"Calm down! It's not that weird! I felt bad for him, I gave him a hand, and he asked me to stay."
"People don't just spend the night with their rivals without something happening, just saying…"
"Shut up! He wasn't that sober! I have fucking standards!"
Damien rubbed his face, groaning.
“Kari, stop. He doesn’t think of me that way, we’re rivals, remember?”
“Yeah, uh huh.”
“Seriously!”
“Do you think of him differently?”
"Okay, ignoring that you're standards are basically 'they like me back and don't seem like they'd hurt me', I call bullshit."
"I-no! I do not think of him like that!"
"Again, bullshit."
“Come on. At least admit he’s hot.”
“Fine, he’s hella attractive, you happy?”
“I am somewhat appeased.”
“Fuck you, Kari.”
“You’re not my type. Go fuck Eric.”
“Ughhhh”
"Seriously, shut up, nothing happened."
Jack smirked slightly. "You like him."
"Shut-shut up!"
"You do!"
Damien put his face down in the table and sighed.
“Look, Kar, I love the support or whatever, but it doesn’t matter. He hates my guts and this was just a fluke.”
“You don’t know that, I mean, you act like you hate him, but you obviously don’t.”
"Slight flaw in your shitty logic: he doesn't like me." He said, waving him off.
"You don't invite people you don't like to spend the night."
"It was a one-time thing."
“C’mon, dude, I know you saw him, go over and talk to him.”
“I don’t think so. He’s talking to someone, anyway.”
“It wasn’t a suggestion”
“Wha-“
At that, Kari grabbed his wrist and started dragging him across the club.
Eric looked up, freezing like a deer in headlights when he saw Kari dragging him over. AAAAAAAAAAAA-
Jack gave him a concerned look, before looking behind him.
Kari stops in front of Eric and his band mate with a grin and pushes Damien in front of her towards Eric.
She turns to the other man, “Jack, right? Want to get a drink with me?”
Jack nodded. "Like I would say no." He said, smiling as he got up.
Eric gave him a look, almost shrinking into himself. JACKYOUFUCKINGTRAITOR-
Damien made eye contact with Kari as she left, eyes begging her to stay.
She did not.
Turning to Eric, Damien rubbed the back of his neck, uncharacteristically nervous.
“Hey, man.”
"Hey." He said, a little awkwardly. "What's up?"
“Eh, not much, haven’t really done anything since I, uh, saw you last. How about you?”
"Same here, not much." He admitted, shrugging slightly.
“Want that beer I promised you?” Damien asked with a crooked grin.
Eric smiled slightly. "Sure." He said, getting up.
Against his better judgement, Damien grabbed Eric’s hand with a grin, tugging him toward the bar, much like how Kira had dragged him across the club.
“C’mon, then”
Eric grinned, blushing slightly as he trailed after him. "I'm coming!"
When they got to the bar, Damien sat at a stool and ordered beers, still holding Eric’s hand.
I should let go of his hand… but I don’t want to
Eric glanced over at him, taking a few minutes to process that he was still holding his hand. Wait shit what do I do- do I wait for him to say something? Do I drop it? Help?
letgoletgoletgo
Giving Eric’s hand a small squeeze, almost on accident, Damien finally let go.
“I, uh, sorry,” he stuttered, blushing and biting his lip. “Guess you coulda just followed me.”
"I-it's fine." He said, smiling softly. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-
It feels like you don’t hate me. God, Kari was right… I might like you-
Still blushing, Damien was about to say something, when the bartender set down their beers.
Eric looked up at the bartender, smiling slightly in thanks. Holyshitholyshitholyshit-
Damien cleared his throat, grabbing his beer and looking away from Eric, only to glance back at him.
What do I say to him?
Eric picked up his, looking down as he sipped at it. Either I'm killing Jack when we leave, or I'm gonna have to thank him
Noticing that Eric was looking down, Damien took a moment to look at the other shamelessly.
Say something, dammit!
“I’ve been thinking about you all day.”
WHY IS THAT WHAT YOU SAID?!!??
AAAAAAAHHABAHAHAAAA
"Oh?" He asked, glancing up, pink taking over his cheeks. ME???? WHAT???? AAAAAAAAAAAAA?
Stupid stupid stupid
“Y-yeah,” Damien stuttered, blushing bright red. and. “I just… I just can’t get over last night.”
Nice save, dumbass. You made it worse
