Wren: Sighs I have mine sources, as you have yours, and as we both know we would like to keep them to ourselves.
Sam: Sits down and listens.
Wren: Sighs I have mine sources, as you have yours, and as we both know we would like to keep them to ourselves.
Sam: Sits down and listens.
(Apparently I did a typo on Mileena’s spot earlier. I said ‘needs’ when I meant to say ‘kneads’. Lol)
De Tearion: Snorts. I have no reason to hide. My mind, my Vanisher cohort Nwalan, and my dear Mileena here are all I have.
Mileena: Hides a bit more behind De Tearion. She didn’t much like confrontations like this, but she understood well that De Tearion was trying to protect her and Kierthēl.
(You're good, lmao!)
Wren: Grins slightly Okay… if you believe you have no reason to hide from the other Goliathan, High Chancellor. And Mileena would have to disagree, yes? Seeing as young Kierthēl here is the only one of his kind.
Sam: Startled, since Wren should have had no way to know this.
(Lol, maybe I should’ve said that De Tearion would appreciate Wren if he didn’t piss him off first)
De Tearion: Snorts disdainfully. His eyes become emotionless, though no less intense. Former Chancellor. Vanishers are the High Chancellors. And Kierthēl, though unique, be not the only one. ‘Tis merely difficult to find others like him. And my brethren can burn in daylight for all I care!
Mileena: Now completely hiding behind De Tearion, startled and a bit afraid. She held tightly onto Kierthēl, one to keep him safe, two to reassure herself that he was there.
Kierthēl: Sensing something was wrong, he goes quiet and hugs Mileena to soothe her.
(Lmao, okay, time for Wren to leave!)
Wren: Sighs I see I have made a mistake… I shall take my leave now.
Sam: Quite confused by all of this.
(Lmao!)
De Tearion: Continues watching Wren until he’s out of sight. He then chirps irritably before taking a deep breath and rolling his eyes. I had realized not my reputation reached beyond the forests of home.
Mileena: This does seem to be a place parallel to the real world. I remember hearing stories of fae as a child. Maybe this is the place from those stories. She moves around De Tearion so she could better look at him, a bit lost but wanting to soothe him.
De Tearion: Sighs and shrugs, acknowledging her look with a small smile.
Sam: Nods Ideed, Mileena has figured it out. But, the Fae you heard stories of are not us. Those stories involve the Seelie and Unseelie courts. These are the Mist Courts, or Mist Realms.
Mileena: Nods. I understand. Though, I didn’t realize there were more than two Courts. But, they are just children’s stories, so… shrugs.
De Tearion: Sighs again, looking at Mileena. Clearly you understand more about Fae than I, my love. I know nothing of the tales, nor had I even heard the name of Fae until I met Sam.
Mileena: Holds his arm. I’ll show you the stories at some time.
De Tearion: Nods, his hand moving to hold hers.
Sam: Sighs There were only two, once upon a time. Then came the Ripping Asunder of the two original courts.
Mileena: Seems concerned by Sam’s words.
De Tearion: Sighs, rubbing Mileena’s hand. He then notices that she seemed to be somewhat struggling to hold Kierthēl. Hand me Kierthēl, that you can rest your shoulder.
Mileena: Looks at him, then willingly hands Kierthēl over, sighing in relief and rubbing her worn out arm. Thank you. He does get rather heavy after a while.
De Tearion: Nods in reply to Mileena, smiling. Aye, he gets that from me. Chuckles, holding Kierthēl easily.
Kierthēl: Watches the exchange without complaint, then gestures for De Tearion’s hand. When De Tearion gives it to him, he morphs it, fascinating him. He then starts tapping and rubbing the claws, as if trying to find the secret of how it morphs back and forth.
Mileena: Giggles. He has always been fascinated by that. It’s so cute.
De Tearion: Grins, wiggling his claws and causing Kierthēl to chirp and laugh. Indeed.
Sam: Watches it herself, fascinated. She stays silent for too long, she realizes, but doesn't really care too much. She's reached the limits of her social interaction skills.
De Tearion: He notices Sam’s silence after a moment and turns to her. I suppose you could show us around the city, introduce us to folks, or some such. Something to pass the time while we wait on Nwalan and Danielle. Chuckles in amusement.
Mileena: Her eyes brighten a bit. That would be fun. It’s been a while since I explored a new city.
Sam: Jumps, then grins sheepishly. She nods. What part of our city would you like to visit? The parks?
Mileena: Smiles softly at Sam, as if to reassure her. Anywhere works, I guess. We are newcomers, after all.
De Tearion: Glances at Mileena. True, yet I have always been fond of nature, for obvious reasons.
Sam: Nods. To the parks it is. She walks to the closest park, filled with silvery ash trees and white oaks.
De Tearion and Mileena follow Sam, admiring the park landscape.
De Tearion: ‘Tis fascinating to see such pale trees.
Mileena: Yeah. She looks at De Tearion and pauses, concerned. Are you alright?
De Tearion: Stops, looking at Mileena in confusion.
Mileena: Your left eye turned red for a moment.
De Tearion: Red?
Mileena: Your eye color. It changed from blue to red, then changed back.
De Tearion: Seems confused, then gently sets Kierthēl down. He moves to lean against a tree and looks at his arms. His human hand had paled considerably, and his clawed hand, which had been a dark shade of brown, was now an off-white. His eyes widened in shock, and he slid down the tree.
Kierthēl: Looks at De Tearion in confusion, then watchs him curiously. He sits down next to him, chirping and cooing.
Sam: Nods Indeed. Your color has paled because of your now blood relation to the Clan of Argentum.
De Tearion: Chuckles helplessly, taking deep breaths to keep himself calm. ‘Tis more than that. I am becoming an albino. They are more rare than half-breeds… and far less likely to survive.
Mileena: Her hand covers her mouth, muffling a gasp. It lowers after a moment, and she sits down on the ground. Her eyes then lock on De Tearion again. Your eye is red again.
De Tearion: Sighs. A red-eyed albino it seems. Thankfully not the white-eyed. His body sways a bit, then his eyes flicker before he collapses on his side.
Mileena: Yelps, rushing over to De Tearion, trying, and failing, to wake him up.
Kierthēl: Watches, confused and concerned.
Sam: Sighs and walks over, kneeling next to De Tearion and gently moving Mileena and Kierthēl aside. I have this. She closes her eyes and exhales, a white vapor coalescing in her hands. She pours it on De Tearion, and it swirls about his head for a moment before it enters him. He should wake up once more.
(I’m just going to do this real quick, because why not? Evil grin. I get fucking dark)
Mileena: Sits nearby, watching warily. Kierthēl is in her lap, cooing in confusion.
De Tearion: A moment passes after the white vapor enters him, then his entire body turns snow white. He starts to wheeze and his arms and legs spasm. He doesn’t wake.
(Damn…)
Sam: She gasps. She summons the only person that she knows that could possibly help. Unfortunately, it was Wren.
Wren: Looks down for a moment, then kneels. His form starts to glow and he vanishes. He had sacrificed himself to save this person he knew nothing about.
(Yeah. This is my reality, evil chuckle)
(And, apparently Sam forgot about Nwalan. Possibly would’ve spared Wren, uncertain shrug)
De Tearion: His breathing steadies and his limbs still, but he still doesn’t wake up.
Mileena: Has started crying. Nwalan. Nwalan, where are you?
Nwalan: Abruptly appears, as if answering Mileena’s call, and yelps in terror. He kneels next to De Tearion and waves his hands, conjuring what appeared to be a small orb made of black thread. He scrutinized it a moment, then shifted a few of the threads, watching De Tearion closely.
De Tearion: Gasps awake and lunges at Nwalan. His eyes are white, and his hands goes through Nwalan. He pauses, fully awakening, then retracts his hand, noting his ethereal nature. He morphs, the white melting away to reveal his natural, colored appearance, though his left eye is now silver instead of blue. He looks at Nwalan, confused and wary.
Nwalan: Dismisses the orb, sighing in relief. You nearly died after becoming a white-eyed albino. However, I moved that appearance to your Mist Form, which you can still change at your leisure. Your true form be back to its original black-blooded nature, with little risk of changing again.
De Tearion: Stares at Nwalan a moment, then lies down, breathing deeply and looking upward in a daze.
(Lmao!)
(Maybe, but when a Changeling starts fading, it starts fading everywhere. Although, this Wren dying doesn't effect any other Wrens.)
Sam: Saddened by Wren's needless sacrifice. Why did I not think of you?
(Shrug. Either way. And yeah, makes sense, lol)
Nwalan: Turns to Sam. This Wren creature did not die needlessly. Ehumar would have perished without his assistance. Wren’s help stabilized him enough to put him into a coma, instead of death.
De Tearion: Still in a daze, but listening. He glances over, confused.
Mileena: Watching, speechless and having difficulty processing everything that just happened.
Kierthēl: Points at Nwalan. Vanisher! Starts laughing.
Sam: Still sad. Okay, okay… She grins at Kierthēl's word. Yes, he is a Vanisher.
De Tearion: Overhears Kierthēl and chuckles.
Mileena: Laughs at Kierthēl’s word. She then looks at Sam, smiling, and hoping to cheer her up. ‘Vanisher’ was the first word Kierthēl ever said. And he always says it with the same dramatic tone.
Nwalan: Snickers, talks in a goofy tone. He loves me.
Sam: Laughs as well. That is particularly amazing.
Mileena: It really is. I never thought ‘Vanisher’ would be anywhere near his first words. Chuckles.
Kierthēl: Looks around curiously, aware that he’s being talked about.
De Tearion: Chuckles some more.
Sam: Still chuckling. What else has he learned?
Mileena: He actually knows a small variety of words, and knows the basics of sentences. He just seems to pick it up as he goes. And, right now, his current obsession is hair. He’ll spend hours studying or playing with my or Tearion’s hair. Giggles.
Nwalan: Snickers. The mind of a Goliathan.
