"No, darling, I'm sorry," O'Hara whispered. "It's quite common for patients to experience trauma from their accidents and relapse at the mention of them. I completely forgot, it feels like it's been ages since I treated you."
"No, darling, I'm sorry," O'Hara whispered. "It's quite common for patients to experience trauma from their accidents and relapse at the mention of them. I completely forgot, it feels like it's been ages since I treated you."
Finn chuckled, leaning her head back to look into O'hara's eyes. "I know" He mumbled, wiping some of the tears and worry from her face. "It's okay. It's not your fault. I-" She sniffed. "You should probably go help them"
O'Hara's expression was conflicted. On one hand, she'd already promised Akalitus she'd be in to help Cruz and Roman. But on the other, she couldn't abandon Finn. Not now. "I can't leave you like this," she murmured, gazing at her adoringly. "You haven't even eaten."
Finn shook her head softly. "I-I don't want to be the reason those people don't get help. I'll be alright, I promise." She whispered. "I'll find something to do. I'll be okay."
O'Hara sighed. "Fine… since they're pulling me in earlier, I'm leaving earlier. I don't care what they say. I'll be home as soon as I can, alright? And if you need anything, you call me, alright? I'll give you my number. Do you have a cellphone? You can use the hotel phone to call me if you don't. Just call me if you need anything." It was amusing how much she was dotting on Finn already.
Finn chuckled softly, kissing O'Hara passionately to quiet her rambling. "I'll be okay. And I'll let you know if I'm not, alright?" She laughed again, wrapping her arms around the woman. "Go help them."
O'Hara flushed and pressed into the kiss, whining softly at how short it was. "Well, my darling, I can't leave if you have me in such a warm embrace…" she purred, smirking a bit as Finn's arms wrapped around her so temptingly.
Finn sighed, smiling as she drew back, leaning against the bed and out of reach from O'Hara's touch.
"Well then, I guess I can't give you anything until you go help." She chuckled, twirling her hair around her fingers.
"I'll be fine, I promise."
O'Hara whined quietly, but she got out of bed. She headed over to her closet, and moments later, she emerged wearing a blue button-up blouse that has a few more buttons undone than normal, white jeans, blue flats, and a full face of makeup. Her hair was still slightly curled from the day before, giving it a wavy look. "Alright, do you have a cell phone?" O'Hara asked, digging through her purse.
Finn sighed, leaning back against the bed while she waited patiently for O'Hara to emerge. The golden glow of sunlight flickered through the window onto Finn's skin, and across the room, making O'Hara glow spectacularly once she emerged. Finn could have sworn her jaw dropped once the elegant woman strutted around the room, and the girl could barely make out a response. "I… yeah. I-I've got one…"
O’Hara notes the stutter and smirked knowingly. “I do look amazing, don’t I?” she teased, turning around once her phone was in her hand and giving Finn her full attention. “But really, love, where’s your phone? I’ll put my number in just in case you need me for anything. I can be back in a heartbeat.”
Finn swallowed hard, the word heartbeat drawing her eyes to O'Hara's graciously visible cleavage, before she could avert them to the task at hand. "Oh, r-right." Within a second, she pulled out her phone from the pocket of her jeans on the floor, handing it to the woman.
O’Hara took the device and sat beside Finn on the bed, typing her number into the phone, texting herself, and handing it back to her. “There you are,” she stated, studying Finn’s face urgently to remember it. “Do I get a goodbye kiss?” she teased again, trailing her fingers up Finn’s throat and under her chin.
Finn leaned on O'Hara's shoulder, smiling as the woman went to work, before flushing at the request. She quickly draped her arms around O'Hara's neck, pulling the other close while she shuddered and gently pressed their lips together
O’Hara drew out the kiss for longer than she should’ve. She was already late, but God, Finn’s taste was so addictive… Finally she broke away, shaking her head. “The things you do to me,” she murmured, rising to her feet and breaking Finn’s hold around her neck. “I’ll see you after work. If you need anything, you’d better tell me or I’ll bloody kill you.” She slipped her phone into her purse and grabbed a white coat from the rack by the door. “I’ll see you later, my darling,” she cooed.
Finn held on, needing O'Hara's kissed like she needed air, pressing her hair against the other until they were one, then panted once they drew apart. She chucked, tilting her head while she intently studied O'Hara's features, already missing her badly.
She nodded, laughing again while she drew her legs to her chest and smiled. "I will, don't worry." She assured, waving goodbye as O'Hara left,
And she was alone
O’Hara sighed as she shut the door behind her, but she had lives to save. She hurried to the ground floor and had her car summonded.
“Where to, Dr. O’Hara?” her driver asked as always.
“All Saints,” she replied casually, creating a contact for Finn as she spoke. “Quickly, please.”
Finn yawned, not knowing how much she would miss O'Hara even as she was gone for only minutes. She entered the kitchen area, looking around for something easy to make, while she sighed and stared out the window into the streets below.
O’Hara reached the hospital and only had mere moments to get situated before she was paged. The victims had arrived. The woman steeled herself and strode out of her office and down to the floor. The first person through the door on a gurney was a woman about Finn’s age, and O’Hara instantly stiffened.
Finn made herself oatmeal, trying to use O'Hara's things sparingly. She felt a little intrusive in the doctor's home, and abit nervous by herself.
But O'Hara would be back soon enough, right?
"I've got this one, Dr. O'Hara," Cruz intervened, heading for the girl, and for once, she was thankful for his brashness. "You take the next patient."
"You don't tell me what to do, Dr. Cruz," she muttered, but she strode past and aided the next patient, a middle-aged man, into the door of another emergency treatment room.
Suddenly, Dr. Roman appeared at her shoulder. "Excuse me, Dr. O'Hara?"
O'Hara gave a labored sigh and didn't even turn to face Roman. "Yes?"
"Eleanor… can I call you that?"
O'Hara whipped her head around, her eyes wide and fierce. "No."
Dr. Roman's eyes widened, and she backed away a step. "Sorry… I was wondering if… I could help you? With your patient?"
"No," O'Hara repeated, setting up an IV. "Someone call up to cardiology and get a consult!"
"On it!" Jackie responded immediately. "Zoey! Fill in!"
"All hands on deck, I see," O'Hara remarked as Jackie passed her.
"Yeah, no kidding."
O'Hara chuckled quietly and looked over through the glass of the operating room next door where Cruz was instructing a team of nurses around the girl. Her heart sank, and again she thought of Finn. With a sharp exhale, she faced Dr. Roman. "I need you to take over here," she stated.
The blonde woman's eyes widened. "O-Oh… okay!"
O'Hara nodded, and she turned at the door briefly. "And don't ever call me by my first name ever again," she stated firmly before she left. She headed to her office, very briefly, and dialed Finn's number.
Finn was staring out the window, when her phone buzzed. At the sight of O'Hara's number, she promptly picked up, holding it close to her ear. "Are you okay? What's up?"
O'Hara sighed heavily. "Oh God, darling, I needed to hear your voice," she admitted quietly. "I can't breathe in here… it's a fucking asylum!"
Finn moved herself to the couch, lips pursing while she twirled her hair nervously. "Are you alright? Do you need anything? What's going on there?"
"Yes, I'm fine." O'Hara looked down at her outfit which was covered by a surgical plastic sheet. "There's a lot of patients, and only three doctors to work between them." Her pager began to beep again. "Fuck. Akalitus is paging me again. I'm so sorry, darling, I must go. I'll call you later, alright?"
Finn it the inside of her cheek, sighing while she heard the unmistakable sound of O'Hara needing to go. In truth, she hated it, She hated being alone.
"You're fine. You're alright." She smiled, loving the way O'Hara said darling then slumped back into the couch. "that's alright."
“I’m sorry,” O’Hara apologized again before hanging up and rushing back to the floor.
By the time all the patients were mostly stable, or in the OR for surgery, O’Hara was completely exhausted. She made her way back to her office and collapsed heavily into her chair.
Finn laid limply in the chair, staring blankly out the window. She wasn't hungry anymore, her stomach instead churning with nervousness for O'Hara. She hoped dearly that the doctor was okay.
After taking a few minutes alone in her office to collect herself, she called Finn. She cleared her throat before the girl picked up and made sure her voice sounded okay.
Finn collected herself, not wanting O'Hara to know how terrible it was, not being able to help her. "hey! Everything okay?"
