(sorry that I'm so late, I'll be much more active during the week)
William looked at Hiro with wondrous eyes. "I can remove physical pain, but not anything like cuts. So I can fix you." William started healing Hiro, which made him sleepy. After he finished, Hiro would feel fine, but now William needs to sleep.
Hiro felt his head and stomach stop swimming, and he noticed the sudden tiredness of his buddy. Hiro helped Willaim cover-up and lay down. He himself laying down next to willaim.
(You want to do anything else, or maybe a time skip?)
( more then likely a time skip)
(Okay. That works for me)
William fell asleep quickly.
(time skip's fine)
Hiro woke early, killing a few birds and knocking on Malcolm's door “ heya! I can't fucking cook so your turn!”
(snickering)
Malcolm groggily woke to Hiro’s knocking and growled. He stood up, dressed, and opened the door, looking down at Hiro with a drowsy glare.
“This may turn into an issue real quick, but at the moment, I could give a fuck. Give me the fucking birds,”he grumbled.
Hiro handed them over “ thanks Malcolm!” he said
Malcolm sighed and disappeared in his room, locking the door. A loud thunk was heard, then silence. It took a long while for Malcolm to re-emerge.
When he finally did, he had two plates of roasted meat. The smell was delicious.
“For you and the cat.”
“ for all of us actually. I don't need much food for energy.”
“I made my own plate. Bring the leftovers back to me, and I’ll take care of it.”
Malcolm still seemed rather drowsy, which also made him seem extremely mellow compared to the previous day.
Hiro nodded and brought the two plates to the room “ heya kit.. Wake up. I got breakfast”
William sat up, eyes half-closed. "Good… morning…" He stretched his arms wide and purred. "Breakfast…" He was slightly slurring his words.
Hiro smiled and handed William his breakfast. “ birdy” he said in response while sitting and eating only a little bit
Malcolm ate his own breakfast, then opened a trapdoor he kept disguised and went down into what appeared to be an elaborate kitchen, storehouse, and archive.
He washed his plate and put it up. He then moved to a book he had set out, glimpsing through it a moment. He wrote down a few notes, then put a small marker in the book before putting it back on the shelf. He smiled as he read the title, ‘Nanobot Evolutions’.
“If I live another hundred years, I’ll find their pinnacle.”
Malcolm shrugged and headed back upstairs, continuing up to his shop so he could finish cleaning it up.
Hiro made sure kit had gotten enough food before taking the plates back.
Malcolm took the plates, setting them on the counter next to him.
“I’ll take care of them later.”
He returned to cleaning, then looked through all of his cabinets, checking for damaged items. What he couldn’t fix, he put in a scrap bucket to fiddle with later.
Hjeo sat and played with a scrap of metal he found, putting it into a liquid state and moving it like he would if he was bending water.
Malcolm glanced over, his mood souring for a moment. But, as he watched Hiro manipulate the metal, it inspired him. Hiro’s powers would make it so much easier than using various tools to melt the metal, and the result would be so much stronger.
“If you’re bored, how about separating the different metals into… ingots, I suppose. It is a shit ton easier to use when I know what metal is what.”
Malcolm grabbed another bucket.
“You can put the ingots in here. Or, you can fuck around with the bucket as well. I have a shit ton of buckets, it’s fucking annoying sometimes.”
Malcolm returned to cleaning.
Hiro nodded and like a kid the sudden separation of the metals and now forming liquid floating in the air. “ can you see which is which ?” he asked the doctor. Even the bucket had been separated out into three metals.
Malcolm turned, his eyebrow raised. He gazed at all of floating metals, thinking deep.
“I recognize quite a few. Iron, steel, and such, but half the time I only remember the reactions it has to other metals.”
He shrugged and turned away again.
(You know, I just realized something. During this entire thing, I have forgotten that Malcolm’s left eye, the mechanical one, doesn’t have eyelids or an eyebrow. But, eh, it still works)
“ ai. Can you help me sort the material? “
Malcolm whipped around at that request, surprised. When did anyone, besides himself of course, peaceably interact with the AI?
The lone AI came inside, moving to crouch near Hiro, its eyes green.
“How do you wish to organize the material, Lifeform?”it asked with its monotone voice.
“ as long as it takes to separate the metal for Malcolm. Hero's spine flashed green
As if he was connecting with the ai.
(That’s new… and intriguing)
Malcolm blinked, noticing the green flash from Hiro’s spine. Didn’t the boy know that the Ai were far more advanced than Malcolm could reasonably reach in another century?
The Ai seemed to pause a moment, as if calculating, then its own eyes flashed and it quickly went to separating material into its respective metal.
“What the fuck?”Malcolm burst, the words just flying from his mouth.
Did he need to be worried about some sort of revolution against him? After all, the Ai were a hive mind. The connection between this lone bot and Hiro couldn’t have happened without the approval of every other AI? How fucked was he now?
Hiro flinched “ I.. I'm sorry. I'll get it to stop..”
“Hold on a minute. I’m genuinely fucking curious. How the fuck did you do that?”
Malcolm approached, but the Ai continued sorting without glancing up. He snapped his fingers, but the Ai seemed a bit annoyed that he was interrupting it. The Ai also seemed to be scanning every piece of metal it picked up, as if cataloging it.
Why was this bot studying materials that the Ai undoubtedly knew about already? Or was it studying the material on a deeper level than Malcolm understand? Considering they were his creation, Malcolm barely understood the AI.
“ stop.” hiro said firmly. He watched the bot and suddenly the mental image and catalog of the metals popped to his mind.
Malcolm watched the interaction, stunned.
“Holy shit. Communication on a deeper level. That the Ai would share knowledge, even just simple materials, is fucking shocking!”
The Ai paused at Hiro’s words.
“Does Hiroshima-Lifeform wish me to stop sorting? We have no need to study these primitive materials, but you have insufficient knowledge.”
Malcolm watched, tapping his chin in deep thought.
