Ren giggles at a horrifying image and saves it for later. She puts her phone away after a couple more seconds and leans over to Jay, writes something and passes it over to him.
You know, if you don't want people to be assholes don't be an asshole to them. is all the note said.
At first, Jay doesn't acknowledge the note. As he is focused on his art and listening to music, it is rather easy for him to ignore the world for a few more minutes. Once class starts, he'll have to stop, but, currently, he is busy with everything else. If one would look closely at him, they would notice a small smile on his face.
Ren watches Jay out of the corner of her eye. The teacher walks in and introduces herself. Ren just ignores her, continuing to watch Jay.
What is his deal? Doesn't he see the note?
As class starts, Jay slowly comes back into reality, removing one of his earbuds and lowering the volume of his music. He sees the note sitting on his desk, and he reads it, but he doesn't have much of a reaction to it. He isn't in the mood to care about what others think of him.
Ren sees him pick up the note and read it, then not react.
Damn it, why doesn't this kid get annoyed or angry? she wonders, irritated.
She sighs, then grabs out her own notebook and continues on the drawing she left off on: a grisly murder scene. She smirks as she works on it, knowing that nobody would suspect her as the murderess.
By this point in life, Jay was far too used to people saying negative things to him to care. It would take something new and even worse than everything he's already been told to get a response of anger or annoyance out of him. There were things that upset him, but they were rarely comments directed towards himself.
He sighs as he continues a drawing. He's still listening to the teacher, but he's working on his art as well.
Ren eventually finishes her own drawing and grins. Perfect. She stows it away in her bag.
She looks over to find Jay still working on his own art, and sighs. What does a girl have to do to get noticed? Kill something?
Jay is just the kind of person who easily gets lost in his own little world, especially when he was drawing. If Ren knew that, it would be clear that it took a lot to get him to notice people. This was even more so when he was listening to music.
Ren sighs again. When class ends, she just lets him be. Hopefully I have him the hour after this one.
She waits out the hour, then goes to her next class, watching to see if he enters the room.
By some coincidence, Jay does happen to have this class with her as well. Much like the previous class they had, Jay sits in the back of the classroom before grabbing his sketchbook.
Ren follows him and just looks at him, stunned that someone could ignore her so easily. Even if they are focused on art and music.
What the fuck? Do I just need to stab him or something?
Given that Jay already hated society on top of the fact that he was listening to music at full volume and was drawing, most people knew he wouldn't be responding to them. Most didn't approach him, though.
She just sighs and turns to the front of the class, then growls, loudly, when she sees the teacher.
"Hey, Professor Bitch, up here! Yeah, me! What the fuck is rong with you?" she shouts, the teacher looking stunned that she remembered him.
"Yeah, I've got a complaint against you. Watch who you assault next time."
Jay simply sighs as this happens. He doesn't question it, nor does he really care. He knows something happened, but it isn't his business, and this isn't the first time he's heard a student insult one of the teachers. He just focuses his attention on drawing, as usual.
The rest of the class titters, and she smirks. The professor continues class with a noticeable avoidance of the back rows, where she and Jay were. After class, she turns to Jay.
"So… I don't care what you think. Honestly, I don't even care if you say no. But we're going to go out for some coffee." she smirks, yanking out one of his earbuds.
"Can you not touch my earbuds?" Jay glares at her as he goes to put it back in. "However, if you want my attention that badly, I'll go with you." He doesn't trust her, not in the slightest, but he is fed up with her constant annoying behavior and attempts to give his attention. He stands up, looking at her once more. "Well, with that out of the way, let's go."
Ren laughs at Jay's glare and boops his nose, knowing he won't like it. "Good." she throws over her shoulder, walking out of the room and flipping off the teacher. She waits outside the door for Jay.
"Please don't touch me." He walks out of the classroom, following Ren despite hating her presence. "Anyways, with all of that aside, why don't we just head to get our coffee now?"
"Why not?" she asks, turning and booping his nose again. She turns again, then starts walking towards an emergency exit door. "Sure." she tosses over her shoulder.
"Could you possibly try to respect my boundaries?" The annoyance in his tone grew since the last time he spoke, showing how annoyed he was getting. "Anyways, let's just go."
Ren shoots a look behind her that says "No, I won't. Get used to it."
She also laughs and opens the emergency door, which obviously trips an alarm. She steps out and watches as everyone looks at them in confusion and annoyance.
Jay doesn't seem to mind the chaos Ren's actions caused, as he would occasionally think about causing chaos just for fun. He never did, wanting to prove that he could be a good person, but he thought about it just to annoy all the people who annoyed him. He is, however, still annoyed with how close Ren is trying to get to him.
Ren watches him. "Let's go. The cops and a fire truck will show up soon. We don't want to be caught at the door." she says, grabbing Jay's arm and dragging him through the door.
Once they are out the door, Jay distances himself from Ren. "I'm not sure where you want to go for coffee, but go ahead and take me there." Despite everything, he is willing to follow her.
Ren grins, letting the door fall closed behind them as the sound of sirens starts. She laughs, and a loud series of pops and medium sized explosions starts up in the chemistry wing. She looks up, and laughs harder. "Come on, let's go to Starbucks." she smirks, walking off.
Jay continues to have his neutral, blank expression, though he is actually quite amused by what he just witnessed. He just doesn't want to show it since he is still rather uncomfortable around Ren.
"Yeah, Starbucks sounds nice." He looks at her as they walk off once more, now on their way to Starbucks.
Ren grins and skips off, doing cartwheels and humming. They reach Starbucks just as the firetrucks and cops are racing by to the school, which makes her grin. "We're here. What do you want?"
(I don't go to Starbucks enough to specify an order. Apologies if this seems lazy)
Jay thinks for a moment before giving his order, then glancing back at all of the chaos that was started. Internally, he is smiling. Externally, he is as neutral, expressionless, and annoyed as usual.
(You're good, lmao! I drink coffee literally every day from Starbucks, and, well… I'm that one person who comes up with what fucking coffee a character drinks!)
Ren looks over at Jay as he places his order, then orders a venti caramel mocha. She leaves without paying for either drink, and when someone tried to stop her, she gave them a sadistic grin and pulled out a four-inch pocketknife. The person backed down immediately.
(That's fine! I personally like going out to get coffee, but I don't do it often, and rarely from Starbucks. I usually go to this local coffee shop)
You know, I was not expecting this girl to have weapons on her.. While his expressions remain neutral, Jay is impressed by this. She's a very interesting person. Her appearance would imply that she's harmless and innocent, yet she's sadistic and chaotic. Maybe she's a bit like me, just in the opposite. It is those thoughts that make him consider opening up to her a bit.
