Izu suppressed a laugh at Eric's words. "Right. Good. Can you play any of them? Or do you think you can? Don't worry about being exact, Josephine had a unique style and I expect you will too."
Izu suppressed a laugh at Eric's words. "Right. Good. Can you play any of them? Or do you think you can? Don't worry about being exact, Josephine had a unique style and I expect you will too."
"I can certainly try." She said, smiling slightly.
Eric smiled. "Knock 'em dead!"
"Alright, well I'd like to hear it. Not the whole thing, just some of the main riffs, perhaps?" Izu sat down on a chair, leaning his hands on the back with his legs straddling it.
"You do the main riffs, I'll back you up. Keep in mind, I will freestyle sometime halfway through the song. It's up to you to keep up because it's a bass driven song." Mei double-checked the tuning on the E-string, making sure it was correctly droptuned to a D. Once satisfied with the sound, she quickly hammered out a few ground-shaking notes. The bass was usually the guitar the amps and speakers projected the most, just the way the band liked it. "I take the lead and you follow, aight?" The song had yet to start, Mei just playing the opening four measures on repeat. She looked expectantly at her bandmates and the kid, waiting for them to prepare their instruments.
Coraline nodded slightly, quickly adjusting her guitar strap. She raised her left hand to the fretboard, fingers already taking the shape of the first chord.
Eric floated down to sit in the corner, resting his chin in his hands.
Izu grabbed his microphone, though he didn't really need it for an audition. Cal put his phone away, twirling the drumsticks as he picked them up and started tapping out the beat this song marched to. Each of their songs tended to focus on different instruments; this one was bass, another guitar, and yet another had such heavy percussion it could shake a room. That one was, obviously, Cal's favorite. Izu, of course, sang in all of them.
Without another word, Mei's fingers shifted into third position, hammering down on the strings and beginning the opening to her personal favorite song. A small smile spread on her face as the band immediately followed her line, the drums pounding out in a steady rhythm behind her, the kid keeping up with the harmony riffs and Izu's unique voice singing/shouting in front of her.
Coraline started playing, a smile spreading across her face as her fingers danced along the guitar neck.
Eric grinned. "Yes! That's my girl! That's my random human I'm attached to! Yes!"
Coraline bit back a laugh, ducking her head down.
Izu grinned as they played, a feral, wild sort of smile. So far, she seemed to be doing quite well, and he hoped that that trend continued. They needed a guitarist, and while Coraline was a bit young, she was 18 and could make her own choices about whether or not she really wanted to join them. He only hoped she wasn't too nosy, because Callum, while his control was excellent and he didn't normally lose it, had a harder time on new moons, and with the close quarters the band lived in, it would be difficult if she was nosy.
(so uh– yeah not tryna be creepy but. Kelpies literally kidnap virgins, drag them underwater, kill them, and eat them. so uhhhhhhhhhh. i changed the myth a little to be reliant on the moon cycle but. yeahhhh)
(woops did I scare y'all away? Made some changes to my reply to be a bit less weird ahaha. Sorry)
