"Oh, fudge," Blaine whispered. "We can't start without Venus and Nessa."

"Yeah Venus is our make up girl….." Ender was pacing back and forth.

Venus watched the gallon number rise, and with it, the price. "Come on… come on…" she hopped from foot to foot anxiously. Finally, she swiped her card and sped off. She checked the time. 25 minutes to opening time. How could she be so careless? She pulled into the parking lot, spraying gravel everywhere. For a second, she just sat. ("Woah…") Then she sprung into action, grabbing her backpack and duffel bag and sprinting inside. She collapsed on a couch for an instant, then roused herself to her cabinet, leaving her bags on the couch.

Ender ran over to her. "Hi!"

"Hi," she said, breathlessly. She wrapped her arms around him and inhaled his sweet, sharp scent.

"Are you okay? You're really late…"

"I promise I'll tell you, but can we talk after I'm done makeup. I'll do water duty with you."

"Okay…." He kissed her on the forehead and headed over to the counter, still worried.

Nessa watched the clock and frantically bubbled in the last few answers, "Sorry for not taking the test earlier Mamm!" Nessa's teacher took the test and she flew out the door right into another student, "Oof Sorry!" She got up off the floor, "Do you mind !" the kid got up and Nessa sprinted off, "Sorry I'm late for work!" She bursted through the front door, "Sorry had to take the test I missed last Wednesday!"

Ender flinched. "Holy smokes Nessa…."
