"What was that?"
"What was that?"
I looked around nervously. “When the people at my old home did what they did, the tried to remove my magic.” I said
Crash bristled. "That's stupid. Those jerks. If I ever see them, I'mma punch 'em." (I'll just have my characters do something whenever I'm on after this)
(Cool, Sorry i was in art). “It doesn’t matter. The pain is getting less, as time goes on) I winced as I touched one particular place.
Crash tilted his head. "How do you even take away magic? Is it attached to a part of your body?"
“They inserted a tube into my heart, to connect to my soul. It’s supposed to take it away but it didn’t work. every now and then the pain from it comes back.” I massaged my sides avoiding eyes.
"Oh." Crash leaned back, thinking that over. "Good thing they didn't have one of the Shadow People with them. Those guys can take out souls and eat them."
“Th..they did.” I stammered. “They were going to try that but there was an accident, and when that happened I escaped”
"Good. Of course you did. You're smart and tough." Crash nodded as if agreeing with himself. "So, uh….do you need help making the food, then?"
I chuckled, “Yes thanks, I know you’ll want some” I smiled as if nothing had happened and if I wasn’t in pain. Truthfully, the pain lasted a few days, but I knew it would calm down soon. I stood up and move to the kitchen.
"I'm not very good at cooking," he warned, following you. "Maybe I should chop things or something."
“You can chop some vegetables” I said. I was planning on making a stew, with some of the leftover deer and rabbit I had so keeping Crash away from the pot would be helpful
"Ok." Crash found a knife and began carefully cutting up some carrots. He handled the knife clumsily, as if he wasn't used to using one. "Maddie, do you live alone like this all the time?"
“Yeah.” I said heating up the stove “You get used to it after a while.” I placed a pot on the stove then looked at Crash “Crash! That’s not how you do it” he was holding the knife upside down “Here like this” I showed him what to.
I started to hum a tune
He chops in embarrassed silence for a while. Finally, he said, "You don't seem to mind all the company, though. I know I would."
(I have to go now, see you tomorrow ^^)
(Okie see you tomorrow x)
“No, I don’t mind it.” I said chopping some meat. “I’ve never disliked company, but I’m used to being alone” I hummed a tune quietly
(I'M LEAVING ON A JET PLANE!)
(Ok have fun! ^^)
After a second Crash set down the knife and stared at you in confusion. "You're humming. Why do humans do that? Demons never hum."
I smiled. “It.. just means that they are happy is all” I grabbed the carrots Crash had chopped and put them in the stew and gave him some. Green beans to cut. “What do demons do when they are happy?” I asked
He shrugged. "I guess we just sit down and enjoy it. It's hard to explain."
“Oh, ok” I put the carrots and the meat into the stew and stirred. I added some spices and soon the kitchen smelt lovely.
(brb, back later)
Crash finished cutting the green beans and plopped down on a nearby chair, staring awkwardly at his beat-up sneakers. "You seem to like Luke a bit more than the rest of us."
(Ok, see ya soon)
“What.. No I don’t” I said hurriedly I put the green beans in the stew “I.. I would never like one of you more then the other”
He sighed. "'S'fine. He's a human, a real smooth one too. It just makes sense. Anyway, I don't need friends." He finished the sentence in a low mutter, not looking at you.
“Hey.. I’m your friend. I’ll always be your friend” I walked over to him. “But maybe I like Luke.. more then friends. I dont know.. I’ve never liked anyone more then friends before” I looked away and went back to cooking. I’d never loved anyone before. Never felt it.
He watched you silently for a while. "Thanks. It's okay if you like him more, I didn't mean that I was mad. I just don't like hanging around other guys." He leaned back and closed his eyes. "Don't forget that I'm your friend too."
“I won’t forget it Crash. Besides, I’m sure Luke doesn’t like me like that anyway.” I sighed and started to put the stew in some bowls.
