"Si, you of all people should know that my house isn't that big." He spared a glance over at Simon and Zelda, both sitting on the floor and looking at him with the same exact expression. He chuckled softly.

“I can hide in the walls,” Simon said. “I doubt that Zelda would have much trouble weaseling her way into the walls.”

"…Okay probably not, but she'd come out to yell at me for food at some point." Finishing up the last of the dishes, Beckett set to loading the small stack of dirty dishes into the dishwasher.

@cryptic-glitch

“I think she hates you just as much as I do. Right, kitten?”
Zelda gave no indication that she heard Simon.
“Oh, come on.”

"Says the man that was trying to get my shirt off not even ten minutes ago." Should Beckett be getting as red as he was from hearing Simon say 'kitten' like that? Definitely not. Was he going to even acknowledge that? Nope. No. Absolutely not.

Beckett nearly dropped the cup he was rinsing. He cleared his throat. Be cool. Be cool. "I-Uh, didn't you say you weren't going to kiss me?"

@cryptic-glitch

“I don’t have to kiss you to get you to take your clothes off,” Simon said with a crooked smile. “I’m sure if I asked very politely. . .”

Beckett set the cup down for a moment, turning to face him. "Uh huh, that might work. But are you going to ask nicely? I feel like your pride wouldn't let you."

Deleted user

"…Wouldn't that be overestimating you? Y'know, cuz I think you're too proud to ask politely?" Beckett raised an eyebrow.

He could do that, he supposed. But where was the fun in that? With a soft hum and a glance away in fake thought, he paused a moment. "Make me," he responded calmly after a moment, a shit-eating grin on his face as he looked back at Simon.

@cryptic-glitch

“I won’t make you.”Simon rose out of his crouch and crossed his arms. “I can’t make you do anything you don’t want to do.”

Beckett's confident grin faltered. "I didn't mean- It's- I do, it's- …Nevermind." He finally just turned back to the dishes to finish up the chore.

@cryptic-glitch

Simon bit his tongue. "I'm joking, Beck. I'm not going to stop you if you want to take off your shirt. Here. I won't even look." He closed his eyes and rocked back and forth on the balls of his feet.

Beckett sighed, trying to hide his reddening face. There seemed to be many misunderstandings between the two of them, and that definitely didn't bode well for him and his easily-embarrassed self. "Y'know, for someone so big and scary you-you're really not great at social situations."

@cryptic-glitch

"Just figuring that one out? How do you think I got on the national fucking chess team? By being a popular person? I hid in my room and got in trouble on the internet." He opened his eyes, eyebrows raised slightly. "So, yes, naturally, I suck at reading social cues."

Beckett nodded quickly. "I- yeah, that makes sense. Sorry." He finished loading the dishwasher, clicking it on and hopping back up onto the counter. "…Will you. Um." He reached out his arms, making grabby hands at Simon.

Beckett grinned, gently tugging him forward. He poked at the corner of Simon's mouth lightly, looking up at him triumphantly. "Softie."

Beckett's wide smile grew, letting Simon bite him. He'd won, but that was too adorable of an admission to brag about it. "That's cheesy," he muttered instead.

Deleted user

Beckett leaned into the touch slightly. "Maybe," he conceded after a moment. He'd always been a sucker for the cheesy romantic moments, he supposed.

Beckett huffed softly, not dignifying that with a response. He hadn't expected Simon to be so big on affection, but it was certainly a nice surprise. "You're soft," he observed, nuzzling closer.

@cryptic-glitch

"Thank you," Simon said, wrapping his arms around Beckett. "I feel like that just supports the fact that you view me as a cat."

Deleted user

Beckett hummed, shifting slightly to tug him closer. "I don't view you as a cat, I just see the similarities, and it's endearing." He began fiddling with Simon's sweatshirt strings again, wanting something to do with his hands.
