(Fools! I felt like Efraim was not getting enough attention and so I gave them attention myself!)

@Tired-but-passionate

Oh no. A person. A person coming toward them. Efraim went very still, watching the man come closer and closer. When he attempted to grab the notebook, they quickly pulled it away and held it close. They wanted to explain themself, but no words could come out of their mouth. Quickly, they turned to a different page in the notebook and began writing a greeting. They held it up, the page simply reading, Hello.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Tom looked between the two of them, thinking. He was not yet certain what to say to them not, not really. This was all so strange and weird to him, and neither of these two were at all familiar to him. It made it difficult to talk to them when he could think of nothing they had in common.

“A ghost? A ghost!?” Sanger exclaimed. “Oh, I doubt the Captain will be too happy about a ghost on his ship.” he murmured. “Hello to you too. Mind explaining your afterworldly affairs to me?” he asked, leaning over. “Can you even understand me?” he wondered, stepping back somewhat.

(“A ghost!?” wait until this motherfucker meets Liz then he’ll really freak out.)

(Awww I love Efraim <3)

(i second that)

(Literally I cannot wait until Efraim and Jekyll meet. I think they'll be chemistry buddies in a weird way. Like, yes we did fucked up and evil experiments that caused us great emotional and liver damage, and what of it? But in Efraim's case it's more tragic and less funny that Jekyll's case.)

(Also I'm rereading over character templates and mine suck but I forgot Tired put in "lowkey big tiddy goth gf" for Mina's "Other" section and I'm,,,, dying,,,,)

(Yesssss chemistry buddies <3)
(I mean not really cuz Efraim just did a stupid and drank what they weren’t supposed to but I mean, if you’re invisible the science of why that is has gotta be intriguing)

(SHSHSSJHDHJDJNDNJD I just thought it was relevant to some degree)

(Elizabeth and Mina will have a lot to relate over lol.)

(Lol yeah. Maybe Jekyll could eventually figure out a cure for Efraim? Could be neat.)

(:0 could be neat. Unfortunately, I do not think Efraim could do the same for him lol)

(Honestly I’m aiming for Jekyll’s situations to be incurable for now lol.)

Efraim groaned inwardly. Turning the notebook over again, they wrote more underneath the greeting.
I am not a ghost. I am just speechless and invisible, the notebook said. My name is Efraim Marion, and I was recruited by M. just like the rest of you. I apologize for not introducing myself sooner.

“Ooookayyyyy…” Sanger said. “Speechless, huh? Must be hard when you’re invisible. Wait, you’re invisible? How would that even work? And how do I even know you’re telling the truth?” he bombarded the figure with questions, getting more confused by the second.

@Tired-but-passionate

This was already becoming very stressful. Efraim felt themself shaking a little.
It’s a long story that I’m sure you don’t need to hear, they wrote. But here, I’ll prove it to you.
They flipped to the beginning of the notebook. Tucked inside was a folded piece of paper. When Efraim unfolded it, it revealed itself to be the letter, written in Hebrew, that M. sent to them. Although Efraim mainly spoke English and only spoke Hebrew to pray, it was mainly because they wanted to avoid being judged. It was their first language, and they had spoken it a lot when their father was alive.

“Hebrew. I recognize the characters, Z had me do a bit of study on ‘the world as we know it’.” Sanger said, sick to his stomach at the memory. “And Mr M’s signature. Well, it’s not like I can argue with that, let’s get you introduced to the others.” he smiled, offering a hand to the invisible figure.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Sherlock straightened up, taking a deep breath and pushing away the faint nausea still rolling in him. It was ever-present now, and he could only pray it would go away soon. Maybe it was physical effects of his loss; he had lost the two people he loved most in the world, the only two people who knew everything about him and still loved him without judgement, and he had lost both in the blink of an eye. For a moment, grief threatened to overwhelm him again, but he took another steadying breath, then another. He would not lose this battle with grief now. Not when he had a chance to discover just what had happened, what had caused that fire.

(Hell, Mina needs a hug. None of my guys do though. Except Sanger. The rest are bastards.)

@Tired-but-passionate

They paused, a little surprised that the man recognized the language so quickly. Efraim folded the letter and returned it to the notebook, then looked up and saw his outstretched hand. The others? Oh. Oh no. Efraim felt themself trembling again. Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad, since Mr. Rainsford had the most courteous reaction to their invisibility of anyone they had encountered thus far, but even then it was still nerve wracking to think about.

Mina, meanwhile, had been watching Sanger interact with some invisible partner for the last few minutes or so, and now she walked over. Perhaps it was due to the need to distract herself from memories of the past— and Dorian.
“Sanger,” she said. “What is this? Who are you talking to? I couldn’t help but overhear.”
