself dine with us,” the duchess smiled. She bowed, and andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer) and Michael followed suit. Unbeknownst to them, Dove had followed and was peeking behind a corner to see.

Alice stood at the entrance thanking them for allowing her to stay for dinner she bowed in response to them before she noticed dove behind a corner and she smiled softly "I look forward to seeing you again. " it was unclear while she was talking to but she was talking to dove she bowed once more before walking outside to the stables

The duchess and the twins were mildly confused, but nodded and murmured their assent before shutting the door. Blushing, and feeling a little brave, Dove quickly ran from her stepfamily’s sight and out the back door. She picked up her skirts and rushed to the stables, coming up behind the princess.
“Your Highness?” She called. “May I help you with your horse?”

Dove shyly returned the smile, then approached the princess and the horse’s stall. As she opened it, she said, “He’s a very beautiful stallion. Does he have a name, if I may ask?”

“Oh, how lovely,” Dove said, watching and moving to face the horse. “Hello, Cyrus, I’m Dove. How do you do?” She placed her hand in between Cyrus’s eyes, gently stroking him.

She laughed, maybe for the first time that day. “Yes, it would. I just like to talk to animals, even if they can’t talk back. It’s only polite to greet him, isn’t it?” Dove kept stroking the horse, admiring his sleek coat and deep eyes.

“Ahhh, really?” Dove stepped aside so Princess Alice could move forward. “I think he deserves such a greeting.”
She didn’t know how they were having a conversation like this, her and the princess. She hoped Her Highness enjoyed it as much as she was.

Dove began guiding the horse over to the gated entrance to the manor. She gasped, a blush rising in her cheeks. “Your Highness! I would, yes, but I could never accept such a thing, not from you. Why would you offer that to someone like me?”

As dove guided the horse Alice looked down at her with a smile on her face "well if you want to why wouldn't you come with me, what do you mean someone like you?" Alice was generally confused about her comment she just stared at her

She had to look away for a moment. “It would be… such a great privilege and honor. But I am just a servant. I am not important enough, nor am I close enough with you. Wouldn’t it be rather selfish to go with you on your horse?”

@Tired-but-passionate

Ah, why was she blushing so much? Dove blinked, almost having a mini heart attack when she heard the princess call her by her name. “You’re— you’re too kind, princess. I suppose I can only accept, then.” She went up to the gate and opened it for Alice.

Dove’s face was the color of cherries now, and her heart pounded like a drum. “Then of course I accept!” she said, “Though I’m afraid it cannot be today. But someday, I think I would like it very much.” She returned the smile as best she could.

Dove just could not register the fact that the princess was calling her ‘darling’ and ‘dear’ like she had known her for years. “Um… uh…” she had lost her words for a moment. She could not think. “Maybe… uh, this weekend?” She managed to say. “The duchess and young masters should be out of the house then…”

@Tired-but-passionate

“Um, sure!” She laughed nervously, waving her off. “No, no, it’s alright. I should… I should like to get to know you better, Your Highness.”
