@Skylark

“I suppose I’ll wait then,” Sol said, walking around the counter and sitting in the spare chair nearest to Joey.

@Fraust

Joey picked up a book and started quietly reading as well, humming occasionally as he leaned back in his chair.

@Skylark

Sol was quite happy with the first book he started. Joey had already pegged his reading tastes quite well. He read in silence, occasionally glancing up at Joey.

@Fraust

Joey was pretty enthralled by his own book, focused in his own little world. He didn't seem to notice Sol as he flipped the page, scanning with words with his gaze.

@Skylark

At least an hour went by as they read in silence, content in each other’s company. After finishing his second book, this one having been rather short, Sol had to stand up and stretch.

@Fraust

Joey looked up when Sol stood, sticking a bookmark into his book. "Mm… it's almost time for you to go, isn't it? How are you liking the books?"

@Skylark

“They were fantastic, I definitely need to check a couple of them out,” Sol replied as he stretched. “Unfortunately yes, but I’ll see you again tonight.”

@Fraust

Joey smiled softly and nodded. "Well, I'm glad you like them… but I'm sad to see you go. It'll be good to see you again tonight."

@Skylark

Six o’clock rolled around and Sol arrived at the bookshop to pick up Joey. “Hey, estello, ready to go?”

@Fraust

"Yep!" Joey had already packed up his things and had been waiting for Sol. He followed him out the door, humming happily.

@Skylark

“Great!” Sol smiles, carefully putting Joey’s things in a saddlebag. “Do you want to stop for coffee or anything?”

@Fraust

Joey nodded and climbed onto the back of the bike, getting himself adjusted so he felt secure. "Sounds good to me."

@Fraust

Joey climbed off the bike and followed Sol inside, a bit windswept from the journey. "So, did you decide what you wanna watch?"

@Skylark

“Hmmm… I do like Avatar the Last Airbender, but how about we watch Avatar with the blue people?” Sol chuckled. “I think we’d get to invested in the show, and you need to get to sleep at a decent hour.”

@Fraust

"Mmm… sure. I haven't seen the blue people one before." Joey sat down on the couch with Sol and freed his wings, stretching out with a relieved sigh.

@Skylark

Following Joey’s example, Sol shrugged off his jacket and extended his wings with a roll of his shoulders. “It’s nice to be able to have my wings out in front of someone else.”

@Fraust

"Yeah, it is… using the glamour all day makes me pretty tired." Joey laughed softly and stretched his wings out again, starting to preen himself.

@Skylark

So nodded with a content sigh, draping his wings over the back of the couch. “I don’t usually glamour mine, but they get cramped when I gave them retracted all day.”

@Fraust

"Yeah… I can't really retract my wings, and they're too big to hide with just… you know… big clothes."

@Skylark

“It would be nice if we could just keep them out all the time, wouldn’t it?” Sol sighed. “You’d think a couple hundred years would be enough for me to be used to it.”

@Fraust

"Yeah, it would be nice… the humans don't like it, though." Joey sighed softly. "They don't like things that they don't understand, and that's what we are. We're just things to them."

@Skylark

Sol growled softly. “You’re right, and I hate it. Humans can be so… ignorant. Not just about the concept of nonhumans. It’s frustrating.”

@Fraust

Joey nodded a bit, fidgeting with his hands. "We're really not all that different from them, you know? We just… have wings."
