Elijah pretended to look offended. "My life is wonderful. I have a probably dead roommate and he has a cat, so I'd say I'm doing pretty good."

She rolled her eyes. "At least you have a cat. Wait What? You're roommate is dead?" Her eyes were wide.

Elijah threw his hands in the air. "I mean, I haven't heard from him in like eight days, but someone is eating my food and feeding his cat, and considering I never go in his room anyway, I just assume that he's still alive and hope the cops won't get involved."

Alexis snorted and rolled her eyes. "You know, a normal person would want to check in and make sure he's okay. But not you. You're special."

Elijah beamed. "Aw, that's the word the therapist used!"

She laughed and shook her head. "This is why we're friends." She kissed his cheek.

Elijah smiled at her. "Was that a goodbye kiss or an "I'm madly in love with you" kiss?"

She rolled her eyes. "That's a "I love you as a brother" kiss. So dot flatter yourself." She teased.

"I mean, like I've said before, I think I'm wonderful enough to deserve all the flattery in the world." Elijah said, ignoring the self deprecating voice in his head telling him the opposite. "It's amazing how amazing I am."

"You are amazing, even if you're a Debby downer sometimes." She said. "Come on, let's go do something."

"I can't," Elijah whined, wrapping his hands around his coffee. "I have work in like, half an hour."

"It won't take that long. Please." She gave him we bed puppy dog face.

"Fine." Elijah said, putting his stuff away. "What did you want to do?"

She grinned and got up. "It's a surprise." She squealed. She bounced a little on he balls of her feet.

Elijah covered a laugh. He swung his bag over his shoulder and grabbed his coffee. "If I am late, so help you." He said, trying not to smile as much as he was.

She waved him off. "I you get I trouble for being late I'll fix it. People will do any big for a little bit of cash." She grabbed his hand and all but dragged him out of the cafe.

"Could this legally be considered kidnapping?" He wondered aloud as they walked.

She rolled her eyes. She pulled him all he way to this pond where a whole bunch of ducks hang out. She pulled out a bag of bread and grinned.

Elijah grinned back. "It says not to feed them," he said, pointing to a sign as he threw bread in the water.

She shrugged. "So?" She started to break apart the bread and slowly lead the ducks over to her. "Do you think anyone would care if I kidnapped one?"

Elijah hummed. "I don't think they would mind. Just grab the duck and run, then run from it when it tries to murder you."

"It won't tired to murder me." She suddenly got very serious. "Would it try to kill me?"
