Damien took his advice and tried to take deep breaths as he practically fell into the car. Not his finest moment.
Damien took his advice and tried to take deep breaths as he practically fell into the car. Not his finest moment.
Eric bit back a sigh, reaching over him to buckle up the seatbelt before closing the door and going around.
Damien rolled his head to the side, looking at Eric. “Thanks…” he managed to mumble.
"It's nothing…" He mumbled, climbing in the driver's side. "Just do me a favor and try not to puke?"
Damien chuckled weakly. “I’ll try not to.”
Well, this night could have been better… he looked at his rival. …or worse.
Eric smiled a tiny bit, starting the car and pulling out of the spot.
Damien closed his eyes, leaning his head back. “why… why are you helping me?”
"I don't like you, but not to the point where I'm gonna leave ya blackout. I'm not that much of a dick." He said, trying to keep his eyes on the road. "Where do you live again?"
Damien huffed a laugh, glancing at Eric. “44th and Lincoln,” he replied. “I’m feeling better, you don’t have to go all the way. I can walk.”
Eric raised an eyebrow. "You could barely walk ten minutes ago."
Damien bit his lip. Eric was right, as much as it pained him to admit it. “I just… hate to bother you.”
"Dude, it's fine. It's not like I had any real plans tonight." He said, glancing over at him.
Damien nodded slightly, admittedly relieved. “Well… thanks, Eric.”
"It's nothing." He said, hoping the blush he felt creeping up didn't show in the night.
His cheeks felt rather warm as Damien looked out the window. what are you thinking, Faust?
Eric shook his head slightly, focusing back on the road. Pull it together, Hyman.
They were getting closer to his apartment, but Damien was hesitant to leave. Why do I like this?
They were rivals, what was he thinking, getting butterflies over Eric of all people?!
Eric bit his lip, humming softly to himself. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-
Hearing Eric’s soft humming, Damien glanced over and, damn, if the sight of him biting his lip wasn’t attractive. No no no. Stop it!
Eric saw the building come into view. "This it?" He needs to stop being cute waitwhatwhyamIthinkingthat-
“Yeah,” Damien confirmed hesitantly. Invite him up—WHAT—I mean—NO—well…
“Want to come in?”
Eric blinked a few times, surprised. "You sure?"
“I, uh, I mean, yeah,” Damien muttered, uncharacteristically nervous. “Anyway, I might need help getting upstairs.”
"Um… sure." He said, trying to keep his cool. WAITWAITWAITAAAAADIDHEJUST-
Damien opened the door and hauled himself out of the car, catching his balance on the hood once he was standing. Did I really just invite him inside?! Calm down, it’s not like anything’s gonna happen—
Eric got out, taking a deep breath. "Need help?"
Damien grimaced, flushing lightly. “Yeah, thanks, man.”
Eric walked over, gently taking his arm. "No problem."
Damien, looked away, blushing a bit more. “I’m on the third floor, sorry.”
"It's fine, it's not that many stairs. Besides, you're light." He said, shrugging.
