"Mhmm, not because you definitely wanted to watch me, surre." He teased, pressing a kiss to Connor's temple. He chuckled softly "what can I say my love? I love a good chase." Jas gaze flickered up when Connor's squeezed his hand towards his friends lounging in the chairs. He gave a slight night if his head, indicating that Connir was safe. "This is Connor. Connor, these are my friends, Sasha, Conan, and Rowan." He introduced, waving to a white haired girl with striking blue eyes, a tall, lankey man with blue hair and dark makeup, and another older man. "They're the ones who raised me." He said, gently rubbing the back of his hand, hoping Connor would go along with his story for this life.
"I'm telling you it wasn't, honestly you're so mean sometimes kitty." He laughed hitting his arm softly. Connor followed each person with his eyes as Jas said his name. "Hey, guys." He gave a confused look from the story he gave but just went with it anyway. "You guys probably know everything about me already. You know being a hero and all." Connor resists the urge to change his face. It was reflex whenever he didn't know someone. To block them off before they get too close. He looked back up to jas, letting himself smile before leaning on his shoulder.
Has smiled proudly at Connor for saying hi and wrapped an arm around Connor's shoulder, tucking him close to his side.
"Ah so this is the one Sunil told us about. The one you quote 'wont shut up about' and quote 'would lay the moon and stars at his feet for him' unquote." Rowan said with a grin, offering a scared hand to Connor in greeting.
Jas huffed a small laugh to hide his embarrassment.
"Oh so it's true? The cat bows to the bird, huh?" Sasha trilled, nudging Jas' shoulder. Jas hissed at the girl and picked her side. "Shush, you'd the same for Conan." He winked at the man in the corner, hiding his face in his turtle neck.
"Of course I would." She giggled, waving at Connor before bouncing back to Conan's side, pressing a teasing kiss to his cheek
Connor took Rowan's hand with a blush. Connor looked back to Jas with a grin. "You said that about me." He huffed. Connor kissed Jas's cheek, wearing that same smile. "That's cute, kitty." Connor waved back, chuckling at Sasha's actions. "I've only heard about Suni and maybe Sasha, but not the rest of you. I'm guessing Sasha and Conan are together. Just a small guess I don't know." he joked. "I know Suni is single as a pringle. As for Rowan, I have no idea." Connor played with Jas's hands as he spoke, still being quite nervous.
Has only blushed more but managed a nod.
Rowan laughed and waved to the chairs, offering the two a seat. "He's said far worse. But we'll save him the embarrassment for now." Rowan winked and settled down. "Suni's my brother. Jas too but in the stray cat kinda way." She teased, glancing down as Conan cuddled up beside her.
Jas rolled his eyes and settled in a chair across from Rowan, gently tugging Connor down with him. He gently rubbed Connor's back and pressed his lips close to his ear sononky he would hear. "Let me know when you want to leave. We can always come back when you're more comfortable." He offered softly, pressing a whisper of a kiss to his ear before breaking away to listen to his sister and father.
Connor squeezed his hand when Jas whispered. He shivered at the sensation before looking at Jas a mouthing that he was okay just nervous. He also told him not to whisper in his ear as he did. Connor leaned back in the chair letting Jas's warm frame wrap around him. "You should tell your brother not to pop up at people's places unannounced. It scares me every time he does it, Rowan." He was curious what else Jas said about him, but he left it alone. "I hat that I didn't notice sooner that he liked me. Maybe he wouldn't have had to suffer as much. Anyway, what exactly do you guys know about me? Based off of what Jas said of course."
Has chuckled lightly but reluctantly nodded, not wanting to embarrass him in front of his family.
"Suni has a tendency to be in places he shouldn't. Habit of his since he's more of a theif. But he usually means well." Rowan replied, giving Connir an apologetic glance.
"Oh he definitely suffered. Poor thing called out your name in his sleep and moped about in his teenage years."
Has huffed a light but said nothing, knowing he had been head over heels for Connir long before this life.
"Not much, actually since has never really went into why he loved you so much. We knew the basics. That you were a hero and that you were a shapeshifter. Not much else."
He gave a sigh of relief. "I was just wondering. Since he hasn't told you that much. I like music a lot and dancing, but only when I'm alone so I get embarrassed when people watch me. I hate my job. It's not that I don't not like being a hero it's just so boring without Jas there. It's just chasing this, arrest him, bring in her, etc. With Jas it's more of like jump of a building, shift, try to find out where he goes, hold him at gunpoint only to have you hesitate, and he disappears. You know?"
"he kept your life interesting, whether you liked him at the time or not." Conan piped up from his spot beside Sasha. Sasha smiled down at her partner and gently pet through his hair with a proud smiled.
Jas purred softly and nuzzled Connor's cheek. "I'm glad my life threatening stunts brought you Joy, love." He teased, smiling at his beloved. He couldn't have been more happy with the reaction his family has with Connor, despite him being a hero and Jas' family being comprised of criminals
Connor giggles in response to Jas's nuzzle. "You and your crazy stunts keep me alive." Connor joked. He sighed, relaxing more. "I was pretty scared to meet you guys. The funny thing, right. Not because you were criminals or anything like that. Mostly because I didn't want to screw it up completely, and I don't exactly have friends either. Usually, when I'm not looking at Jas, I sort of have the expression that Jas has seen since forever until recently, so I didn't want that to happen either."
"ah so you have a resting don't-mess-with-me-or-you're-fucked face." Sasha nodded with a smug grin as she caught Jas' glare. "Jas clearly never got the memo, considering he was always secretly turned on by that look, isn't that right, Tom cat?" Sasha ducked and covered Conan as Jas threw a nearby pillow at his sister. She snickered and lightly pulled away to check on Conan's well being.
"You're one to talk. One look from Conan and you're begging on your knees for his love." Jas muttered, huffing a small sigh to calm his flustered heart.
"But of course. How could I not?" She giggled and gently traced a light finger beneath Conan's jaw.
Has smiled softly at her sister and brother in law.
"I guess we are the same, in the sense that we would do anything for those that we love." He murmured, gently squeezing Connor close to his form. "Now if only our vixen could learnt he same." Jas sighed, looking over at Suninas he slunk over in his fox form
"Yeah, pretty much-wait-" Connor couldn't help his ears turning red as he tried to process what was explained. There was a big loading screen in the center of his brain where he used to think. "I-…" he slowly turned his head to Jas. "Does that really…you know. I mean it's fine if it does I'm not saying I'm opposed to it or anything. Nor am I really uncomfortable with it…you know let's change the subject!" He laughed awkwardly. "It's very nice to meet you all and you are all really cool, but why does Suni hate me so much. Besides the fact that I'm a hero?"
Jas rested his chin in his hand and gave a signature cat grin, hair obscuring his features, making him appear more roguish. "But of course it did. It still does, though less often since it's not always directed at me." He brought Connor's hand to his lips and placed a tender kiss to his knuckles, all the while maintain eye contact.
He breathed a laugh and glanced over towards Suni, reaching over to scratch the Fox's ear. "He doesn't hate you, he's just jelous you're taking all my attention away from him. He did the same with Conan she Sasha and he first met."
Suni snapped his teeth at Jas' hand and meandered over to Rowan, but not before giving Jas a knowing look. His aversion towards Connor ran deeper than jelousy but he knew better than to expose has and Connor out to their family so he kept his mouth shut. Jas gave an apologetic look to his brother and sighed. "Love, didn't you say there was someone you wanted Suni to meet back at your job? That chef?" He asked, smiling again when he saw Suni's ears perked up
Connor looked away, covering his mouth. "Don't look at me like that. I didn't know that you like that…" He nodded along to was Jas was saying in response to his question from earlier. He took a deep breath. "Well, I'm glad he doesn't hate me, and yes, I do have someone that Suni would like to meet." He pulled out his phone, trying to find a picture of him. "I know you don't like heroes that much, but he works there to cook food for us and things like that. Despite the was he looks compassionate and just a big softy when you get to know if. If you want to know him." Once he finally found a picture, he laid his phone down on the floor so that Suni could see. The man had messy blond hair but was quite muscular and looked like someone you wouldn't want to mess with. "I'm pretty sure he's Russian," Connor added. He was in chef's wear while holding a three-layer cake and standing next to three other heroes.
Jas chuckled lightly and pressed a kiss to Connor's temple. He watched over the other's shoulder and nodded his head, remembering back to the food he had had while in the prison.
Suni barked softly and trotted over, curiousity peaked. He sniffed at the phone and examined the photo. He would have been lying he said the man in the picture didn't interest him. He shifted back to his human form and handed the phone back "he's cute." Suni admitted, settling in a nearby chair. "Call me when you want me to meet him." He said simply, glancing around the room to find Sasha, Rowan, and Jas Al staring at him. "What?" He bristled slightly and crossed his arms over his chest. Sashes pulled herself away from Conan and sat on the arm of suni's chair. "Nothin, it's just surprising to see our little brother fall for someone like a chef." She teased, ruffling Suni's hair. Suni glared at her and shoved the girl off the couch. "I'm not falling for anyone. I'm merrly interested in this person, that's all." He argued, watching as Sasha stood and go back to Conan.
"Of course, I'll text him right now. How does Saturday sound to you? He works every day and Saturday is his shortest day. If that's okay with you I don't want to make anything of it. I'll be gone so I won't be there when you two meet." He hummed texting Damion about meeting Suni. "I'm glad you find him cute though. I'm sure you two will get along well. I think." Connor yawned and groaned softly. "He's a very open guy, so he won't have a problem with it."
Suni shifted uncomfortably in his chair, the idea if actually being set up with someone to potentially go on a date with truely hitting him. "Uhm, y-yeah. Saturday works fine." He replied, glancing around the small circle of family surrounding him, a light blush on his cheeks when he found his father and siblings smiling proudly. "Great, hopefully I won't mess things up." Suni muttered, walking over to Connor to look over his shoulder as he texted Damion. "His name is nice." He noted softly, swallowing nervously. "I-im not great at this. When and where would we meet?" He asked, taking the hand Jas offered and squeezing it. "Do I need to wear anything fancy?"
Jas laughed softly and shook his head. "You're fine the way you are Vixen. You'll win this guy over just with your charm." He reassured, gently nudging Connor's head with his own. "We should probably get going soon. I didn't realize how late it was."
Connor closed his eyes and hummed leaning into the nudges. "Alright…" he sighed like a little kid. He stood up and couldn't help but smile at Suni. "Great Saturday it is! There will be no need for fancy outfits. Dress as yourself, I'll tell Jas where to meet so he could tell you. Trust me you'll be fine. You'll get to know a lot about him." He looked over to Jas and waved his hand for them to go. "Let's get home so we can sleep. Cuddles may or may not be involved." he joked.
"they always are," has teased, standing and stretching. He smiled at his family and hugged Rowan and Sasha. "Thank you." He whispered softly, breaking away to embrace Conan. While only recently becoming his brother in law, Jas truely felt Conan belonged in their rag-tag family more than any other individual Sasha had dated in the past. "Thank you." He whispered to him, giving Conan a small wink. Other than Suni, he was the only other one who knew about who Jas and Connor really were. Conan nodded slight before they let go of each other. Jas walked back to to Connor and Suni and pulled his younger brother into a tight hug. "You're gonna do great vixen." He murmured, ruffling suni's hair as the other lightly hit his arm. "Yeah, yeah. I know. Just nervous." He admitted, hugging Jas back and sighing. "I don't wanna scew it up."
Jas shook his head "you won't. From what Connor has told me, Damion seems like your type."
Suni's hugged a laugh "what, problematic, two faced duche bags?"
"No." Jas replied, gently pulling back and retreating back to Connor's side. "Someone who will actually care about you, vixen. In a living and soft way." He smiled softly and gently pulled Connor into a walk towards the door, leaving suni's blushing but with a smile.
Connor waved and smiled as well. "I assume from what he said he hasn't had the best luck with relationships. I'm glad I helped him out just a little. He may dislike me, but he seems like a sweet guy. Kind of like you, you always say you're some bad guy, but that's not the way I see you. Yes, you murder people, and yes, you are sometimes problematic, but you care. To that makes anyone worth loving." Connor kissed his cheek. "Let's go home. I'll be leaving early tomorrow because I'm leaving for Florida, so I'll text you where to tell Suni to go to meet up with Damion."
Jas rolled his eyes playfully and wrapped an arm around Connor's shoulder. "Murdered, darling. I've only ever killed two people in my lifetime. Believe me, I've restrained myself from killing multiple time, more times I'd like to admit." He pressed a kiss to Connor's brow as they started down the street. "Problematic in general, or just to you?" He teased, nuzzling Connor's neck. He pouted softly at the mention of the mission and sighed "are you really leaving me here all alone? I promise I won't do anything while we're there." He whined, letting his cat ears show. "Please sweetheart?" He begged
Connor gave him a cold glare, crossing his arms as he did so. "Which lifetime are we talking about 'darling'" he scoffed. "Yes, you are problematic in general." He sighed and listened to Jas complain about him leaving before looking back up at him and blushing. "This is an important mission. You can't pull that out on me, you know how cute I think it is." He groaned and gave in. "FIne you can come, but if you cause trouble for me, if you kill someone, if you follow me when I go out on the mission, or if you cause trouble for Jake; you're going straight back. Are we clear?" His tone was dry, anyone from a mile away could tell that he was serious.
Jas straightened, a frown tugging at his lips. "Any of them. I've only killed two people. The rest were faked deaths. That or they were given the option of leaving the country." He muttered, gaze growing slightly distant. He laughed humorlessly at Connor's confirmation and gave a glare. "I'm not the only one." He retorted softly. His ears flicked as a satisfied from spread on his features, "you won't even know I'm there." He promised, pressing a kiss to Connor's hand. "I was right before, you are very alluring when your serious." He laughed softly and took a breath, relieving some temtion in his chest and shoving aside the guilt rising in his throat
Connor looked in the opposite direction his ears glowing red. "I-I am not. You're the only one who sees it like that." He held onto Jas's hand even after the kiss. He gave it a light squeeze of reassurance as he continued to walk. "How do fake other people's deaths? Do you just let them go and then say they died like how does that work? Even if that is the case, why not just kill them at that point or not even say they're dead you know? If you handed them over to us I promise you we would've given them a life sentence. If you presented the right evidence." Connor leaned his head on Jas's shoulder. "We also have to pack when we get home and I'll tell you about how the flight will work later."
"then I guess I'm lucky then." He smiled softly and nudged Connor's head affectionately, a soft purr starting in his throat. "A few well placed threats here and there will often times do the job of keeping them quiet. If not, then the knowledge that I could come out of nowhere and suddenly end their pitiful life shuts them up very quickly. Conving others that someone is dead is the tricky part. You wouldn't believe how many families I've had to break that news to. Usually they're alright with getting rid of a problematic family member. Other times it's not as easy but it's for the better." He shrugged his shoulders and shoved his free hand into his pocket. "Like I said before, dearest. I don't work well with others. That includes your little band of hereos. I'd much rather work things out myself." He explained, glancing up as they exited the lesser part of the city. "How early is the flight?" He asked, trying his to hide a yawn. "This kitty is ready for a cat nap. A very long cat nap."
"I see…well, I don't understand that because you seem to work well with me, in many ways might I add." He thought for a moment. "5 A.M; we can sleep once we get to Florida. Don't worry, and I'll buy you a ticket once e get there. We'll probably have to wake up at 3and get there by 4 to pass all security measures. Have you been on a plane before in this life, right? If not, then I sure have a lot of things to explain to you. Wait, can't we teleport back?" He asked, unsure of why they were walking back home.
"you're the exception, love." Has replied, groaning at the mention of waking up early. "3 am?! Darling, I'm sleeping to the airport, on the plane, and at the hotel. Honestly I'm tempted to stay here." He joked, a trilled purring sound escaping him. "I thought you didn't like it when I teleport, made you sick." He pressed a kiss to Connor's hand. "Would you still like to? We're not that far away even if we do walk."
"Then we can walk home. A night stroll with you feels pleasant." He blushed slightly from the kiss on his hand. "If you think that's bad they have your powers removed. They don't want any terrorists trying to kill hundreds of people on a plane. So, they will be completely removed. I'm used to it, but that last time you got your powers taken away you didn't look so good. It's at the point where once you walk on a plane you shift back to whatever form is your original form, so I have to deal with my wings. Also, the flight is…6 hours long."
Jas nodded his head with a smile, turning his face up to the cool breeze. "It can't be as bad as it was back in the cell. I'll just have to stay as a cat until we get to the hotel. It won't be so bad." He hoped, a grin crossing his features. "I like your wings dearest. You're beautiful. I wouldn’t mind solely spending 6 hours with you, probably even more, though maybe not in a cramped plane.” Jas chuckled lightly and looked around the area, illuminated streets and small shops staying open lte gave a very calm ambiance. “So did you like them? My family, I mean.” He asked, biting his lip nervously “it’s alright if not, I know they can be intense. Especially Sasha.”
"I know you like my wings. Thank you for that." He kissed his nose before continuing to walk. As the cold air surrounded him, Connor could see his breath with every huff. He gave a confused look and pulled Jas to stop walking. "Jas are you kidding?" Connor held his cold hands against Jas's cheek. "They were wonderful. I'm grateful that you trust me enough to introduce them to me." Connor kissed his forehead and started to walk again. "Come on let's get home so we can get warm and start packing."
