(yay! strangespots! my boy)
Cloudypaw shrunk backward. A patrol this large, especially with the leader of the clan involved, must have a good reason for it. She didn't like the ShadowClan leader, she didn't want to let herself be biased over it, he was just rather intimidating. No one had directly told her what happened at the gathering but she had heard from some disgruntled senior warriors that he had rather aggressively turned down Fawnstar's offer of help.
Cloudypaw rather liked Fawnstar. He was a lot better than Whitestar. The small she almost shivered just thinking about her clan's previous leader.
Some of the warriors and the apprentices in the patrol looked nice at least.
Strangespots didn't want to join the morning patrol. He'd just finished one last night, but he was hoping to get one of Berrybreeze's six kits as an apprentice so he was trying to show Shadowstar how dedicated he was.
To tell the truth, he wasn't leaping in line behind the new ShadowClan leader. While he did lead them in the battle to get their home back, he also was no where to be seen during the battle with ThunderClan which had lost them their leader and their camp. Strangespots and his littermates had to step up. ShadowClan is full of young cats now, Strangespots still couldn't get over that he was older than the leader and his deputy. Some of the older warriors had died, while others had stayed at the fairgrounds. He still thought about Ferndapple's face when he told Strangespots he wasn't going back.
The senior warrior shook his head and brought his head back to the present.
The spotted tom sighed. He recognised Scorchfeather from various gathering incidents and this probably wasn't going to end well. But hey, there was Flamepaw! Flamepaw traveled out to the fairgrounds to bring them back, he'd never do anything against ShadowClan, would he?
