Auretta nods weakly. “I-I was terrified…e-especially after what I saw it do to Spark…” she whimpers. “I-I was scared that I was n-next…”

Val looks at Nori knowingly, then back to Auretta.

Nori strokes her hair, something he did to help calm Ari down. "Hey, hey its okay. Just close your eyes for a minute." He inhales sharply, then closes his eyes as well. "Listen, I-I've had anxiety my whole life. Maybe it's because My brain was fucked around with and im naturally paranoid, but I have it. And I'll get panic attacks a lot." He sighs, the stroking more a comfort to him now. "When my dad told me about this contract, that I would have to leave home and live somewhere else for god knows how long, I shut down. I couldn't think of anything else but all the bad things that could happen to me and Ari. I couldn't think straight, I couldn't even breathe at some points," He chuckles. "And that wasn't even the worst of it. I mean, I-I could be wrong.. It could be something else, but what happened to you might be that." He looks down. "Sorry, I kind of vented for a minute."

Val nods, having been thinking exactly that. Except, my panic attacks destroy mountains…

Auretta hugs Nori tightly. “I-It’s okay…” she mumbles, shutting her eyes gently. “I-I just…it might be that…maybe it might be something else…m-maybe it’s both…” she sighs. “I-I don’t know…” she tightens her grip on him, whimpering. “I-I’m scared, Nori-“

I’m so scared…someone please help me…make it stop… she thinks, snuggling her face in her friend’s shoulder.

Val hears Auretta's mental pleas and sighs. Worry not, little one… she says telepathically to Auretta, altering the voice to sound more msytical, and lighter. I shall help… The pain that had been besieging Auretta so constantly is whisked away, her mind cleared of the ill effects seeing her friends arm ripped off had. It shall be alright, little wing… and the voice fades away. Val staggers a little from the efforts of doing all that, but quickly recovers.

Auretta soon calms down, going silent as she clings to Nori. “Mm…” she mumbles, wiping her tears away with her wrist.

Val looks to Auretta. "I- I heard the voice. Are you okay?"

Auretta shakes her head. “N-Not really…” she mumbles.

"Okay… do you want to talk about it?" Val asks, sitting down.

Auretta shakes her head again. “No…not really…” she mumbles.

"Okay. Let me know when you do." Val says, getting up and going to her own tent.

Auretta nods, still clinging to Nori. Tears prick her eyes again as she whimpers.

Nori hugs her back tightly, drawing her into his soft sweater. He makes soft shushing sounds as he sings softly in Japanese. He looks to Val, extremely concerned now

Auretta snuggles her face in Nori’s shoulder, practically melting in his arms as she whimpers.

Nori rubs her back, leaning into her hair. “It’s okay. Everything will be okay.” He rummages in his bag with his free arm, taking out a bottle of pills. “Here. If you’re still feeling nervous, take one of these.”

Val listens, but doesn't comment. She sighs, then goes to sleep.

Auretta shakily takes the bottle. “T-Thanks…” she mumbles, leaning her head on Nori’s shoulder. She still felt pretty nervous but she didn’t want to worry the others. “Mm…”

Nori continues rubbing her back, holding her closer. “What are you feeling right now?”

“H-Hungry…and my head hurts…” Auretta whines. “I-I also feel pretty sore…” she adds, looking up at him with tears in her eyes.

Nori relaxes his grip on her, smiling. “Do you like fruit snacks, Etta?”

Auretta nods, rubbing her eyes. “Y-Yeah…I-I do…” she mumbles.

Nori grins, taking a few out of his bag. “Here. I know they’re not super filling, but hopefully that helps. Have you had water recently?”

Auretta shakes her head. “N-No…” she murmurs, taking the fruit snacks. “T-That might be another reason I feel so terrible…”

Nori rolls his eyes, laughing. “There we go! There’s a valid reason. He hands her his waterbottle, covered in skater stickers and the office memes. “This is mine, so hopefully you don’t get mono or something.” He chuckles

Auretta laughs weakly before drinking some water. “T-Thanks…” she smiles sadly.

Nori continues stroking her hair, trying to keep her warm. He folds his wings inward, wrapping them around both of them. “You okay?”

Auretta continues drinking water before wiping her mouth. “I…I don’t know…” she sighs, leaning closer to Nori. “It’s pretty bad…” she mumbles.

Nori holds her closer, sighing. "I'm really sorry. I really wish I knew what to do to help."

Eventually, Valerie wakes up and goes hunting. She skins the rabbits she catches away from everyone, then starts cooking them.
