"You're important to me," Nora said. "And the Grid." She wasn't particularly aware of what she was saying; she was drunk on him, on the way he smelled, the way his hair felt underneath her fingers, the gentle pressure of his chest against hers.
Cor felt his face warm as his lines flickered pink at her words. “I think you are more important to the Grid than I am,” he smiled affectionately. “But I know that you are even more important to me.” he confessed, his bright eyes softening as he looked at her.
Nora melted in his arms. Those eyes. She'd never seen an expression quite like the one in his.
Pink-cheeked, she stroked her fingers through his hair and whispered, "You're important to me, too."
Cor’s eyes fluttered at her playing with his hair like that. “You… You already said that.” he smiled softly. He gently buried his face against her neck, holding her close as he breathed her in.
"I know I did," she said. "I just wanted to say it again."
Cor smiled and placed a soft kiss against her neck. “I don't deserve you. But I don't want to let you go.”
"I'll never let you go," she whispered, pressing her nose into his hair. Holy cubes, did he smell good.
Cor… wasn't sure how to react to that. He was certainly flattered but he really didn't feel deserving of her and her attentions. Sirens were in a league of their own that left so many programs in the dust… He sighed softly and kissed her cheek. “I… really. I like you. So much.” he murmured.
"I like you too," she murmured into his hair, breathing him in.
Cor almost shuddered at her words, hoping that they really meant they did. But he was still hesitant to believe that yet… “How much do you like me? Because I know I like you more than I should.”
"I feel the same way," Nora confessed.
Cor smiled at that and gently kissed her lips. He knew that a relationship like this could be… tricky, especially if he didn't tell her that he hadn't stopped being a vigilante and what he was doing now but he felt that it would be for the best to keep that a secret. Maybe one day he would tell her. Maybe.
Nora smiled softly at him. She… she trusted him. She liked him. A lot. It was an entirely new feeling, and one she wanted to enjoy every second of.
But she didn't trust him enough to tell him about Aurora. That was between her and Bit.
Bit. Where was Bit? In a room full of sharp and potentially dangerous objects, there was a high chance of chaos. Her danger alert on full blast, she sat up straight and peered over Cor's head around the room, only to find Bit innocently floating above her helmet.
Cor raised a brow at her sudden action and followed her gaze. “Oh.” he chuckled when he remembered that it wasn't just the two of them. “You’ve been very quiet, Bit. Hope you don't mind.” he smirked.
No, Bit said, bobbing up and down.
"No, you don't mind?" Nora asked.
Yes.
Nora raised an eyebrow and sighed, turning back to Cor, trying to regain the moment, but it was gone now, she thought.
Cor chuckled softly at Bit and gave Nora one more hug. “I really meant all of that.” he assured her before, hesitantly pulling away to finish repairing her helmet.
Nora reached for his hand and wound her fingers around it, a small, soft smile appearing on her lips. "I know you do."
Cor smiled sweetly at that and gently squeezed her hand. “Thank you.”
She reluctantly let him go, beckoning Bit with a finger. "Bit, come here. You're not going anywhere near anything dangerous."
No, Bit said, zipping behind Cor's back.
Cor quickly lifted her hand and kissed her knuckles before letting go. “Bit can watch as long as it doesn't bump anything while I’m working.” he told her. “I don't have anything naturally dangerous in this room… and you need hands for most of this stuff anyway.” he added, casting a playful smirk over at Bit.
"That doesn't stop Bit from much," Nora remarked dryly. Somehow, Bit seemed to cause chaos wherever it went, hands or no. "Do… you mind if I watch?"
“I can believe that.” he chuckled as he moved over to the workbench. “I don't mind. If you want, you can bring that stool over here.” he offered.
Nora did so, perching daintily atop the stool and eyeing Bit apprehensively.
Cor smiled as he continued to stand and began finishing the repair. Honestly, even though he doubted that there was anything Bit could use to get in trouble, he was glad that Nora was still keeping an eye out.
Nora watched Cor work, quietly impressed with how good he was. She was unsure of whether or not to make conversation - she knew Kaira had liked it to be quiet while working.
Cor didn't mind the quiet as he worked as it was easier to focus. Plus, he’d never had anyone else casually come here. Though he really did enjoy Nora’s company. And Bit’s too, of course.
Bit floated within six inches of Cor's hands; Nora leaned forwards and batted it away. "Bit, no."
Cor chuckled, keeping his hands steady. “Little personal space, Bit. Program at work here.” he quipped teasingly.
"I don't think Bit knows the meaning of personal space," Nora said, shooing Bit away again.
Cor laughed softly. “I can believe that.” he nodded, remembering how close Bit got to some of those construction programs back when he and Nora first met. “Anyway, I'm almost done.”
