Sky became noticeably anxious at Joel’s random moment of stillness. “Uh…” she shook her head, regaining her composure. “I don’t know all of their names… just Lumi. Lumi’s very kind.” She thought for a moment. “most of them are kind, as far as I can tell… one is a bit scary, though. But don’t worry about her.”
Joel nods a little.
"Loo. . . me. Lumi." he sounds out.
He hears someone up in the trees and starts to shift to animal a little, ears perking straight up to listen very closely. He also shrinks away from any nearby trees, scanning them carefully.
Sky tilted her head. “What’s wrong?” She starts looking in the directions that Joel is looking, trying to see what he’s seeing.
"Someone in the trees." Joel murmurs, his voice a little shaky.
He continues his scan of the nearby trees, listening closely.
(Hey, who is your character, by the way?)
Sky immediately tensed, falling silent as she shifted the shadows around the trees to try and reveal this someone.
(One of my IRL young friends, just given powers and amnesia- I hope that's cool, it did say you could even play as yourself so I thought that could apply to close friends? Plus it does say "anything" so-)
(Though, because they're your irl friend, I'll make an exception if you have permission)
Varuni jumped down, her skeletal figure landing gracefully. "i'm Varuni. how do you do?" she swept her hands in a smiling gesture.
(OH shit! I literally didn't see the italics- I have difficulties reading and processing information, actually, so I'm sorry- that isn't an excuse tho, I did break the rules still- ummm. . . what do I do then 😅)
(Though, because they're your irl friend, I'll make an exception if you have permission)
(Of course I got permission to use them in stories and stuff - they wouldn't be a character otherwise, I'm not the sort of person to just, like, make a person into something, it just feels weird)
(We could start over the interaction with a different character? Just my thoughts, you do you)
(ask permission, rename them and add your own spin, or… ?)
(Nope, we're all good, lol! I'm glad you got permission, you can continue!)
(alright cool) Varuni waited for a response.
Sky jumped slightly. “Ah— hello there…” is that a skeleton? she waved awkwardly.
"where are you two headed? perhaps i could be of assistance?" she is, in fact, a skeleton.
Joel wimpers, shifting into his fully animalistic form, sharp teeth bared.
A low growl rumbles through the trees as Joel, though scared, places himself between the skeleton and Sky.
"oh! thats… interesting. are you alright dear?" she reached her hand out towards joel, intrigued.
"oh! thats… interesting. are you alright dear?" she reached her hand out towards joel, intrigued.
Joel opens his mouth slightly, the threat clear: "Move any closer, and you'll lose your hand."
The growl deepens, now causing some of the leaves to fall.
Sky steps away from Joel. “Settle down, little one…” she murmurs.
"thats.. a bit agressive, dont you think?" varuni held her hand still, not going closer, but also not retreating. with her stiffer arm, she pulled out two daggers. "These are the only weapons i have on me, i'm going to set them down, okay?"
Joel whines slightly, glancing back at Sky.
He heard the skeleton moving and whipped his head around, before hearing her words.
He pauses for a moment, then shifts forward, batting the daggers away. They each hit seperate trees and stick there, inches deep into the hard wood.
He then moves back, shifting to become more human than animal. He keeps his claws.
"Who are you?" he asks, his voice a growl.
varuni glanced at the daggers behind her. "That works, i guess." she turns back. "As i said before, I'm Varuni. where are you headed, i might be of assistance."
"I'm with Sky because she said there was a group of people who had food and warmth." Joel replies carefully.
"Why do you want to help us?" he asks.
"… because its a nice thing to do?" Varuni seemed confused, why wouldn't she help them. "There is a group of people i'm with, we have food and warmth."
Sky hides herself in the shadows slightly, fidgeting with her necklace and staring at the ground, trying to hide the anxious feelings that were crowding her mind.
