“Ok.” he sighed softly, relieved. “But I'm sorry if it was too much…” he shrugged as he offered his hand to help her out.

"It's okay really. " she took his hand gladly
and patted his hand with hers reassuringly

“Alright.” Marc smiled softly and nodded, leading her away from the ride.

She followed him looking around completely amazed by her surroundings a bright smile on her face

The sight of her happier expression helped calm him further and brought a smile back to his face. “So, what would you like to do? There's games, food, and calmer rides.”

"I'm not really sure maybe we could try a few games? She asked almost as if she was a child waiting to be told no

“Sure. We can do some games.” he smiled. “How’s your arm? Most of them are throwing games. Or there's a shooting gallery too.” he pointed out.

"Well I'm pretty good at shooting a gun maybe we should try the gallery first? '

“Alright.” he smiled with a nod. “Looks like there's a water gun set up and a knock ‘em down option.” he pointed out as they walked.

"I'm sure I can beat you at either of them. " she said with a challenging smirk

“Oh, really?” he smirked back, raising a brow at the teasing. “I’ll have you know that my dad used to take me hunting, so I know how to handle a rifle.” he said as he handed the man at the range some money for both of them to shoot.

I had a military veteran sharp shooter teach me he said I was so good almost better than her was.. " she said proudly as she walked over to the game and picked up one of the guns

“Really? This I gotta see.” he smiled, impressed by her story, and picked up a gun for himself. “Ladies first?”

She smiled before bringing the scope up to her eye and taking out 6 targets within a few seconds and then turned to Marcus with an almost innocent smile

Marcus stared at her with wide eyes and smiled brightly. “Wow! And I thought you couldn't get more amazing.” he complimented.

She beamed at him before a couple more targets popped up "now let's see what you've got. "

Marcus smiled at the fact that she didn't shy away from his complement this time as he took aim. In the time allowed for his turn, he managed to hit five of the six shots and two of them were on the swinging targets.

"Hey that's pretty good Marcus I'd say I have a worthy opponent. ' she said teasingly as she finished off the last target

“I could say the same for you. But thanks.” he smiled, laying the gun back down on the counter as he turned to the man. “Any chance we get a prize if we put our points together?”

The man chuckled and gestured to one wall of prizes. “You can pick anything right here.”

"Yeah of course" she said smiling back at him and then focused her attention on the man behind the counter and then turned to Marcus "oo what do you want? "

“Thanks, man.” Marcus nodded, looking at the options. “I want you to pick. It's your first prize from an American fair.” he encouraged her.

"It's my first prize from any fair" she said with a small smile as she looked over the wall of prizes "what about the purple care bear?? "

Marcus’s expression softened at the comment. He hadn't forgotten but it still stung in a way to hear her say it. “Sure. We can get that for you.” he nodded.

She lit up at his response jumping a little bit there might have even been a small squeal of excitement as the man grabbed the bear for her

Marcus chuckled at her adorable reaction as the man handed her the stuffed animal.

“Here you are, little lady. Enjoy.”

She smiled brightly as she grabbed the bear from the man "thank you. " she couldn't really contain her excitement this was a very big moment well it was for her anyways

Both men smiled at her as she hugged the purple animal. Marcus was both happy that she was happy with the toy, but he was also a little sad at why this was so special to her.
