He nodded a little bit. "Okay." He replied, watching Victor go.
He nodded a little bit. "Okay." He replied, watching Victor go.
Victor was quick, returning from the bathroom about 20 minutes later, dressed and smelling like citrus and lavender. He settled down beside Jared, a faint tinge of pink on his cheeks.
Jared looked up at him, a faint smile tugging at his mouth. "Hey." He greeted, having finished his breakfast.
He smiled in reply, "Hello." He murmured warmly, tucking a stray piece of hair from his face. "I think… As a starter, we set ground rules, hm? And ask questions. I don't want to make you uncomfortable, or upset you. I'm an open book, okay?"
He blinked up at Victor for a moment, before flushing faintly and nodding. "Right. Yes. Of course. Uhm."
He offered a gentle smile, "Do you want me to start?" He asks gently, his eyes warm as he gazed over Jared like he was the most precious thing in the world. Which he was.
"Yes please." He replied, drawing his legs up to press his thighs to his body, curling his arms around his knees.
"Alright, well let's see. Communication is key, is it not? What are some things that we can do where we're not pushing each other?" He asks softly.
He studied the other man uncertainly. "I…what do you mean?"
"Well, usually when I'm having a hard time, I prefer space to process before talking about it." He explained softly. "Things like that." He offers a gentle smile.
"Oh. Right." He replied, unsure.
His eyes soften, and he gently takes the others hand. "There's no rush, Jared." He murmured gently. "Sometimes we come across boundaries we weren't even aware of at times. We'll take it slow."
He nodded faintly. "I'm sorry. It's just…I…I used to be a lot different and…"
Victor shook his head, "Jared." His voice was firm, but soft. "It's okay, I promise." He murmured gently. "You don't need to be different. You are you." He says gently. "You don't need to apologize."
He took a deep breath. "Right. Right. Yeah. Sorry." He ran his hands through his hair.
Victor smiled, "It's okay, Jared. I promise." He set a gentle kiss to Jared's knuckles.
He looked up at Victor, a little uncertain about all of this. "I'm sorry. I'm…I just…I guess I just need time. Sometimes. To…explain myself. And…and all of that."
Victor nods and offers a reassuring smile. "And that's fine. You have all the time in the world. I'm not going to push you or hurt you, okay?" He assured gently.
"Okay." He said softly, looking up at Victor. "Thank you."
Victor nods, "Of course." He murmured gently, a warm smile on his lips.
He smiled faintly in return.
He knew that the other would need time, and that was fine with him. They both needed time.
He bit his lip for a moment, looking up at Victor.
Victor offered an assuring smile when Jared looked up at him.
He smiled faintly in return.
He moved slightly so he could sit a bit closer to Jared, his hand gently running through the others hair. "We'll figure it out."
He leaned into the touch, closing his eyes. "Okay."
He smiled at that. "Nice and easy, test the waters and see where they take us." He murmured softly.
He nodded faintly, still leaning into Victor's hand.
Victor gently played with his hair, a small smile on his lips. It was kind of nice to have this quiet moment if he was being honest.
