Bull nodded, gave a thumbs-up, and walked away.

“I’ll be back,”Boris said as a farewell before heading off.

“So, ya want to show me around the birds? Or do ya have other stuff to do right off the bat? It don’t matter to me,”Jonathan casually asked Keigo.

Amelia waited on Keigo’s answer to Jonathan, curious. She also went through her mental list of things she wanted to do, making sure she remembered everything.

“ if Amelia doesn't mind we could go get the bird first,” he said. Keigo looked to her for her answer “if we go to the bird first we might wanna bring toaci, but if have to bundle him up first. He gets sick and cold easily”

Jonathan nodded, then looked at Amelia inquisitively.

“I don’t mind. I’ve got a little ship waiting on me that needs some TLC. You have fun looking at the birds,”Amelia said, smiling.

Keigo nodded and headed back inside, he came back out with toaci tucked inside his jacket and a small beenie around his head. “ cold.”toaci called as soon as he came outside.

Amelia smiled and giggled at the sight of Toaci, then went into her ship to gather some things to tranfer to Keigo’s ship. She would get a room of her own, but she doubted she would be in it that much. Not that she didn’t mind. She absolutely adored being around Keigo.

Jonathan waited outside while Keigo went to get Toaci. He snickered when he saw the bird, his huge grin still on his face.

“Lead the way, because I have no idea where I’m going,”Jonathan said, his tone light and happy.

“ I planned on it, “ he said and walked as it it was sunshine outside. Keigo loved the cold weather. It reminded him of his childhood in Russia, before the exile. He took a deep breath mumbling something to himself “ слава матушка россия “ he spoke softly.

Jonathan snickered, then followed Keigo. He overheard Keigo mumble something, but didn’t pry. Besides, his brain was a bit preoccupied on birds.

Amelia carried over her things, setting up a room for herself in Keigo’s ship. Somehow, it felt right doing so. She had been cooped up in her ship for over a year. It was about time she moved in somewhere else.

Keigo went into the bird tent, a multitude of colorful birds squeaked and called. Some looking similar but ever as colorful as toaci

“Wow,”Jonathan breathed, looking around at all the birds. His eyes lit up with fascination, and he seemed much like a little kid about to pick a new puppy.

“ pick anyone, just ask about the breed first,” he said knowingly.

Jonathan wandered around, admiring all of the birds, mesmerized by their colors. He paused in front of a green parrot with blue and red highlights.

The bird squawked. “Hello.”

“Hello,”Jonathan said, his grin widening.

The bird bobbed up and down excitedly.

“ I think it’s chose you beta,” keigo said with a smile. “ it seems to have a connection with you,” he said softly, keigo held his hand out for the bird to perch so he could hand it to johnathan.

The bird hopped onto Keigo’s hand, then onto Jonathan’s. The bird inspected Jonathan, whistling happily.

“Pretty bird,”Jonathan said.

“Pretty bird. Pretty bird. Hello,”the bird replied, bobbing up and down.

Jonathan snickered, then looked at Keigo.

“Yeah, this one’s a winner.”

“Winner,”the bird said, whistling.

Jonathan laughed.

Keigo snickered and went to go find the merchant. He eventually found him and paid for the bird, going back to Jonathan with the supplies he'd need and a cage for the burd.

When Keigo came back, the bird was tucked in Jonathan’s jacket under his chin, whistling a tune and seeming quite content.

“He did this by himself. I had no contribution to him getting in my jacket,”Jonathan said, half-joking.

“Thank ya, by the way. Truly,”he added.

“ your welcome, it's the least I could do for you saving my ass on multiple occasions. “ he said. Keigo showed Jonathan the way out and back to the ship, talking about the dos and don'ts of birds.

Jonathan listened closely to Keigo, learning as much as he could. The bird still whistled lightly in his jacket.

Boris stood next to the ship, snacking on some hot food and seeming unfazed by the cold. He smiled in greeting, then snickered at the sight of Jonathan’s bird.

“And the chaos begins, I see,”Boris mused.

“ yeas yeas it does” Keigo said like an arch enemy.
He walked into the ship and let toaci out of his jacket. He went to the kitchen and got hot coffee almost immediately.

Boris laughed, then went back to eating.

Jonathan went to his room, beginning to rearrange it and set up his bird’s cage and other stuff. He was indecisive on a name.

The bird sat on his desk, watching Jonathan and fiddling with his computer mouse.

Keigo went back to his room, letting toaci play with the new bird. Keigo was going to take a nap while everyone had their fun. He was still in a bit of pain so he was going to try and sleep it off.

“Hello,”Jonathan’s bird greeted Toaci.

Jonathan continued to rearrange, watching the two birds with an amused grin.

Bull returned a bit later, a few scarves around his neck and his arms each holding a few shawls. Boris, who was still outside, noted his approach with a snicker.

“Apparently Martha’s granddaughter has a crush on me. Fucking hilarious,”Bull mentioned, chuckling.

“Yeah, it definitely looks like it. I’m surprised your face isn’t covered with red lip prints,”Boris teased.

“She doesn’t have lipstick,”Bull replied with a sly grin.

Boris laughed.

Keigo kept tossing and turning, he let out an aggravated growl and threw the blankets over his head. He couldn't wait for Amelia. He was going to drag her to the damn bed if he had too.

Amelia returned, holding a few trinkets to decorate her room with. Boris smiled in greeting.

“Everybody else is already back. Jonathan has a new bird. It’s going to be so fucking chaotic and funny,”Boris explained.

Amelia giggled,”Definitely.”

Amelia then went to her room to drop off her stuff, palming a necklace she had gotten as she made her way to Keigo’s room.

She smiled at him and sat down next to him.

“Well, seeing that you’re being tormented by sleeplessness, could you sit up a moment, love?”Amelia asked lightly.

“ sure,” he sat up, leaning towards her. “ what is it love?” he asked softly.

Amelia smiled and kissed him, putting the blue and silver necklace around his neck, pulling the same trick he had done to her. The pendant was a small hammer with his name engraved on both sides of the head.

“For the gifts you’ve given me,”she cooed, staring into his eyes lovingly.

Keigo looked down at the necklace and smiled softly, “ thank you,” he said and kissed her. He held it for a couple minutes.

She savored his kiss, then smiled warmly at him.

“You’re welcome, love,”she purred.

“Shall we take that nap you were trying to have?”she asked a few minutes later.

“ Could we? “ he said with a chuckle and went to lay back down. He pulled the blankets over him and shivered a bit.
