"Okay!" Joey put on the helmet as instructed and carefully climbed onto the back of the bike behind Sol, hesitating before wrapping his arms around the other man's waist. "Is this… safe?"

@Skylark

Sol chuckled. “It’s safe, I promise. I’ve been riding for decades, plus the bike and helmet have enchantments, so you’re perfectly safe,” he said, resting his hand in Joey’s for a moment before starting his bike and rolling out onto the street.

@Fraust

"If you say so…" Joey held tighter to Sol when the bike started moving, obviously much more nervous now that he wasn't drunk. He glanced around as they went along, keeping very close to the other man so he wouldn't fall.

@Skylark

Sol laughed to himself, but made sure to drive extra carefully, slower than he would have on his own. It wasn’t long before they got to his apartment building. “We’re here!”

@Fraust

"Oh, good!" Joey carefully got off the bike, having a little more trouble reaching the ground at first since he was so much shorter than Sol. "Should I wait out here for you?" He asked.

@Skylark

“Whatever you prefer,” Sol replied, getting off the bike and looking at the smaller male. “You can come up if you like, I won’t be long either way.”

@Fraust

"I wouldn't want to intrude or anything… I'll probably just wait out here." Joey took off the helmet for the time being and held it close to himself, glancing around at a couple of nearby people who were eyeing him.

@Skylark

Sol noted the others nearby and repressed the urge to growl. He was already so protective of this angel…
“How about you come inside? It’s a bit windy out here and I don’t want you to get cold.”

@Fraust

"Ah, alright…" Joey paused for a moment before following after Sol, light on his feet and seemingly oblivious. "Do you want me to take off my shoes?" He asked politely as he headed through the door.

@Skylark

“Not unless you want to, I don’t mind,” Sol said with a smile, walking towards his bedroom. “Do you mind if I shower really quick? It won’t take long.”

@Fraust

Joey decided to take his shoes off and set them by the door. "Hmm? Oh! Yeah, that's fine! I'll just wait here." He sat on the couch and ran his fingers through his hair to try and get it to behave, although his efforts seemed to be in vain.

@Skylark

Sol hurriedly showered and dressed in a pair of black jeans and a dark green sweatshirt. Coming back out of his room, he ruffled his wet hair with a towel. “Hey, sorry to make you wait.”

@Fraust

"No problem! I did the same thing this morning, anyway." Joey laughed softly and got up off the couch, fiddling with his clothes until he seemed happy enough with his appearance. "Ready to go?"

@Skylark

Sol nodded with a smile and held out a hand. Ah, am I being too much again? He might not want to hold hands…

@Fraust

Joey eyed Sol's hand for a moment before accepting it, heading out the door with him. "There's a lot of odd people around here, hmm?" He asked softly. "Seems like everyone stares at us… am I dressed weird or something?"

@Skylark

Sol laughed slightly. “No, you look adorable. Angels just usually don’t come here,” he said, gently squeezing his hand. “And some of those people know me and are probably surprised that I brought you here.”

@Fraust

Joey flushed lightly and moved a bit closer to Sol. "But my wings are hidden… they don't know I'm an angel, do they?" He headed outside with Sol, seeming a bit unsure when they got stares again.

@Skylark

“A couple of them are non-humans and can probably smell you, the others are just surprised to see you with me,” Sol said comfortingly. “They won’t bother you with me around, don’t worry”

@Fraust

"Smell me…?" Joey looked down at himself for a moment and then glanced back around at the people around, holding a bit tighter to Sol's hand. "Ah… we should… we should probably get going then, yeah?"

@Skylark

Sol squeezed his hand comfortingly. “Yeah, let’s get going,” he said, leading them over to his bike. “Joey, just know that you’re safe with me, I promise.”

@Fraust

Joey nodded a bit and climbed back onto the back of the bike. "Okay, Sol… if you say so. I should be able to protect myself, but… you know. Just in case." He sighed softly, putting the helmet back on.

@Skylark

Once Joey had the helmet on, Sol started his bike and headed towards the diner. It wasn’t far, so it only took about 10 minutes to get there.
“We’re here!” he said, pulling up. “This place has the best food, I go here a lot.”

@Fraust

Joey carefully stepped down off of the bike and handed the helmet to Sol, running his fingers through his hair. "I don't think I've been here before." He hummed thoughtfully as he looked up at the diner.

@Skylark

Sol grinned. “Well, I hope you like it,” he said, moving to open the door. “If you don’t see anything you like, we can go somewhere else, though.”

@Fraust

Joey nodded a bit, quietly following Sol inside. He really didn't want to eat, but it seemed like he would have to. He didn't really have any believable excuses. He looked up at the menu, hoping he could find something light, at least.

@Skylark

Sol glanced over at Joey, noting his trepidation.
Does he not want to eat? Is something wrong?
“I usually get the pancakes with eggs and bacon, but the fruit salad is also good, and so are the burgers,” he said. “I’m pretty sure they have smoothies, but I’ve never tried those.”

@Fraust

"Mm… I might just get like, one pancake. I'm not too hungry." He said softly, toying with the sleeves of his sweater nervously. He kept his eyes on the menu, feeling almost sick as he read through the number of calories and price of each option. He'd have to remember those numbers for later.

@Skylark

“Can’t go wrong with pancakes. They go well with fruit, too,” Sol said before looking over at the angel. That’s not much… “Hey, are you okay?” he asked softly, noticing his fidgeting.

@Fraust

"Hmm?" Joey got snapped out of his trance when Sol addressed him again. "Uh… yeah, of course. I'm fine. Why do you ask?" He asked softly, continuing to fidget uneasily.

@Skylark

Sol gently took Joeys hand. “You seem uncomfortable, would you like to go somewhere else?” he replied softly, eyes full of concern.
